I'm going to Alexis Apartments Sidari next year with my 2 girls 16 and 13 I've read the comments and it seems ok (with the exception of road)the noise won't bother us. I just want to make sure it's the right kind of place for, sun, swimming, eating out and entertainment. Although the price wasn't too bad it's 2 weeks out of the year and I don't want it to be a disappontment. Any don't do's would be appreciated and any recommendations would be gratefully received. It would also be nice to see some photos of the apartment other than those in a brochure (they don't seem to do the place justice. Looking forward to some responses.
Ive just come back from 2 weeks staying here with my boyfriend and we had the best time! Dont listen to the bad reports because we came on here 2 days before going and read bad reports, and we were really worried. When we got there, we couldnt understand what they were on about. Our room was good, yeah it was hot, but your in corfu, its gunna be! You can rent fans for really cheap and dont need to keep the full doors shut, just the shutters. The road wasnt very busy most of the time, and even when it was, it wasnt very noisy. There is a little noise coming from the bars and stuff, but theres going to be anywhere, people would complain if there was nothing to do! These people are just moaners. Obviously it depends on the type of people you are and the time that you go, but putting up with a bit of noise now & then isnt going to harm anyone, we didnt get woken up once! Beach and bars were lovely, everyone is really freindly. Just avoid the FRUIT AND DOGHNUT MAN at the beach because he totally rips you off! I would recommend this to anybody, all type of people and ages.
Firstly there were 13 people in our group none of which are old, moany or expect a palace! The holiday we had was a holiday from hell, ignore the good reviews of this apartment, these people have either been paid to speak highly of it or are completely barmy! If you like apartments which even rats would find unhygenic, along with the constant smell of urine and the urine stains on your bedsheets, the constant smell of sewage, along with the sewage that reguarly comes up through the drains in your bathroom and the most unhelpful apartment owners in Corfu then this is the perfect place for you. If you do go then dont say you wasn't warned!!
Just back from a week here and can't understand why some people hate the place! The studios were fine, ours was quite spacious. Food excellent (and reasonably priced), staff friendly, pool clean, location superb. (Less than 5 mins to a lovely beach and 2 mins to centre). The road (which had been described as like the M25) wasnt very busy.We were in the 'old' block near the toilets/bar yet did not have any problems with noise from people passing by or 'smells'. OK, the cleaners didn't do a lot of actual cleaning, but this seems to be the norm in Greece and they did at least come in every day and empty the bins. Noise from the bar and the town was not a problem at any time. (We were there when Greece won the football final so it won't get much noisier than that!!)We had a great holiday and would certainly go again. We can only presume that some people are very fussy or enjoy complaining.
hey does anybody no any web sites that have pictures of alexis pools studios or does any body whos been have any i can look at thanks, martin
Loved the Alexis - Great welcome, in the centre of the resort, good food and cheap beer(and lots of free ones as well)really nice apartments which were cleaned every day AND air con!!!
Yes the road was noisy but you cant have everything.
Anyone who disses Alexis is out of there mind! Yeh its basic but it's a Greek apartment, thats what there like. If your interested in living in luxury you should be staying in a hotel! Its a great place, with a lovely pool and the bar next door. Costa, Irene, Leo and Dora are the wonderful and Ive known them since I was a little girl-they always make you feel welcome! The food they serve is yummy-specially the chicken sarnie, ummm...
The only thing I can say about it is that the road next to it can get quite busy, particularly in August when theres alot of Greek from the mainland as wel as the regular tourists, but as long as you arent stupid, its not a problem!

I'm going on 23 July 2004 with my family!
hey im stopping in the alexis pools studios on the 23rd july and was wondering if anybody is staying there at the same time? let me no thanks martin!
Hi, just like to let you know i have just come back from Sidari, i stayed at Alexis Pool and it was really nice, very clean, family that run it(Costas & Irene)are lovely and look after you well. location is close to everything you need. the only thing to watch out for are the bikes and cars as its on a bit of a busy road they seem to think they are in a grand prix!!! The only complaint i have about the apartment was that if your at the back on the right hand side remember to hold your nose as you step on your balcony as the smelly river runs not far away. But overall a really nice holiday would go back again.
my girl friend and i have just booked to go to alexis pool studios we are going with another couple we are late 20/30s enjoy a drink and pubs /clubs..first thing i need to know is the location good for night life and secondly what is the accomodation like don t mind small but must be clean.. we are not snobs , just need some come back on the place i ve seen bad and good reports about the place ,, i feel that the bad reports my come from the older generation am i correct? please help !!!!
