I hope you enjoy your holiday but remember a holiday is what you make it if you look for faults you can always find them where ever you go .to be honest joylife is so far out when people get there they are disappointed ,i was reading some post saying eat across the road at the hotel which made me laugh as when we where there people from across the road where coming to joylife to eat you cant please everyone ,we go three weeks on friday so i will update you when we get back
it looks really nice so i dont think we'll have any worries! hope u have a fantatstic time on your hols and thanks for your help
My Friend has been going for six years and mum three years and me two years and the standard is like in any other apartments they change sheets once a week like many others do ,as for the bins our was change ever day but we tried to do it our selfs as we loved the maid she is vert hard working ,I honestly dont think you have any worries ,the only problem I can see is it a long walk to Sidari its self but you can ring from joylife for a taxi the number is always there
Ive booked to go to the joy life in july with my boyfriend. just a bit worried readin back at comments saying it isnt very clean etc... can any1 let me know how often bins are emptied, sheets are changed things like that? also how much is it 2 hire sunbeds at the beach in sidari? thank you

me and my grilfriend are coming to the joylife in the middle 2 weeks of july, we were just wondering if there was any pictures of the apartments/studios anybody as to offer as the travel agent didnt have many to offer just the one. all the comments on the joylife seem to be in the plus and a highly rated place to stop in the sidari resort. thanks.
looking at some comments people arent happen with joylife but I will tell you joylife is very very clean very very friendly and very very helpful I think some people would moan at anything.
I am writing this for friends we met on holiday and yvonne ask me to say these apartments where brillant and yvonne and dave will be back next year because they loved it that much
dave and yuonne
oh yea 4 got to say go to sunset beach 1 night just make sure there b4 it happens and have a camera ready!
my boyfriend and me have just got back from a weeks stay in joylife and it is a gr8 place i dont think any 1 could truly fault it. rooms where small and basic but all we needed, the bar was gr8, especially if u didnt want to walk into sidari (ask makis for a coktail called crocodile!) great pools, great food and drink, even betta weather what more do u need?! just beware of the wasps if u go sep/oct time!
Me and my boyfriend were here for the last 2 weeks in July and we both really loved it. The apartments were basic but clean and the pools were lovely. the staff were all really helpful and always recognised us and gave a friendly smile! although it was about 20 minutes walk from the town and beaches, it meant you got to know more people around the apartments which was really nice. the only thing i would complain about would be the rep, as he was very rude to us when we explained we didnt have the money to spend on the most expensive trips he was trying to make everyone get, and when we said all we wanted was the shopping trip to Corfu Town he added on 10 euros each to the price! my advice would definately be to book trips through the various travel agents in Sidari town as they are exactly the same trips at a fraction of the price. a visit to sunset beach (about 1 mile away) is a definite must as it was the most amazing sunset i've seen. we had a brilliant holiday, and would definately go back again!
We couldn't fault these apartments and we'd certainly go back.
The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful, the restaurant was good although the menu was a little limited but then it's only a short walk into the main town where you have plenty to choose from. If you do go into town at night do not walk back in the dark, the drivers do not slow down and the lighting is poor, but if you must walk at least have a torch as this did help.
my mum ask me to put this comment on she went to joylife last year and this year too unfortunally at christmas she took ill and has to have oxygen 20hrs a day she has a machine on asking costa if she could take the machine on holiday he answered of course when we arrived at joylife he came over and helped us carry our luggage to our room
I just came back from joylife a week ago from a 2 weeks fantastic holidays. Thats our second time in sidari and our first time in joylife ,i can honestly say its a brilliant place and YES joylife makes the diffrents. I just cant believe how people can be so hypocritical when they are on holidays and demanding and greedy when they come back from their holidays. You should be sooooo... happy for the amount of money you paid to stay in joylife as it is a hotel with selfcatering facilities which means... that in your holiday stay you SELF-CATER YOURSELF.As far i know next time you will book your holidays to a selfcatering hotel/apartments pay little more attetion to the brochure descriptions of the resort you are about to book and not only the price of it.Otherwise if you can afford it go all inclusive to a five star hotel and have 24/7 service. The time and duration of cleaning is something that the tour operator demands from a resort. As far a consern joylife was very nice, clean and very friendly a big thanks to the staff for the big effort they put to keep as happy and for the tolerance the show to people who try to get a lot more to what they gave or can give to their holidays.
