We stayed at alexia palm grove apartments in may 2008 for our honeymoon. we had two weeks and loved every minute of it.. The family who own it are very nice and pleasant. There was only a small handfull of guestsas it was the beggining of the season but we had the best time ever... We stayed in one of the blue huts wich are very decieving and bigger inside than they look. It was very clean, the pool is fantastic. The family held BBQ's on saturday nights with lovely food, then they all put on a display of greek dancing. There was karoke in the bar most nights and alex ( papa ) would put on a show of dancing for every one. We met some fantastic people while we was there. It is about 10- 15 mins walk to the main strip of bars and restaraunts, but it is a pleasant walk. I would not hesitate to back there again, in fact i am looking to book this year.
just returned from holiday after staying here. the tour operator is libra. It was a bit way out but the walk did us good. I think it is still owned by the same family who were nice & friendly & tried to please. The only problem we had as there were 3 adults (me,my mom & cousin) we were expecting to be in the main block with 2 rooms & a balcony. My cousin stayed here in sept 06 with her friend & booked a studio & was given a room in the main block (room 2). So we decided to book exactly the same as thought this would be big enough for the 3 of us but was put into a bungalow (smurf hut). I asked the rep - Ian who told us the studio's - which are a 1 room are the same as the bungalows. I then asked why they call some rooms appartments, studio' & bungalows, this is mis-leading. Still didn't get anywhere (not very helpfull & didn't return on the monday as he promised to try & move us). All in all though we still had a good time, it was clean, just a bit too small for the 3 of us.
Food was crap and over priced. Accomodation is NOT 10 minutes away from centre, especially when you are constantly worrying about children whilst walking down the VERY busy main road. Prices charged at the bar were more than 3 times those in town, although this was dependent upon who was serving at the time!!!. Rooms are poor even by Greek standards and badly maintained. Towel changes are very hit & miss; we had 3 in 2 weeks even after complianing more than once. Owners children run the bar and use it for their own enjoyment untill the small hours....loudly! Pool is very good and the kids had a great time in it. Buddies bar does a great breakfast and the Venizia pizzeria has constantly great food at the right price (avoid the garden steak house unless you enjoy chewing camel ears as that is what they seemingly call steak!) Book Aqualand in town (Value travel was reasonable). We paid 18euros per person with a discount for the kids and went direct on the "express" bus. Those that booked with the rep paid 38euros and travelled all over Sidari picking up and dropping off people on the same trip.Incidentally the Libra rep was an absolute waste of space and we will make a point of NEVER using that company again. Overall a very poorly run accomodation too far away from the restaurants and shops and not recommended for anybody unable to walk a great distance or those with young children.
Alexia, palm grove, is a lovely place to go. we have just got back, and we wish that we booked for 2 weeks. the people that was there were really nice, kind and very friendy. Alexia, palm grove is a family binessies. the family is lovely, and would do anything to stay enjoyable.
when we went we had no problems, not 1.
if you dont wabt to go into the town which is any 5 mins down the road, the family when cook you a very lovely meal, which the cost is reasonable, the owns son is really nice and friendly, he works there every night.
the town is only 5 mins down the road and the beach is 10 mins from palm grove. the beach is beatuiful, you must vist it
the location is a nice distance out of sidiar town, so it is a quiet place to stay. i would love to go back!!Just got back today from alexia palm grove, didn't really have too many problems with the noise as described below, but we were in the blue apartments round the back. I know one or two nights we could hear it, but it didn't seem excessive. The accomadation is set well back from the road and i spent most of my 2 weeks lying around by the pool. There were quite a few young families there whose kids enjoyed the place, it is out of main sidari aswell so it doesn't have many people around. I have pictures of the place if anyone wants to see the rooms etc, and if they want anymore info let me know. All in all i had a fantastic holiday and would consider going back again for sure!
i go 3 times every yeasr and we enjoy it as it is a comfatuble place to stay you dont stand out but everyone just fits in
I would like to say we have been for the past 2 years we made excellent friends and will be going back this year. everyone was lovely and it was the best holiday i have ever been on. everyone running the hotel are brill and made us feel really comfortable and welcome. can't wait to go back and see all our friends again.
The apartments we stayed in were brilliant. There are little gazebo studios just behind the main apartments which are totally charming.
The apartments are very basic, and some studio apartments have to be accessed via some very steep fire escape type stairs (no good for people with young children). The bathrooms are of a very poor standard.
