hi , Does anyone know the website address for the Olive Grove Apartments on Sidari, not been for a few years, but we have seen the Olive grove through its various names changes, we started going when it was the Sofie apartments, then Joannas, now its the olive grove, but i have lost the web address. anyone wanting to go there, its brilliant.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Olive Grove Apartments in June 2005. We were really impressed with the accomodation which was spacious and very clean. Yanni, Katerina and Costas were really friendly and thoroughly looked after us. The pool is a nice size (with a jacuzzi!!!) and not too deep which made it fairly safe for children. The poorside bar was really reasonably priced; we ate there most days and some evenings and Yanni was always showing the latest movies! The appartments are also close to a small fairly secluded beach. We loved the quiet location of the appartments which are only 15 mintues walk from the busy centre of Sidari, but there were still plenty of tavernas, bars and shops very close. We would definetly go back to the Olive Grove if visiting Corfu again.
YASSOU DARLINGS!
Just got back home from the Olive Grove today, and we are missing it
already, and can't wait to go back in June (we booked it at the
internet cafe in Sidari while we were there!).
Yanni and Katerina are fantastic, and really friendly people, as are
all their family. Costas behind the bar was such a great bloke and
really friendly, and his cocktails went down a treat.
The apartment we had was spatious, clean and we could step over the
terrace wall onto a sun lounger by the pool. The food is brilliant -
just as good as some of the restraunts in town. The noise from the bar
isn't all that bad, and Yanni usually turns the outside speakers off
before it gets too late anyway.
The beach just down the road is brilliant, though sometimes you might
have to get there early or miss out on getting a sun lounger!
There is a supermarket just across from the Apartments, where you can find all you could really need.
There were quite a lot of wasps around this year, as well as mosquito's, but thankfully they didn't ruin our holiday.
Roll on June!
Stuart and Jayne
We stayed at the Olive Grove Apartments from 1 to 15 August and we had a very good time there. The apartments are situated on the outskirts of Sidari which is a good thing if you don't want all the noise! They are only a 2 minute walk from the loveliest little cove with ideal swimming conditions for all the family, although there was a bit of seaweed at times - but this didn't spoil things.
The apartments are spacious and clean - brilliant shower - lots of pressure and hot water! We were lucky enough to have double-glazing which kept out any noise (which was just as well as we were above the bar) but I'm not sure all the apartments have this. However, apart from Barbecue night, there was never too much noise in the bar. The air conditioning is extra but worth every penny. Everyone was very friendly, charming and extremely helpful. Katarina and Yanni run a good ship and they were perfect hosts. The pool is lovely and the sun beds free (unlike in other places). In the evenings they had films on which my youngest son enjoyed very much. The restaurant is very good if you don't want to go into town - and extremely reasonable in price.hiya everyone i got back from corfu last week and i thought olive grove was excellent it was my first time staying there and going to corfu and i had the best time ever. i thought katrina was really funny and very mad and ithought yanni was really nice and also i loved there daughter she was very funny and sweet. costos was very funny aswell he made me laugh loads because of all the tricks he used to play on me and my family.
Yassou Katerina and Yannis! Suzy and i are really missing Sidari, but im sure we will be back at some point! Olive Grove is situated in a lovely location, just near a secluded beach. The pool is great, especially the jacuzzi! Can not fault the rooms, it was home from home. Katerina and Yannis are the perfect hosts, lots of fun and we both wish were back with them. ill have to go now or ill cry! Miss you all XXX
Just got back from Olive Grove this evening and can only agree with the previous good comments. Katerina had asked me to spread the word to people who have booked or are planning to book for October that the bar and restaurant will definitely be open. Apparently some people have had letters from their tour operator saying that it will be closed, Katerina says "This is a BIG LIE darlings", so go ahead, book and have a fantastic time - and don't yawn for goodness sake!!
Yazo Darlings!