yes but last year we stayed in other apartments in sidari and they never changed the sheets once i have sent comments to the head rep .i will say the rep was a big headed but when we where there he came early in the morning came back in the afternoon and some nights he was there my cousin has just come back as well she told me they didnt empty the bin in the toilet but as my hubby told her if our bin had been full we would have emptied the bin.
yes but i would have complained to the rep if they dont know they cant act upon it when we were there our sheets were changed twice once a week like i do at home and our bins where emptyed everyday but i felt sorry for the maid as she got not much money and only lived in a caravan so i used to empty my own bin .as for its run on a shoestring i know for a fact and not from joylife another apartment owner kosmar do not pay a lot of money you have to be honest it must be right as how can they be the cheapest we have booked for 4 of us next year and its cost 755 and friends of ours have paid 1196 for 2 of them.
totally agree but surely you expect cleanliness
there is a little saying you only get what you pay for the hotel across the road was alot more expensive to stay in
solution in the pool is not good enough it should be cleaned properly the place is run on a shoestring
i must agree the rep wasnt the best but while i was out there i had a accident and the rep could not do enough for me and while we where out there we met the head rep she was brill as for cleaning the pool i do know for a fact that costa put solution in at night about 2.00am after the children had gone to bed
returned from joylife on 2august cannot agree that these are well run apartments unless we was in the wrong joylife. staff all miserys bins not cleanedvery often and sheets changed once in a fortnight for a good day and night go to DAMIAS HOTEL across road.
well we were out there from the 14th june some morning it was 3.00am when we left the bar and the owners were brill with us they were very friendly and helpful something must have gone wrong since then. They even let my son(3 years old) sing twinkle twinkle on the mike. One night my friend and i where drinking shots with spiros and you could not wish for a better waiter than makus in a morning he just looked at us and knew what we wanted for breakfast so here hoping they will be alright next year.
14 of us have just returned from the Joylife on 30th July. The apartments were spacious and clean, although the cupboard which stored plates, cups etc smelled foisty. The pools were nice and clean, 1 of which situated right outside our balcony. The cleaner could have changed the bins and towels more often though and its abit distant from the main town if your looking to go out every night. We met some great people and have made loads of friends, but the family who run the Joylife didnt impress us much. We were told to go to bed at 2.30 a couple of nights as the were tired. If people are on holiday, they should be able to stay up in their own bar and have a few drinks, right? The times for hot water is also cut short, it only lasted round about half an hour every afternoon.
On the whole, the apartments are modern and kept really well and I suppose your holiday is what you make it, but friendly staff always make you feel safer; in our case, some of them were moody and arrogant. I would recommend the apartments for people looking for a quiet holiday who want to be away from the town centre.
we were out here from 14th june for two weeks met loads of new friends and i know for a fact that 13 of us have booked again for next year so joylife here we come
just got back two weeks ago and none of the 5 of us wanted to come home!everything was above excellent!a special thankyou to you all at joylife especially spiros, makis, and marrianna!had some wonderful nights!anyways yammas to you all!thanku again!defo cu soon! luv tash, tazz, lou, saz and lal x
I have stayed at Joy Life many times since 1991 and this year, as always, had a brilliant time thanks to Zoe, Kostas, & Spiros (this year helped by Mikas). Lovely place and lovely people who've worked really hard to make the Joy Life apartments what they are today. I only wish I could stay there forever. If anyone is going give my love to Sophie and her new baby and tell Kostas & Zoe I am practising my Greek every night in the hope of some improvement for next year!
also like to say that i just got bk and didnt wanna c*m home
i thought the whole accomidation was amazin everyone was so friendly aswell and i loved stayin there i would stay there again, but they could of made it better by cleanin it more often even tho it wasnt tht dirty
just got back had a brillant time the apartments were very spacious very friendly and the waiter marcus is a great lad
Stayed last year, had a great time. The staff were all very friendly looking forward to this year at the Joylife.
the picture in the brochure does not do the joy life justice.last year it was myself and my biker boy mate mick(not g*y or owt, honest) who stayed at joy's and costas's place for 2 brilliant weeks.we met up with 3 other couples from london, chesterfield, and leicester.the fact that we have all kept in touch is down to the friendly atmosphere that joy life sends out.it caters for familys and party folk too.dont ask questions just get booked in.p.s. i think its sofias wedding in may, joy's and costas's daughter.so take a present.
really nice, great pool, apartments basic but everything you need!
The apartments were spacious but very basic.
The pool and restaurant were very good.
The one thing I would warn about is the road into Sidari.....its a death trap, don't try and walk home after a night out ,get a taxi ( 5 Euro)
The courtesy room and booking for the courtesy room was a joke, the room was double booked several times..so it was over an hour before we could change and get ready for the airport pick up and to be honest I don't think the Staff were that bothered.
