Agree with Roger, we stayed with a 5 3 and 18 month old in a two bedroom apartment in May 2003 with a cot for the baby and the accomadation was super. The whole family help run the apartment and they live on the upper floor and cant do enough for the guests. After the first night when we ate in a rip off restaurant we ate at the Tolis and had superb meals - they even shared the family meals with us when they realised we liked Greek food. As soon as we got there hot tired and delayed from the usual air cattle treatment Vasilis poured us a cold lager free of charge. The rooms were cleaned every day and I cant fault the owners at all. The apartments are quiet with a small supermarket 50 M up the road. Yes they have got some turkeys and chickens which my kids loved going to see. A big cheap supermarket is about 1 Km down toward sidari. The beach is down a quiet road again about 1 Km but to be honest this is not the main sidfari beach and very few families would use it. The best / main sidari beach is a good 11/2 km into the centre of sidari and we walked it with our kids every day of our 2 weeks. Next time I go I will be hiring a car so we dont have to do that trip every day. The apartments are named after the elder son Tolis who speaks better english than most english people, vasilis speaks english well as does his wife Angelike and mother. The owner does not feel as comfortable speaking english so tries speaking german if in difficulty. Within 200 metre are many apartments with swimming pools / play facilities that most families use rather than walk to the beach. Families who want a quiet, clean, base in pleasant surroundings, with good value food and accom will love these apartments. Young ere we go ere we go types or alf garnets will probably not - just take a car if your desperate to hit the beach (ratehr than pool) every day.
please can you give me a better idea of what the apartment is like? can you tell me how far is it really (in walking distance)to the town centre? do we need to hire a car cos it looks like it is the middle of nowhere! we fly off in 2weeks so would be grateful if anyone could let me know
Are these apartments as bad as that, i'm going out there in 3 weeks and the brochure says 1km from the beach in Sidari and use of pool 500metres away. Are they honestly that bad and should i try to get a transfer from these apartments if possible?????
Any help would be appreciated
We are used to culture shocks but these apartments were unreal. We are not used to turkeys having the run of the place, when we complained we were told they are considered wild animals!!!!!!!The german owner could not speak english, try getting bottled water and a kettle with sign language.40 mins good walk to Sidari more than 1 klm
NOT NICE AT ALL....BEWARE