Yazo Darlings
It should have been 05.08.05 not 05.07.05
We stayed at the Olive Grove in August last year and we will be there
I need to know a way of contacting an old (very old!!) friend made in Corfu in the mid 60's. Is there a Schools Reunited board or something similar or someone who can trace whereabouts of families. I'm doubting you can guide me but I just thought it might be worth asking. Thanks
10th June 2005 - 25th June 2005
We stayed at the Olive Grove Apartments (First Choice) in Sadari. We went at the end of May 2005 and the weather was lovely. The resort is really nice with great beaches, loads of restaurants & shops, a good nightlife with plenty to do. Olive Grove was a lovely place to stay - great accommodation, clean, spacious, well equipped, the pool and bar area was lovely and they made the nicest food and drink. Smiley Breakfast 3 euros - you cant beat it - great way to start the day. Yanni and Katerina are lovely people and they really do make your stay great. I do not have a bad word about any of the holiday - its only an hour transfer from the Airport. The Apartments are in a nice quite area with everything you need two seconds down the road. The main "Strip" is a 5-10min walk which really is nothing and the beach is a stone throw away.
We really enjoyed all the food - we reccommend Cactus Jacks its a mexican but they offer plenty of other types of food - you must have the rib&chicken - looooooooooooooooovely. Loads of bars that offer good music, quizzes, shows and films to watch. You must visit this resort and stay at the Olive Grove, it is great for families and couples, we will definately be going back.Hi, just got back from the Olive Grove off our honeymoon, have to say we had a great time and Katarina, Yanni and family made us welcome. The food is great and the atmosphere is friendly, Katarina especillay is always smiling in the morning and will sort you out her special Greek coffee for that hangover!!
FANTASTIC!!!!!!
FANTASTIC!!! We loved our stay at the Olive Grove The family who own it are really nice people and make you feel welcome and very at home. The apartments are immaculate Very clean and modern. The pool area is very clean and the pool is well looked after( however was very very cold in may). Just past the apatments is a small beach very very nice. If you go to Sidari you Must visit sunset beach its about a 45 min walk (or get a taxie for 8 euro)it is beautiful when the sun sets.
Need contact details for Greg at the Oh La La Bar, Sidari. My husband Colin worked closely with Greg and unfortunately has lost his contact details over the years. If anyone could help that would be great.
This is a message for anyone who remembers Colin Carson who worked at the Oh La La Bar back in the early 1990s. Colin was Scottish and worked closely with Greg. I am his wife Jackie and we are desperate to get in touch with Greg so say hello and talk about old times and perhaps the future. Would be great to hear from anyone who knows how we can contact him.
Well, where do i begin?

Have just returned from the Olive Grove apartments on the 11/10/2004, had an absolutely brilliant time, Yanni, Katerina and spyros made the holiday even better,The apartments are lovely, the food is georgous, Katerina is the best cook in Sidari. Cannot find words to say how much we enjoyed our stay. We had brilliant weather, high 80's every day, pool a bit cold this time of year, but ask Yanni to put the jacuzzi on and it takes the sting off a bit.Loved every minute of it and are missing everybody already, Yanni and Katerina's daughter is delightful and beautiful, thankyou all for a brilliant holiday. Love from Lin,Bruce, Donna & Kevin. See you all in June next year.
Hi, Arrived back from staying at the Olive Grove Apts on the 1st October 2004. Thanks to Yannis & Katrina and also Spiros for making us welcome. The apartments are very clean and the room we had was vary spacious. Great movies and pool table kept us occupied when it was raining. Excelent beach just down the road also supermarket and tavernas close by. If anyone thinking of staying here i would highly recommend it. Darren
Me and my girlfriend have just landed back in the uk this afternoon 27/9/04 from 2 of the best weeks hols in my life, the olive grove apartment are the best apartments i have ever been in abroad and the apartment was cleaned daily and towls and linen done every other day :-)The sunday bbq is a real must but just dont yawn at the bar!! and the Oh la la bar is a great place for a night out!! the village restaraunt was also fantastic andf highly recomend anything from the greek menu and it was really good value for money.......we were so impressed we just cant wait to go back
Back home after a 2 week stay in Olive Grove. Yanni, Katerina and Spiros were very friendly and we had a terrific time. The beach down the road from the apartments was lovely, a far cry from the main beach in Sidari, which we were not too keen on. We were not too far away from the main resort but far enough not to be disturbed. The BBQ night on Sunday was great fun and I am very nervous about yawning when I am out now in case I am made to drink a Tequila slammer! The supermarket down the road from the apartments sold alcohol at a very cheap rate and the Hawaii Restaurant around the corner had very large portions, a huge range of food, including indian and good value for money. Thomas the waiter was also good fun. I would not hesitate about recommending these apartments, as everything about them was as I expected from the comments received prior to our visit. We may well make a return trip.
