We have just returned from 14 nights at the Afrodite Hotel. 13th September - 27th 2004.
The hotel is a small family run hotel, which is clean and very tidy.
The staff are all very friendly and will help you on any matter.
Our room faced the main road, and was clean and of good size.
Towels were changed every 4th day which was disappointing.
The only problem we had with the room was the noise from those motorbikes, and it would appear the local lads do not care about how much noise they make. We do understand that this is not a problem of the hotels, but something should be done.
We had three evening meals at the hotel which were excellent.
Breakfast which was included was o.k., but at times we fancied a change and had the good old cooked breakfast.
A great location for those with rooms at the front of the hotel.
The town of Roda is commercial with shops which sell all the usual copies of everything.
A good choice for food, with one or two exceptions which we just walked past.
Plenty of bars, of which nearly every night and at daytimes was showing football. We were on holiday and ignored all the football. You go away to get away from all of that.
The beach at the front of the hotel was good and the youg lady who supplied our sun beds etc was very helpful and polite.
The Pool at the hotel was good and the staff at the pool bar very helpful, polite and will always have a chat.
The only problem with the pool bar was the very occassional smell from a sewer, but this did not spoil our days by the pool.
A good hotel booked with Thomas Cook.
No problems with the rep.
Just those damn bikes.
Would go again, but only if we have room at front of hotel.
Well done afrodite and thanks.

WE HAVE FREQUENTED THE APHRODITE FOR THE LAST SEVEN YEARS AND THINK EVERYTHING ABOUT THE HOTEL IS FANTASTIC. THIS YEAR WE GOT MARRIED IN ACHARAVI AND HAD OUR RECEPTION IN THE APHRODITE RESTAURANT. THE FOOD WAS SUPERB AND TAKIS AND APHRODITE WERE STARS. AS FOR HAROULA, SHE WAS SO HELPFUL ORGANISING EVERYTHING WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT HER. THE WHOLE FAMILY ARE SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND THE HOTEL CANNOT BE FAULTED - YOU NEVER FEEL THE NEED TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE ONCE YOU HAVE DISCOVERED THE APHRODITE.
Response to Nicola Cottrell - try and have a look at the DIRECT HOLIDAYS brochure as you'll find it's about £150 per person cheaper than Panorama! We've just booked to go with them on the 2nd May 2005 for two weeks and it's only £598 for both of us - Panorama quoted us £898!!!!!
I think I have seen it in one of the Thomson brochures, but I'm not sure which one and also in the Panorama brochure.
need to know how we go about booking holidays at the hotel aphrodite as there are no travel agents that are doing it, help would be appreciated, thanx!!!!
Which company can you book with for the Aphrodite Hotel in Roda, Corfu. It would be vey much appreciated if someone could contact me a.s.a.p Many thanks.
The hotel was one that we have wanted to stay for a few days over the 2 weeks we spend in May in the resort of Kalami. We did stay in May 2003 and we were not disappointed, the room overlooked the sea and the place was spotless. The staff were unbelivably friendly, they cannot do enough for you and the English breakfast was to die for. We do eat Greek but we saw someone eating one and had to try it. The pool bar snacks were great value and it was so relaxing sat in the sun and just chill.
We visited the Aphrodite for the sixth consecutive year.To us it is the best in the resort. The family and staff make us feel as if we are part of them, from Takkis at reception Spiros at the bar, Haroula, Aphrodite, and the others, just wonderful people.
I would advise anyone to go to Roda, The hotel is spotless, Maria and her team, keep it in an excellent state of cleanliness.
Maybe im biased, but go see fot yourself.

Just come back after two weeks 2/5 to 16/5 - it was brilliant. We are planning to go back in October or next May. The hotel was a bit quiet for the first weekend as there were only 15 of us there but it started to fill up from the Monday onwards. All the staff were very helpful and made us very welcome - in fact they couldn't do enough for us. The hotel also has its own souvenier shop which is very reasonably priced compared to other shops in the resort. The hotel itself (and the pool area) was absolutely spotless, was right on the beach and the food in the pool bar, snack bar and restaurant was excellent. Continental breakfast was the same every day (alternatives were available at extra cost) but consisted of orange juice, the freshest bread roll I've ever tasted, ham, cheese, hard boiled egg, toast, butter, jam/honey, cake and unlimited tea or coffee. At this time of year I certainly would not recommend this hotel/resort to anyone looking for a lively holiday as some of the bars and restaurants didn't open until the second week. It suited us as we wanted somewhere where we could relax and not be kept awake all night by noisy bars and discos!