I feel that I must express my opinions about Alexis Pool Studios. Quite frankly a very disappointing holiday destination. Our down stairs room was situated on a busy road similar to the M25. The walk way to the bar and toilets was the path which ran past our balcony leaving us with little privacy. The shutters and windows had to remain shut to provide security, which in mid August was extremely uncomfortable!!! The room was dark and dingy. We got no sleep due to the empty, yet noisy bar. It was a mystery why the music was on so loud and so late as the bar was empty!! After complaining to Kosmar we were eventually moved upstairs to an upstairs furnace!! This room was furnished better with lovely views of the corrugated roof of the bar!! You could hear the main street of Sidari until four in the morning!! During one late brunch in the pool side bar we were introduced to a large rodent who had decided this was the place for him. After two weeks in the Alexis Pool Apartments we were both in need of a further holiday. We counted down the days until the end of our nightmare holiday like Robinson Crusoe did. Please do not make the same mistake as we did!!!!! Stay Away!!!!
have just arrived back from alexis pool studios , bar staff friendly , food good and reasonably priced.however , apartments are located on very busy road , noise loud and constant throughout the night , many of the apartments are located back to back with the bar area , we could not get to sleep some nights because all you can hear is billiard balls clattering away , and some very noisy laughter until the early hours , our apartment had the walkway from the bar running along the side of our wall , and the toilet block was next to our room.kosmar will only move you to another location if you pay 85 euros , about £60 , if you are foolish enough to go there , and have cause to complain , do not sign any disclaimers as they will ask you to , you will not be able to make claims after you leave.the mosquitos are a nightmare , they get in through ill fitting doors and windows.the state of the apartment was generally clean and tidy.
Just got back from staying at the Alexis Pool and would like to tell everyone how much my wife and I enjoyed our 2 weeks there. Alexis pool is well situated in the middle of the resort, the family Kostas who run the pool and bar were extremely friendly, the staff couldn't do enough, we would reccomend the Alexis to anyone.
Just got back from staying at the Alexis Pool and found it was a nice friendly apartment to stay in.The staff were nice and polite and as the apartments are practically brand new, everything was nice and clean. Our room was cleaned regularly and although we were centrally located the apartments werent too noisy. If you want a pleasant relaxed holiday (without too many frills)Sidari is ideal,it is very family orientated. All in all we enjoyed our weeks holiday.
Just got back from Sidari this morning, and stayed at these apartments. We have been to Sidari for the past 3 years, and have never stayed anywhere as bad as this. The apartment was very small (which we were ok about, as there is only 2 of us), but as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the smell of urine - which was coming from the bathroom. The bathroom smelt constantly for the whole of the 2 weeks. Wires were exposed in the room, and it was in a general bad state. It is meant to be a family resort, but we felt like we were on an 18-30's holiday, staying here. The first night, we encountered a young lad being sick over his balcony. Loud music and shouting was constantly coming from other apartments. As for the staff, they are extremely rude an unhelpful. We asked numerous times if we could keep the room until 6pm on our day of departure, and we were constantly being told to 'come back later'. When we did manage to reserve the room, they charged us 30 euro - about £25. Other apartments we have stayed in charge is no more than 10 euro. I definitely wouldn't stay here again - maybe it was just our room, but I couldn't put up with the smell for another 2 weeks. On a good note, if you are looking to stay right in the centre of Sidari, then these apartments are ideally located.
Please can you send me some info on what the Alexis pool studios are like? how many bedrooms etc
hi, i need to know location, cleanliness etc of Alexis Pool Studios. Any help greatly appreciated. Email me at pat.randle@ntlworld.com thanks
Me and my partner are staying at the Alexis Pool Studio Apartments in July - the Travel Agents recommended them, but I have read some really bad write ups about them - such as dirty, mouldy bathroom, very small apartments - things that we weren't told by Lun Poly when we booked. Is there anyone who has stayed there recently, and can give me reassurance! Also, how far away from the main town centre are the apartments? We were told 5 minutes??? Otherwise, I think I am going to change the apartments.
i am going to anemona apts on the 13 sept and require information on the location.
we have stayed in the alexis pool apartments 6 times and would recommed to anybody both single and families.there is a good size pool and the bar/snack bar is excellent.there is a wide choice on the menu and the staff in the bar are very friendly and make u feel welcome no matter who you are.