The fact we had to pay to use a dirty wet room...no towel provide was also a joke,we had to get changed outside because the room was that dirty.
There is no secure place to leave your suitcases, they are left outside at the back of the restaurant any one has access to them.which has got to be such a security risk.
If you travel with Kosmar, don't book the ' Greek Night' the food is terrible and there are several Pubs,Hotels in Sidari that can offer the same thing for a lot cheaper
just left a message would like to change and say everything was excellent not average!!
Came back from the Joylife apartments a few weeks ago and are wanting to go back straight away! The rooms were spacious and clean, although the maid was slightly moody! The pools were also clean and everyone was very friendly, waiting staff- Nikos and barstaff- Spiros, not only very good looking, but very friendly aswell! The picture of the apartments do not do the place justcie as many extensions etc have occured since, including a gorgeously decorated dining area! would reccommend anyone to come here, you will have a holiday you will not forget, whatever you're looking for, sidari has a bit for everyone!
We had a brilliant holiday last week at the Joylife Apartments, the owners, Kostas, Zoe, Spiros were all lovely as was the unforgetable Nicos, not to forget the best cook in Corfu, Maria - Maria we want you to come to England. We are definately going to re-book for next year, good luck to everyone at the Joylife and all the best for the future - see you next august, Kirsteen and Stuart
Hi all, myself and my girlfriend have just returned from a weeks holiday at Joy Life and we both agree how superb it was. The complex and facilities are excellent with the owners and staff making you feel as if you are part of the family. I must mention two people especially, Spiros ( the owners son ) and Nikos the mad ( but extremly funny ) waiter, thank you both for makong our stay memorable. The food at the complex is superb but if you do happen to eat out try The Village in the Canal D'Amour area and Yianis up in Peroulades village.
This is the third year running that i have been to JOY LIFE,and every year gets better.If you want a quiet time try the Melitsa area near the Canal d'amour.If you like being a party animal Sidari center is for you.The family who own JOY LIFE are Joy,mother;Costas,father;Sofia,daughter and last but not least Spiros the little baby boy.Please say hello to them from me,Mik from Bolton.HAVE A GOOD ONE;
hi ive just landed back from my brilliant holiday on corfu island and what made it so great was the joylife appartments not only is it clean and safe, but the staff are so freindly and willing to help in any way they can.
Food is wonderful there and out of the whole holiday it was at the appartments that my mum and i had the best meals and they are such a bargin price.
i cant wait to go out there in a few months and its made me realise what a great and safe place corfu is.
my parents have just come back and we have booked for next year they are friendly food was good if you like time round the pool it is ideal .you can get a taxi for 5 euros down into sidari
Hey, my name is Becky and i'm planning on going to the joylife appartments and studios with 4 other girlfriends, we are all 18 and are looking for nice beaches, good food, good shopping and a couple of good bars and taverns. were not overly into clubs and so Sidari looks perfect. Just wondered if you think it would be good for us girls for a quiet break to have some fun and games before uni? and was wondering if there was a local bus service, and if the walk to the beach is along a main road, with houses/shops... and so on. as it says to bring a torch just worried about comming home late at night as five of us can't all share 1 taxi!? hmmm could cause some problems :S
any extra information and ideas of where to go could be very very useful as we plan to go next july and are booking in the next few weeks.
Many thanx Becky Jacques x
Just returned from a week at the Joylife. Fantastic apartments with 2 pools for adults and a child pool also. There is a jacuzzi on site (ask the management before you use it). Staff really friendly, and prices reasonable, breakfast is great 3.5 euros for sull english with tea and orange!, there is also not too much noise (even in the evening when the bar is still open - our apartment was directly above and it never disturbed us). Its a nice walk in the evening (roughly 20-30 mins depending on the pace into resort but if you cant handle it, its around 5 euros in a taxi, there is a reasonably priced supermarket about 5 mins away to stock up. Would recommend you turn right out the apartments and walk down towards the canal d'amour end...there are some great restaurants which you would miss out on (really traditional) and the ha'penny bar is a good place to stop (say hi to donna and catalina!)
Stayed at Kolonis Apartment 2mins down the road from Joylife. Joylife situated 20mins walk from Sidari town.On site is beautiful pool (not suitable for small children, no real shallow end)facilities clean. Small restaurant bar food wll cooked and good selection. Recommend you visit Three Little Pigs(great entertainment) and Engleys (opposite Rose garden) for great food.
