Myself and my girlfriend katie went to the Olive Grove apartments from 10-24 May 2004. The time from the airport took over 2 1/2 hours as we were one of the last stops so when the brochures say 1 hr there talkin crap.we got to the apartments mid-afternoon, the welcome was overwelming. from start to finish Yanni and Katerina (the owners) did everything they could to make us feel welcome and relaxed. and their little daughter Theoletti (who is now 4) provided lots of funny entertainment. the apartments are aboout a ten minute walk from the main strip with most the popular bars being there, its even shorter if you walk along the beach. even though it was only mid May, temperatures were creeping towards the 30c mark, although quite strong wind did take the heat away for the fist few days it was still pleasant. Yanni's BBQ on a sunday is a must... his home made greek sausage is to die for (and his shot mixes). WARNING: the pool can be bloody FREEZING as it has no heating but it is refreshing when youve been in the sun allday. There are a few buildings and bars being built at this time but i guess this is to try and get them ready intime for the busy period. it doesnt bother you that much. Scooters were good fun, cheapest i hired one for was £7 for the day from a place called interbike... about 50m from the olive grove. (make sure you get a bike with fully comp insurance, otherwise your only insured 3rd party and your holiday insurance may not cover you) we found the best places to eat; The three little pigs, Cactus jacks, Roof garden. best bars; Calypso, shakers, and ofcourse 'cheers' which is owned by Yanni's brother. YANNI KATERINA and LIL' THEOLETTI, thanx for making our holiday so special.
The only place which offers you half a dead cow in a burger bun... wel, thats what it felt like! the portions are just incredible, and the food very fresh and tasty, excellent service
this was the place which served the best mixed grill out of the 21 restaurants i went to, great variety, efficiency and service
