The air conditioning is payable and it is £40 euros for the two weeks which we found really reasonable
I have just returned from the stema apartments and can not recommend them enough! The apartments are spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool is huge and the pool area is beautiful. The owners are really nice people and the bar staff Paula and Kostas could not have been more helpful.
I would just like to say we returned from the Stema last friday (20th July) after spending a fantastic two weeks there. My big recommendation are the staff and owners who are there to help at all times. The new building reception/bar area are fantastic and the pool is definetly the best Ive come across in Greece (and Ive been to quite a few islands/hotels).
Hi I'm a regular vistitor to stema having been there three times in the last four years. Last year the owners was telling me that they were moving the club house. Please can anyone tell me if this work has been completed as I'm due to go back in August this year? "Cant Wait".
Hi Rachel
If you are looking for nightlife and nothing too crazy then this is great for you. I am 25 and have been here twice and is ideal for me and my partner.
Hey, thinking about coming to this hotel later in the year, im 20 years old, and coming away with my fiance. just wondered if the resort has many bars/clubs? looking for good night life but nothing too crazy!! also, wondered if here are any waterparks? thanks!
Stemma is such a clean and modern place, maids every day which i didnt expect lol, bedding changed regularly, left it a mess, came back after dinner it was spotless! Paula the manager is lovely and always has a smile, you will see her around the pool if you need ANYTHING she will help. The greeks are so kind and friendly. The beach is beautiful, water is clear, loads and loads to do, i would rate it 9/10. so many restaurants, but we found some hidden gems, try to find this one.... among the main road in sidari is a gorgeous old chapel, behind it is Pizza Romano's it is one of the best restaurants and meals we ever had! and all the food in corfu is extremely cheap. can get a 3 course meal for approx 10 quid! it is a very beautiful place and try some excursions, we did theos boat bbq and had soooo much fun, get a bbq on private island, swim in corals and in coves, and aqualand is good fun, huge water park. hope this helps as a quick quide for anyone going! xxx
My wife , daughter and I arrived late at night on 29th September and were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived . The staff were great and were friendly and courtious especially Paula who was always in a happy mood whatever the time of day.
Yes kerry its just a 1 minute walk at the end of the road of stema. Hope thats helped lovely appartments :-)
hiya, i wonder if anyone can help me! im goin 2 stay in the stema apartments in sidari, would just like to know how far the main sandy beach is? is it walking distance?thankyou for your help!
Can anyone provide me with the full site address, or phone or fax number, or e-mail address, of the Stema Appartments in Sirdar. Ta!
We went back end of September and had a fantastic holiday. Great rooms, lovely pool Paula in bar is lovely and if u go see Yanni and Yargo in Calypso on main street they are very friendly. As for the rod out of the apartments, it isnt that bad at all, its a bit dark but u dont need a torch. The shower room/bathroom we had wasnt tiled very well on the floor so the water didnt drain away too well but if thats my only criticism then i wud ignore me!! great holiday, wud highly recommend to anyone.
Stayed at Stemma in August. Excellent time. Rooms large, well equipped, clean. Nickos,Nikki,Paula and Kosta treat you like family. Bar and pool first rate. Suzy the rep is class. 5 minute walk from the main town so nice and quiet. Certainly one to return to.
could anyone please tell me if stema one appartments are still open, if so who can i book through
We stayed at the Stema in May 2005. The staff were very helpful right from the start, nothing was too much trouble for them. The apaprtment was surprisingly spacious, clean and well maintained. The cleaners were very trustworthy and we didnt feel that we had to 'hide' all our valuables away. The Thomson rep looked after us very well, she was always on hand to offer help and advice, she had only been there for 3 weeks before we arrived, but you woudlnt have noticed as she was well in the know. Whilst there we took a day trip to Albania, great for the culture vultures but not recommended for the kids as they would have been bored to death!!, but we really enjoyed it. Sidari itself is OK, the beach is a little ropey, I didnt swim in the sea, the smell was enough to put me off. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the town and the quality of the food is very good. Mosquitoes are a real problem so I recommend that people take antihistamine before they arrive. The only downside of our holiday was the beach, not very clean, lots of pools filled with stagnant water and the stench............phew!!, especially by the little bridge you have to cross on the way to the main strip, you'll know what I mean when you get there. If your planning to hire a car, make sure youve got good insurance as the locals are nutters when it comes to driving! The Stema is a little off the beaten track which is ideal when you want some peace and quiet, but its only a 5 minute walk to the main town. We have travelled all over Europe and the Stema has got to be one of the better acommodations that we have stayed at...........enjoy!
