Re John McCann's request for info on Beach Star Hotel, Sidari.. We have just returned (yesterday) from Beach Star Apartments, which are owned by the hotel and closeby. Did go into the hotel, which is basic, but appeared to be clean, with friendly bar staff, but decor a little dated, but otherwise seemed okay. Location is fab!! especially if you like a peaceful location, but also handy 5 -10 min walk into the centre. No noisy discos nearby. Plenty to see and do, Try Vlasserino travel company on main street for tours, Phillipe the owner is extremely helpful.Hotel looks out onto sea and Albania Mountains, but also surrounded by lush countryside and mountains. Hotel pool is practically on the beach, which is a blue flag beach, water is shallow and therefore, safe for children. If prefer separate kid's pool, go to Orestis Bar where the pool is fab with a separate kids pool. Only complaint JMC reps no good and there is a 12 noon booking out time at the hotel with no late check out rooms available at all. A lovely walk is avail, if you turn right out of the hotel over the bridge and continue along path round bend (signposted camp site), fab typically Greek taverna located next to campsite in a lovely peaceful setting, and people are so nice and friendly. Hope this is useful. Also the Elysee restaurant is worth a visit, staff are great.. food is reasonably priced and good.
Considering for July 2003. Picture would help but general impressions of locality, resort and quality of accommodation would be welcome.