We had a great time.I have a five year old Oliver who was treated as part of the family. The two bedroom apt that we had was of the older type but very large and four balconies to choose from.Katerina if you are reading this sorry we never got to say goodbye.Thank You all for a great holiday.See you again.

A MESSAGE FOR SAMANTHA LEY
I THINK THE 2 BED ROOM APPARTMENTS ARE ON THE BLOCK WITH THE BAR (THE ONE THAT IS IN THE PICTURE) APPARENTLY THEY ROOMS ARE REALLY BIG!
ANGELA D
Me, my aunt and my mum stayed in a two bed apartment in July. It was right above the bar and was very spacious. It wasnt new, but it was very clean and cleaned every day, with fresh towels etc. I wouldnt worry too much about the other comments. The whole place looked fine to me and every one seemed to be really enjoying themselves.
You will have a super time. There is a lovely little sandy bay beach area at the bottom of the lane that the olive grove is in, it has sunbeds and parasols and pedalos. Really lovely and much nicer than the main sidari beach in my opinion.
Wheezie
I haven't actually been yet!! My family and I are going in September (can't wait!). There are 5 of us and we are staying in a 2 bed appartment (with sofa bed in living area). After reading all the comments on the Hotel and area it sounds fab and the owners sound lovely. But we did pick up on the comments about the old accommodation block. Can anyone tell me which blocks the 2 bed appartments are in?!! Thanks
We have been to the Olive Grove for many years. Yanni and Katerina are superb hosts, and make you feel a part of their family. Food is excellent and the pool area is great. Great fun and entertainment is put on for the guests and the appartments are fine. We had great maid service and clean towels and bed linen regularly. There are older appartments there which we were in for the first time, and they do need upgraded slightly, but they were kept clean. We will be back soon hopefully September, and we will definately be back next year! Our whole family had a great time.
My boyfriend Rob and I returned from Olive Grove a week ago and missed it from the moment we stepped on English ground! Our apartment was cleaned everyday, that is the bins changed and floor mopped with sheets and towels changed in the middle of the week. The pool and bar area was brilliant with a big screen and pool table. The relaxing atmosphere before the schools broke up helped us enjoy our holiday and relax more. The food in the bar is also brilliant and very good value. Yanni, Katerina, their beautiful daughter and Spiros were fantastic and made our holiday such fun and so enjoyable. Many nights were spent drinking until the early hours with Yanni and Spiros, and playing Yanni’s drinking games. Oh La La bar was a great night out even if we were soaked by the staff with ice cubes and water guns! The BBQ is a good night and great day out for us was the beach party (where my towel was ruined by Yanni pouring tomato juice over me- thankfully it washed out!).
Our holiday at Olive Grove was fantastic and we loved every minute. The apartments are close to a supermarket, a small beach and some bars and restaurants. The location is perfect because it is close enough to the main part of Sidari but not too close to be disturbed by any noise. We hope to return next year as we feel no other holiday could possibly match it!