Ha, I dont know about that, anyone that has them apartments have a pretty easy job as you said they do generate no problems. Hope all is ok with you and life in Corfu. I'll e-mail you and ask you all the gossip from the island as Matt and me miss it loads , but now I'm working as cabin crew it isn't that bad.
Hey Sarah my predeccessor,
Not been to Corfu..only Zante. Now kids are older cant really go outside school holidays. Realise it is busier but only one way to find out. 2 weeks in August
Have you been to Stema before?
Thanks Nat. first time I've been in August holidays.
no there are plenty of sunbeds. some places do take it but not many
Going to Stema 2 in August. Will there be a need to get to the pool at 5am to get a place or is there enough space for all. Also do they take Amex in Corfu.
Sarah
Nat
I did thank you very much. My ankle hurt for about a month and still to this day I dont know why. Hope you and Rachel are keeping well?
Sarah,
Yeah thats us. Didnt think you would forget us.Congratulations on the wedding, Suzy the new rep told us. Went 6-13th May this year to Stema, but only the 2 of us because the other 2 are pregnant, might go back september for a week, depends on £! Oh god Barbara & Steve were the couple we got wrecked, they were about 60 and came on the greek noght then we took them to shakers and calypso and ceasars, it was so funny, dont think we saw them again, I remeber you asking what we had done to them beacuse they were still wrecked the next day when you saw them>ha ha. Did that again to some bloke who were saw in Shakers,he was mid 40's over with friends, building appartments. He was called Bob, we got him drambui, red vodka, sambuca and tequila shots, nedless to say he was only with us for about an hour and a half before he stumbled out hammered!!!Glad your well. Could you give me some info on becoming a thompsons rep?Had an interview with Olympic but people said they were not a good company to work for so I didnt go!Didnt want to risk it!!!Reply soon, take care
I get married in February and this is the reason I am not going back - how can I forget you four you got two of my guests absolutely S>_t faced and made them stay out until about five in the morning. You are the four girls that came back in the Sept or Oct, am I right? Its hard enough when you are a rep to remember all guests that you get, but you do remember the really nice ones - Rachel and Chris from Wales, Lorraine and Charlie from Scotland and loads more, then there are the party ones namely you four and then there are the nasty complainers who seem to think they are the only family there and the world revolves around them, and I had quite a few of them. Are you going back this?
hi sarah, its nat, one of the 4 brummy girls who came a couple of times last year. left a message on the three brothers board, but dont think you have checked, or you dont remember us. i would love some information from you. if you get a chance to read this leave me message and i can ask you!! thanks. apartments are fab and so are staff
This place is by far the best apartments in Sidari. The whole lot of the staff are brilliant and will do anything to help any of their guests. I know this because I was the rep there last year. Nikki and Nickos are fab as are the two Kostas, if Ginger Kostas is playing too much Brian Adams tell him to change it. There was a little problem with the hot water, however, in Greece you will never get the water as hot as England. As for the path that is dusty and dark and everything else, I used to walk up that path every night after work in the dark for six months and it really is not an issue!!! However if you do find it a problem walk along the path on the opposite side of the apartments as it was tarmaced last year and oh...it has lights - if people asked and brought things to the attention of their rep (namely me) I would of pointed this out. For the quality of the rooms I wouldnt complain about a tiny dusty path of the length of about two hundred metres - Im sure people just go on holiday to find things to complain about and then go home and make crap up. If anyone does want any help or advice as to where to go and what to see in Corfu or where the best places to stay are just leave a message on here and Im leave a reply. If anyone is going to the Stema this year please say hello to the gang and tell them Ill see them in September
ELLA NATALIA
We went to sidari on honeymoon, it was fab. The stema II was clean, excellent service and we were made to feel very welcome, by the end of the two weeks we were sad to come home. Lynn our rep was a stunner, arranged fantastic entertainment, and made a mean cocktail. The music in the day a bit repeatative, ginger costas playing bryan adams as soon as the other costas went on his break. Highly recommended x
Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous
The Stema Apart were brill, the only prob we had was no hot water on our last day(even after we had paid to keep apartment on till we were due to leave) waste of money scince we could not shower properly, The Costas were fun and tried to help apart from when ginger costas was playing on his Playstation.