I am going to the Alexia Palm Grove in September, Can anyone tell me if there are kettles in the rooms and if there are any safe facilities? The details in the brochure do not mention these. With thanks Lesley
just
come back from 2 weeks at the alexia and i must say we had a great
time. Alex,Iris,Spiros,Alexia and Billy are all great friendly people
who will make you feel very welcome. very clean and excellent pool and
bar. it is about 15 minutes walk into town and if my 4 year old can do
it then anyone can. if you need to go in the heat of midday then
a taxi into town is 5 euro's and the taxi can be ordered at the bar.
there are some appartments across the road about 200m away but you
still get to use all of the facilities and these appts are only two
years old. all in all a great place to stay with everything close to
hand.
p.s. you must go to salt and pepper taverna which is 5
minutes down the road next to the b.p garage. gorgeous grub and
very reasonable, also try baze sports bar bit further down and on the
other side of the road. great steak.
Forgot to say we got told the blue block was 2 mins acroos the road it is about 5 mins but they are above the supermarket across the road!!
We stayed at the Alexia Palm grove last week(6th june-13th june) we liked the a lot, they were ok, the family(Alex,Alexia,Spiros,Irs)were brilliant and so friendly!Billy the barman is the best and soo gorgeous!

WEN i BOOKED WE WERE TOLD WE WERE 10 MINS WALK FROM THE MAIN TOWN NOW COME ON WEN UR DRUNK IT TAKES U LIKE 45 MINS AT THE LEAST!
WE ASKED TO BE MOVED COZ OF THE STAIRS IN THE STUDIOS AND WERE ASKED FOR 200 EUORS PP TO MOVE! THE SNACK BAR IS DEAD LIKE 99.9% OF THE TIME AND IS VERY EXPENSIVE.
HAVE TO SAY THE POOL WAS LOVELY BUT TOOOOOOOO MUCH CHLORINE BURNT MY EYES! VERY QUIET SO IF U WANT A LIVELY TIME DO NOT STAY HERE!!
HI IT'S EMMA AGAIN! I KNOW YOU'VE BEEN READING THESE PAGES, TRISH AND JO, I JUST WANTED TO SAY HI, AND UNFORTUNATELY I'M NOT GOING TO SIDARI THIS YEAR, I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO GO AND SEE YOU AGAIN BUT EVERWHERE IS TOO EXPENSIVE THIS YEAR... MISS YOU GUYS THOUGH. SAY HI TO ALL OF YOUR FAMILY WHEN YOU GO AND MAKE SURE THEY REMEMBER ME!!
LOTS OF LOVE, EMMA
I cant wait to go back to Palm Grove again this year :-) I love the staff there we're really friendly with them and I keep in touch with all the young ones of the family, if you were there in summer 2003 you'll know patricia and joanna, and the two spiros'. Im asking for some help though!!! if you went to Alexia Palm Grove at some point before about September/ October 2003, you would ahve hopefully met Thomas the bar man that used to work at the Oh La La on the main st in Sidari. I made really good friends with him but lost his phone number and address- I was just wondering if someone might have some information of how I can contact him again? Any help would be gratly appreciated! :-) I'm hoping to go back again in end of July/ beginning of August 2004 so if you're going then you may well run into me :-) drunken in the bar!! unfortunately Thomas doesn't work at Palm Grove anymore so hopefully I'll find him in a bar somewhere in Sidari. You can email me at emmawest2003@hotmail.com if you can help me please!
I've been to Sidari in Corfu 4 times now and stayed at Alexia Palm Grove twice. I can't believe that some people are moaning about staying in the blue apartments- not only are they more spacious, you have a fantastic balcony. and its not far at all from the main site and the pool& bar- about 30 seconds walk!!! The family are so friendly, Alex, Iris, Alexia, Spiros, Joanna, Patricia, Stefan, George and Spiros. How can you complain??? I think its a fantastic place and will be visiting again next year for my third time at Palm Grove and my 5th time in Sidari. I@d recommend this place to anyone. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time!!!
We had such a problem with the apartment (1 week) the cleaner came twice - and changed the sheets once.
they refused to fit a toilet seat. The could not repair/replace the fridge that we had.

All I can say is don't expect to be on the main site. When I booked this holiday I specifically asked for a pool view. To my great disappointment we were dropped off at an annexe building which is approximately 300m from the Alexia Palm Grove main complex. Our apartment was up a flight of stairs along with two other apartments and there was no pool or bar facilities. I have a young child and always book accomodation with a pool so it was a great inconvenience not to have any facilities onsite. We did not use the facilities on the main site as we visited the Sunflower Apartments on a daily basis as it was in closer proximity to our apartments. To make matters worse, on the day of our departure we were told that the coach would pick us up from the main site. Can you imagine carrying 3 heavy suitcases 300m up the road in the midday sun! We were not amused but the rep said that we had to meet there. Fortunately, a Greek friend of ours from the Sunflower apartments took our luggage in his car. I have written to Aspro Travel and will not be booking these apartments again.
We had a great time here, the best holiday ever. The family are dead friendly, as are the staff - thomas rules! There were six in our party and we are young lads, but there were several families and couples and everyone had a good time. I would truely recommend this appartment for anyone.
very clean reasonable sizes very friendly hosts try george and alexs greek nite
