Just got back from 2 weeks at Yannis Village. Apartments are 10 mins walk from main street which keeps the night noise at bay. Local buses take you cheaply to Corfu and Roda and other nearby places and the timetables are on the bus stops but the stops are only on one side of the road, if you want to go in the other direct cross the road and wait on the opposite side to the bus stop.
Staff at Yannis are great but the entertainment is mostly of the bingo type, but they don't mind you not joining in and let you do your own thing. Food at Yannis and locat Taverna's is wonderful. Olympic Restuarant in the centre is a must - the waiters suddenly break into dance routines about every hour and they do fire dancing and swing from the rafters - we went three times c. €10 for a meal, jug of wine and a free liquer plus entertaintment - you can't beat it.
If you go with Thomas Cook and your rep is Kelly be prepared for her not to know anything you ask her. If she looks like she's having a bad day don't worry - that's how she always is!
Have a great time
Yannis Village is a fantastic place to stay and Tellis the owners son is as always a perfect gentleman and a generous host. Keep up the good work and see you in August 04.
Have any of you been to the aqua park?
What was it like?
Have any of you been in september?
What was the weather like?
Inreply to Kayleigh Southall (August 10, 2003). there were safety deposits in Sidari town centre free of charge although i am unable to remember the name of the shop, Our Rep informed us of this, so it may be worthwhile asking your Rep
We have just arrived back 9th August 2003. the apartments are excellent only 5 minutes from beach and 10 from main centre of sidari.Yannis & Kosmas were lovely people and the apartments and grounds were immaculately kept, they had movie's showing every night in the bar which the kids enjoyed
Lots to do in sidari, although we found eating out and drinks rather expensive. car hire very reasonable only 107 euros for 3 days (shop opposite 3 brothers hotel in main street), we visited Corfu town, Kassioppi, Paleokatriska and Barbati resorts. excellent shopping in Corfu town but again prices not as cheap as we expected. We much preferred Sidari as the place to stay for a family as everything is on hand and it was quiet on an evening where we stayed.the exchange rate was slightly better over there at 1.42 to the £. althugh we did exchange at 1.39 in england.
Overall had a great time and thanks to Yannis and Kosmas for a comfortable stay.
Can any one give me information on SAFES?
Family group of 4 adults and 2 kids went here in july 2003. We had a great time, the staff were friendly and helpful and advised us places to eat and visit in Sidari. Appt's are very clean with good facilities and away from the noise of the town. Good pool and staff join in and make sure kids and adults get involved (thanks for the hangovers, Ben, Tom and Telli). Karly, the JMC rep was a sweetie and so helpful. we will be back for sure. Aqualand is about an hour away and cheaper to book with travel agents in Sidari (JMC prices were much higher).
I have stayed at Yiannis lots of times as a kid from about 5 to 15 and went back a couple of years ago. FANTASTIC place as i remember. Is telis still there? we lost contact with him what a dude! Sidari is a brilliant place with just the right mix of things to do and Yiannis is a great place to stay. Go there and enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO STAY AT YANNIS VILLAGE.EXCELLENT APARTMENTS,SUPERB POOL.
10 MIN WALK FROM SIDARI TOWN,JUST FAR ENOUGH TO KEEP THE NOISE OUT.
MANY THANKS TO YANNIS,TELE,AND TOM....
I would like the contact details for Yannis apartments (Siari, corfu) as i went there last year and had a brilliant time. Unijets prices are too high for me this year (no studio apartments left, only 1 or 2 bedroomed apartments and as a single girl i cant afford that!) and i would like to contact Yannis or Kosmos direct, and see if they have any rooms avalilable at a cheaper price!
Thanks guys!
Our party of 11 of all ages loved these quiet apartments with the friendly staff and excellent food
Just arrived back 22/07/2002.Quiet location but only 10 minutes to center of Sidari. Clean and tidy. Excellent pool with kids paddling pool. Friendly staff (Kosmas and Georgina)and owner(Yannis). 2 Minutes from Beach front(not main Sidari Beach). Excellent food at pool bar. Warning: Please be aware that if you buy and eat your own food around the pool area (other than the pool bar food), Kosmas (we became good friends) the pool bar manager can be fined 3000 euros (2000 pounds). Spot checks by Tax inspectors are frequent. This is the same for all pool bars in Corfu. This is not stressed by the tour operator.
WE'VE BEEN TWICE, VERY FRIENDLY, NICE CLEAN APARTMENTS, A 10-15 MIN WALK FROM THE NOISE OF THE TOWN