just got back on the 17th of july from the olive grove, we stayed for 2 weeks. i have to say we did not get what we were expecting, for anyone who has never been before there is 3 building which arent all owned by the same people, the building we were in wasn't great compared to the others, our room was very small, the bed and cupboards had a strong smell of damp and the floor was really dirty, we didnt recieve clean towels for the last week and half of our stay which wouldnt have bothered me if we would have known and i could have washed them myself, and the bedding wasnt changed as frequently as we were told either which has kind of put me off going there unless i get a room in the other building. apart from the room the pool area was lovely and the pool was so clean. the area surrounding olive grove was perfect for us, there is a beach 2mins walk away and your only 5mins walk from town centre, yanni and katirina who run the apartments where very lovely and helpful and there daughter was absolutly beautiful. hope no one is put of by what i said cos we didnt spend much time in the room anyway but thought i better tlet people know as we werent warned
I've just got back from a weeks stay with my mum and auntie. We had the best holiday ever there and I've just booked to go back again in August with my husband.
The Olive Grove is lovely and very well situated, away from the main road. There is a supermarket two mins away and the bars etc are also minutes away. The beach at the end of the road is nestled in a small bay and is really beautiful, much nicer than the main Sidari beach which seemed to be ankle deep and seaweedy.
Louise
hiya every1!!!remember me and emma !!!the olive grove is really good!!!me and emma would like to say sorry bout the noise we caused one night!if u do visit the olive grove u must go to the bbq cause its amazin!!!!and u must drink the ouzo!!!!!oh u must go to cheers and saxaphones bcus there quality !!!every1 at the olive groove is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo friendly !!!!!!!!so if u have any worries about going to stay at the olive grove don't bcus everythin is excellent!!! oh and yanni och aye the noo !!!!!!hope every1 is well and hope to see you all very soon lots of luv fae lesley x
Just got back from a week in the Olive Grove, if you would like a great holiday with a really friendly warm family get yourself off to the travel agents now and book up. Yanni, Katerina and their beautiful daughter Delatine are fantastic hosts as is Spiros the barman. The apartments are excellent and not situated near any busy roads, there is a supermarket about 2 mins away if you should need anything and plenty of places to eat and drink, i recommend Sweet Apple to eat out. If you go make sure u visit the Panarama Resturant at Sunset Beach, you'll never ever forget it. Can't wait to go back.
Just got back from a week at the Olive Grove and it is by far the best holiday I have had. Went with my boyfriend and we both loved every minute.
Yanni and Katarina are such great people and their daughter is the cutest little girl!
The apartments are lovely and they have a great cleaner!!
Had some great laughs at the bar until the early hours! Be careful not to yawn or you will be in for a shock!!!
Promised to go back in September and we can't wait! Would recommend it to anyone.
If you are looking to hire a scooter out be sure you have your bike license or you are restricted to a 50cc on a normal driving license. Recommend Interride two English blokes who run it, very resonable prices!
To Yanni and Katarini: We know you will be reading this-can't wait to see you again in September. Thanks for making it such a great holiday. Winnie and Carly xx
Myself and my girlfriend katie went to the Olive Grove apartments from 10-24 May 2004. The time from the airport took over 2 1/2 hours as we were one of the last stops so when the brochures say 1 hr there talkin crap.we got to the apartments mid-afternoon, the welcome was overwelming. from start to finish Yanni and Katerina (the owners) did everything they could to make us feel welcome and relaxed. and their little daughter Theoletti (who is now 4) provided lots of funny entertainment. the apartments are aboout a ten minute walk from the main strip with most the popular bars being there, its even shorter if you walk along the beach. even though it was only mid May, temperatures were creeping towards the 30c mark, although quite strong wind did take the heat away for the fist few days it was still pleasant. Yanni's BBQ on a sunday is a must... his home made greek sausage is to die for (and his shot mixes). WARNING: the pool can be bloody FREEZING as it has no heating but it is refreshing when youve been in the sun allday. There are a few buildings and bars being built at this time but i guess this is to try and get them ready intime for the busy period. it doesnt bother you that much. Scooters were good fun, cheapest i hired one for was £7 for the day from a place called interbike... about 50m from the olive grove. (make sure you get a bike with fully comp insurance, otherwise your only insured 3rd party and your holiday insurance may not cover you) we found the best places to eat; The three little pigs, Cactus jacks, Roof garden. best bars; Calypso, shakers, and ofcourse 'cheers' which is owned by Yanni's brother. YANNI KATERINA and LIL' THEOLETTI, thanx for making our holiday so special.