Came back today (15th October 2004) from Stemma II apartments. Few comments to make. Firstly, the apartments were absolutely superb. They were cool, spacious, airey, immaculately clean and very well equipped in terms of kitchen, hairdryer, aircon etc. the pool was superb, clean and attractive but freezing! The bar area was ok, although we didn't use the area much due to it being quiet during the evening. There is a big screen in the bar but other than that there didn't seem to be much entertainment on, although that may be due to the time of the year. My major critisism would have to be the location. Although it affords peace and quiet away from the crowds during the day, it is located dowm a very long narrow uneven "track" which in the evening becomes very dark, can get very muddy and wet should it rain and, I would imagine, cause some visitors - particularly female and elderly - a certain level of fear with regard to personal safety. The walk into Sidari is only a maximum of 10 mins away, but that track can be off-putting. A good tourch is an absolute must! Sidari itself is brilliant, lively and highly recommended.
Thank you Nicos, Nikki, Coasta 1, Aussie Coasta and footballer(pool player, backgammon player) Theo.
my wife, my 17 year old daughter, and myself all found the stemma apts a great change from the normal go go go holidays. all the staff were excellent company (even when they were worn out). It's hard to keep me happy and relaxed on holiday but i say with hand on my heart that the staff and owners at Stemma 2 were the most pleasant hosts I have encountered for a long time.I have and will recomend them for anyone that needs to chillout, many thanks to all at Stemma 2.
First Holiday abroad with my boyfriend The Stema Apartment could not be faulted. The Owners Nicos and Nikki and theor happy team were fantastic. We had a great time and meet loads of great people. Sarah our rep full marks. Sidari is a lively place at night but the apartmets are situated in a quiet location whjich is great. The pool was perfect. If anyone goes you'll have a top time and I would say go on 2Captain Theo's BBQ. You'll have the best time ever. We will definately by back. Weather was perfect. Thank you Nicos, Nikki, Coasta 1, Aussie Coasta and footballer Theo.
stema ii was fantastic, could not believe my eyes when we walked into our apartments, so clean and spacious. we re-named the bar 'the ok coral' it was great, nicos, nikki, costas, costas and theo were fantastic i would really like to move out there and live in their caravan (joke) and clean the pool all day. this has to have been the most relaxing holiday ever. the biggest plus was there were no children there. sidari is a great place, ok so you have to be mindful of traffic, but that applies all over greece, drivers are all mad. sidari of a night time is fantastic (and i'm over 40) it just comes alive and you feel so safe, my son is 16.5 and he went off on his own (because we are boring - to him) and i felt quite comfortable for him to be out on his own, he met a mate and they met up each evening about 21:30 and partied until about midnight then he walked back to the stema ii alone and i had no fears whatsoever. the beach was disappointing but i was quite have to stay at the pool all day at the stema ii. if you get to read this everybody at the stema ii - we love you all to bits xxx we will be back next year.
tour operators or e-mail address for the sunflower apartments in sidari.these are owned by yannis & irene a great family ran apartment please help
sorry about that message got mixed up. sounds like you had a wicked holiday. what is there to be alarmed about ginger kostas??we have got australian costas' phone number if you want it...when are you due back to stema?hriazome kenooryio lastiho is something that needs to said to all greeks!!!
yasoo megan rimmer you sill silly malakas
Costas u fitty i love you! Sex god!!!!! The pool and bar are great. They play great music all day nice when you cool off in the pool and recover from the night before. Food was nice esp.club sandwich. i lived off them. Don't be alarmed by Kostas' ginger hair ;)
The apartment was lovely, v.clean. Our air con didn't seem to work tho and our smoke alarm went off at 8am on our last day! The water wasn't too much of a prob, bit yellow/orange at times. The cleaner was great she even cleaned round me when i was in bed nursing my stomach from over indulgence the night before. Take or buy a fly swat from the shop down the road- serious mosquitoes out there. Got bitten to buggery. Didn't spoil holiday tho. There was a slightly funny smell down the road sometimes but the walk into town is fine. traffic isn't THAT much of a big deal. There was always room at the pool tho. And the communal pool toys (lilos, pit-pat bats volleyball balls and floatables) were great. Can't recommend it enough.
well hello there, been to stema three times in last 8 months due back again in september. absoulutely fab holiday, apartments are lovely, spacious and clean. nikki and nicos are lovely and friendly. the bar men costas and kostas are a good laugh and friends of ours. recomended to anybody who wants lazy days and loud nights. can't wait to see u all x x x and big kiss to ginger kostas from natalie x
No problems with the Stema II appts at all ( 2 weeks, got back 25th June). There is a little walk of around 10 mins to the main street/drag, but I didn't feel there was any security issue of a late night walk back. Torches maybe? Didn't feel we needed them.
The pool area and bar are great. It all works and from what we saw of other appts, the pool is a fantastic size. The pool area was clean and the bar staff and managment very friendly, especially during the Euro 2004.
