Just got back from two weeks at Varvara and had a brillant time. Had a 2 bed apartment and it was spacious with two balconys with one overlooking the pool. Jasmine's food was delicious, especially her homemade cheesecake. Hopefully will go back next year.
Went to Varvara on 22 Aug 2011 for one week. It was brillant, studio basic and clean ok for our needs. Pool area was well maintained plenty of sun loungers. The snack bar served reasonably priced food, (the white cake was heavenly). The owners Jasmine and Takis were very helpful they stopped up to 1.45 to see us off and the cleaner Sophia was a laugh. These apartments are a 30 min walk into town but they are also nice and quiet and relaxing. Can't wait to go back next year.
These apartments are fine by Greek standards (basic and clean). Olympic omit to give you a map reference for the apartments as they are not on the brochure Sidari map - they are half way to Perolades (a good 30 minute walk to the outskirts of Sidari and 40 to the town centre) For the lazy there is always a taxi to town for 5 euro. Road is fairly dark at night in places (especially if you go over the mountain) but a small torch (and light coloured clothes) will at least let the cars see you. Owners Jasmin and Takis are very friendly though they tended to close the bar if everyone went off to town for dinner - happened 2 or 3 times in our fortnight.
hiya folks
we are heading to sidari on 3rd sept..can't wait!!
just found this site..which is really useful..especially about the apts.we are staying at the varvara apts..so do we need mozzie plug ins??any chance of owners allowing late check out times??
will we need floodlights for walking back to apts at night??
heard that san stephano is lovely..is that the opposite direction??
would really appreciate any comments you have and any sound advice..cheers!!
Sandra Dorrans posting - accommodation is correctly called the VARVARA APARTMENTS.
Personally we thought the location was excellent. Only 15 - 20 minutes walk from Sidari but please go the other way as Sidari is awful. Lovely and quiet, even tortoise in the garden!
Pool and grounds excellent, apartments basic but clean but only a single hand towel per person which was our only big minus point.
Have just returned from these apartments which provide a very peaceful holiday. The apartments are very basic but are very clean and if there are any problems you just need to say to Jasmine and it will be sorted by the following day. The apartments are a 30min walk to Sidari town centre and therefore not suitable for thoses less able. The road can be particularly dangerous as the car drive past at extreme speeds. The brouchur suggest that a torch is required at night, i found that a small torch was useless as it was very dark walking amongst trees. Overall I had a enjoyable holiday and the owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definately visit these apartments again though probably not in October.
Need some information about the above apartments, is the name correct or is the Varvara apartments