My partner and i have been to olive grove, sidari 3 years running, we cant imagine not going its brilliant! The people, food, weather and night life is fantastic. If you want to party there are tons of bars and clubs and if you want a quiet one try sunset beach restaurent. My travel agents dont have olive grove registered on their system any more so if any one can tell me how they booked please contact me on Diane.cantillon@ntlworld.com
Thank you x
I AM GOING TO THE OLIVE GROVE APPARTMENTS IN JULY WITH MY FIANCE AND I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT THE AREA SURROUNDING TH APPARTMENTS IS LIKE AS WE ARE AFTER A QUIET HOLIDAY BUT NOT TO QUIET. CAN ANYONE HELP?
I am booked to go to Sidari in Sept 04 with my family, and I have had mixed feed back on the resort. Can anyone who has been there with a family, please advise on what you think.
Just to let everybody who's going to the Olive grove know that I thought the studios are lovely, I couldn't comment on the 1 bedroom apts though as they are in a different block.
Yianni and Katerina who run the olive grove are really lovely, but don't try Yianni's shot drinking game cos its dangerous!
Anyway the buiding work can be seen but there are no noises, fans are available to hire and there is also air conditioning. All in all a lovely place to spend your holiday!
Reply to Phil Hollingsworth - we are booked to go to Olive Grove in August 2004 also. We have been advised there is air conditioning subject to a local charge.
Hi there i am booked into the olive grove in sidari in aug 04. Does anyone know if they have air con there or can u rent fans from there?
Thanks
Hi everyone!
We have just come back from a week at Olive Grove. We weren't sure what to expect with regards to the building work but we didn't even notice any despite it going on behind our appartment!
It is very close to a gorgeous little beach - not to be missed! We had some great meals (the pizza in The village is to die for!), but we were unimpressed with Nicolas restaurant bar. To all those people who are really worried about the so-called building work, the foundations and main structure of the bulding have been finished and they are now trying to put up a wooden roof, but they can't due to the IMMENSE HEAT that stops them from doing anything.
HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY :-)
to geoff we stayed nearby in the hawaii the building works were opposite us,you shouldnt have any problems noise wise, the greeks dont believe in starting work early or finishing late.we barely heard anything, and try angelinas resaurant, the food is excellent, and if you linger near the outside menu you are likely to get a free bottle of house wine.i dont drink red but tried theirs and it was lovely.try the stifado, infact try anything on the menu it is good, also no service charge so we used to round up the bill to the nearest € just to be polite.
melani varley
We have just came back from two weeks in the olive grove, there is building work taking place nearby however the noise is to a minimum and shouldnt affect your holiday in any way. Geoff
Im booked to stay in the olive grove apts in August but have just received a letter from Manos saying that there may be building work next to it. Im just wondering if anyone has stayed there recently who could tell me how bad the building work actually is, because I've still got enough time to change my apartments if I'm going to be woken up at 5am every morning!
Wow what a great place to stay - I recomend it to everyone! We loved it!
just got back from our second trip to sidari and stayed at the olive grove and we werent disappointed..! On our last stay in 2000 the olive grove were still under construction so we decided to book them for this year. Apart from the brand new 9 studio block and brand new two bedroom apartments the owners have taken over sophies apartments where our two bedroom apartment was situated, slightly older than the olive grove but just as impressive. Our apartment overlooked the fantastic pool area and to be honest was the biggest apartment we've stayed in, with a huge kitchen area, huge living area(sadly without any furniture.. but what the hell with four balconies to choose from who wants to sit indoors anyway!!!!!) and two very spacious bedrooms all with excellent storage. All apartments/studios cleaned on a regular basis and cannot be faulted! Excellently located only 50metres from a lovely sandy cove and 50metres from the bars, shops and supermarket. Recommend the Face bar(excellent food and reasonably priced).