Don't be put off by a small mini bus transfer with your bags in a wagon on the back if you turn up late night, it all sorts itself out in the morning, a the place is great.
As a resort, the apparts are a great place. The beach is narrow, not roomed and actually appears dirty in comparison to what you might expect of a resort. The main street is typical tat shops, bars and tavernas sorted for the tourists. Best left until evening when you want beer and food.
We stayed there in September 2003. The pool was finished then. They did not appear to be building another one but there would be plenty of room between the blocks for another pool to be built. They were building a third apartment block but not another pool, at least not when we were there. The pool there is is very nice indeed, plenty of sunbeds around it. I would imagine it would be very busy in July, it was relatively quiet when we went in September. I would definitely recommend these apartments, but be aware of the lack of hot water in your apartment. You have to keep the tap or shower turned on for about 5 minutes before the hot water comes through. This is such a waste of water, when supposedly there is a shortage.
MY BOYFRIEND AND I HAVE BOOKED TO GO TO THE STEMA 2 STUDIOS IN JULY. I AM BIT WARY OF THE POOL. IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN RECENTLY WHO KNOWS IF IT HAS BEEN FINISHED?
When we went to Sidari we enjoyed every thing but the hotel. We was stuck down a dark lane, so at night we was scarred to be walking about, you never know who is going to get you. As we found out on our last night. We got followed home from the town and then he tried to get into our appartment, kicking down the door and shouting. There were no security at the hotel so we couldnt get help. There also was no telephones in the room so we couldnt ring the police. we being 2 young girls would never recomend the stema appartments to anyone.
we have just come back from the stema. they are very spacious and are in an excellent location, being in a quiet lane just minutes from the beach. however, there is air conditioning but hot water is very spa**e. indeed, one day we had no water at all, but i understand this is a common problem in greece. they should have ensured a good hot water system instead of the air conditioning. they are not cleaned every day and the sheets don't fit the beds. the pool is excellent, there are plenty of sunbeds. they are building a third block by the looks of things. oh, and you only get one toilet roll provided. once you have finished that, you have to buy your own!
it was quiet when we were there but i should imagine it is quite noisy in july and august. owners friendly. pool bar excellent with good food.
Excellent all round. Clean, tidy, modern (stema II is air conditioned) great location (quiet and only ten min away from centre of sidari). would recommend these apartments to anyone.
These apartments are very new, spacious well equiped which included hairdriers and aircon. Very nice pool and I think there's a bigger one planned. On the downside the lack of hot water at all times of the day is very frustrating.
Mrs Olsen (September 05, 2003)wrote-the new pool hasn't been done yet i think they are finishing it at then end of the year.
huh?? STEMA 2 HAS A FULLY FINISHED AND FULLY OPEN SWIMMING POOL AND HAS HAD FOR AT LEAST A YEAR!!!!
unless they are PLANNING on building a newer and bigger one then i have no idea what you are talking about?!?!!?!?
Spent two weeks at the Stema II apartments in August, and the apartments were absolutely superb, the best I have ever stayed at. The apartments are all very new and well appointed, and are cleaned just about every day. The location of the Stema is also great, a very quiet location but only a few minutes walk from the busiest part of Sidari. The pool and bar are also very good, and the owners and staff are very friendly. I can't recommend the apartments highly enough.
came back t'day from the stemma 2 apartments excellent location very clean. nicky and nico's are very friendly greeks and they do great cheap food the new pool hasn't been done yet i think they are finishing it at then end of the year. great for young and old couples who are looking for a nice relaxing quite holiday. i didn't think much to the beach though which is about 200 mtrs away it was a bit dirty dog poo, tab ends etc. oh and a man what walks down the beach selling fruit and dougnuts he well and truly rips you off don't buy them cost me 4 euro's for a doughnut only 70 at the supermarket. i would definatley return to the same apartments sometime in the near future.
just returned today from stema 2.excellent is the only word that can describe these apartments, top quality and excellent staff/facilities and all in an excellent location of the resort.10 out of 10 :))
sidari however....non 2 impressed, far to british for us and with a very poor beach, with mcdonalds and every restaurant advertising chip buttys and pukka pies! we tried 10 restaurants in our 2 weeks and struggled to find a true greek expierence although the food was in general pretty good.the worst parts for us was the terrible traffic and the smell :(
i actually had to go to the doctors on my return today as my neck was so painful from looking over my shoulder every ten seconds to see if i was about to be mowed down by a mad motorist, pavements are a joke and i cant believe they havent made the main street pedestrianised(spelling??) at night time,it is truely awful and extremely dangerous.we also disliked the two rivers of sewerage running through the resort, not pleasant.
on the plus side of things, the weather was fantastic, the stema 2 are the best greek apartments we have ever been 2 and the rest of corfu was very nice, cassiopi in particular was very pretty and far more greek, dont get me wrong,im sure some people love what sidari has to offer but we personally will be sticking with skala in kefalonnia :))
Just got back from 2 weeks at Stema 1 apartments, they are really good! The Stema 1 are really good, so Stema 2 must be excellent! (Think they have air con). The owners and staff are really nice people, they do some good food too. As far as we could see, everyone shares 1 pool, but its really good. Only 5 minutes walk from the town but its nice and quiet.
I'm going to stema II studios next june with my boyfriend, can anybody who's been there give me some details, whats it like???
thanks gemma x
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!
Just got back. had an excellent time. the resort and accomodation were superb. The Stema studios were perfectly clean and well equipped, the pool was fine and the staff friendly. I cant recommend it highly enough. Simon
Im going to Stema 2 apartments tomorrow with my girlfriend. Ill post again after to report on how it went. thanks simon
Me and boyfriend are staying in the Stema II apts at the beginning of July.
Does anyone have any information on these also has the pool been finished???
If anyone wants some photos of the Stema11 apartments in side and out, send me an e-mail to mbigspark2@aol.com and i will send them to you
Bryan and Michelle.
My wife and I had our honeymoon there last year. The new white apartments are like a palace.Nicky and Nicos are genuine friendly greeks. If you want to rent bikes or mopeds got Jim`s bikes opposite the church in Sidari main High street.this year we are taking our kids with us because there is so much for them to do.Aqua land is best for kids although there is a water park near Roda about ten miles from Sidari heading west along the north coast.Kassiopi at night is brilliant for food and setting sun over the bay.Don`t bother with Thomson tours ,they`re too dear,go down the High street and on the left is a tour operator called Phillepe with old fashioned telephone boxes inside. He is excelent for places to see,but don`t go to Albania. We went for a day on a coach tour round ruins, the Albanians pay the police backhanders, they can`t be trusted at all.
Bryan and Michelle
Jenny, I've also booked in to Stema Studios and was worried about the pool problem, but the lovely travel agent at Lunn Poly phooned and checked for us and they said that the pool was complete. Fingers crossed.
Accomodation
I have booked for Stema II in July but after
reading some of the comments I am now
unsure if a pool is still being built or if you
have to use the one at Stema I. I have
contacted Thomson but can't get a straight
answer!! Does anyone know? Thanks
Sidari was my first ever Greek Island visit in 94. Fell in love with the people, way of life, food, drink, everything. Went back for the next 5 years. Had to drag myself away to see other islands ( the wife insisted) The last two visits were at The Stema. Loved it. When you go tell Nicos melena Malcolm sends his love. Lovely evening meal with fantastic view just at the end of the road in El Grecos. Tony and his family are great.
Love to hear how you went on.
Myself, husband and 3 boys (10,12,15) are staying at the Stema appartments. I've heard they are quiet, will my boys be bored? Whats the best to do on Corfu with 3 boys? Should we hire a car?
Thanks
ive bin to sidarri loadz of times and im staying in stema II this year but i dont know where abouts in sidari they are, so can anyone help?
The Stema complex consists of 2 block of apartments, which are different from one another, the Stema I complex (as featured in Thomsons Just Greece brochure is the more basic, yet still clean, with its own pool. The Stema II are more recent and luxurious with a brand new pool which was getting built last year so should be ready for this season. I was fortunate enough to try out this accomodation last year on an Educational trip as I work for TUI (Thomsons) and was so impressed I have booked it for a week in May for my wife and I. The only criticism I had was the lack of lighting when returning to the complex after a night of alcohol fuelled antics! That said it is a mere 5 minutes from the resort centre (15 if really drunk.) There's a small beach a 2 minute stroll away with Sidari's main beach about 5 minutes farther down the road. Overall A great resort and a great complex.
MY MUM AND DAD ARE STOPPING AT THE STEMA ii APARTMENTS IN AUGUST 2003. I BELIEVE THESE ARE NEW FOR 2003 IN THE THOMSON GREECE BROCHURE. CAN ANYONE GIVE SOME INFORMATION ON THIS ACCOMMODATION, IE LOCATION ETC.
My girlfriend and I are booked for the stema1 apartments in july Just want some info if anyone has any that would be great thanks
I am going to these apartments in June 2003 I would be grateful for any info from someone who has stayed there.
