We spent at least 20 years holidaying at the Roda Beach Hotel, now Roda Beach Village. Our children grew up in the safety of Corfu and acquired independence skills now seldom available in the UK. In 2001, we finally decided to buy a property as we had outgrown Roda Beach. Now we own a beautiful villa in Sfakera, just above Roda. Corfu is the most wonderful place on this earth; believe me, we have travelled extensively. As assistant head of a school for special needs children, I spend a lot of my time dreaming of being in Corfu; whether it is October, February or at Easter - I just can't wait to be there again.
I have just booked Roda Beach through onthebeach.com. I have booked flights and accommodation but you can book whatever you want. When I booked it doesnt include transfers so you will need to book these separetly if needed. Its also alot cheaper, has only cost me around £320 for a week all inclusive. The flights I have booked are thomson flights but like you I have been unable to book these or the hotel through thomson themselves.
hi, looking to book roda beach for 2009 but cant seem to get hold of it anywhere, its in thomas cook 2009 brochure but cant get prices. does anyone know if ican book direct? if so whats the web address? thanks
weve just been to roda beach village for our honeymoon 10-24sep 07 we enjoyed every second thanks to the thomas cook entertainment team, koo, hailey and frostey were such good fun and made our holiday one we will remember forever. The rooms were very clean with full bathroom and a tv in bedroom. The hotel looked lovely at night lit up in blue lights. A huge pool with bar a beach bar and main bar where they much prefer germans and you could wait a while to get served the food was nice but was much the same lunch and tea for 2 weeks ok if you like spag bog! There is 3 restaurants greek, chinese and italian which you can book there food there much better than main restaurant the fryed ice cream is to die for! I would return again but this time take our children as theyd love it and plenty to do for them there. missing the sun already!!!

we were on an all inclusive familey holiday we were picked up by coach from the airport and transferrd to our hotel, Roda beach village not a very long journey, lovely things to see on the way when we arrived at hotel we went to reception to get the keys to the room where we were welcomed by the receptionist who spoke english very well we were then taken to the room, very clean and spacious we had a tv and lovely bathroom. we read the information pack for times for meals and other useful information. we headed off to look around the ground the pools very large and clean one made of salt water a shallow pool for the children made with clean chlorine water and same the medium size one. the walk down to the beach very nice stoned path the beach is very clean shallow water and soft sand absolutely fabulous. you do have to be fast to get sunbeds by the pool in the mornin they soon fill up by the beach there is a small fee but you are garenteed a bed. the nightlife in the hotel is good the beach taverna is for the english where you will find entertainment for children and adults the reps and entertainers are very easy to get on with and down to earth.
i would recomend this resort to anyone its quiet, hidden away and very nice this is the best holiday i have ever had and am sure to return sometime in the future.
enjoy it if you do go which i am sure you will.
We were transfered from the air port by taxi and found the journey very interesting on arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the greek receptionist who spoke very good english as this hotel tends to cater for German holidaymakers. All the hotel staff seemed to speak German as well as English. The rooms were cleaned every day and cleaned very well there was air conditioning and a televisionin the room though there was not enough selection for english speaking visitors on the TV as you go on holiday to get away from the news but the only channel's that were in english were the news channels. The beach was very clean and sandy and the water very welcoming on the hot afternoon's we did not use the 3 pool's as the Germans got there before us (ha, ha, ha,). The town was v-close and v-small but welcoming. We hired a car from the hotel lobby and toured the island so were only there in the afternoon's. On the whole my wife and I enjoyed our stay there and would do it again at the next opportunity.

My daughter and I had our first holiday together, Katie is 18.
After a horrible journey form Corfu airport we were really looking forward to getting off the coach and getting on to the beach.
After we saw the other people's appartments and hotels I was not expecting much. You could see the look of some of the peoples face's when we pulled up outside there hotels,.
This is Nino's on the Beach, the tour guide said. The beach was horrible and smelly,no way was I going to sit on that sand or the BIG pebbles. So i was rather pleased with the pool and settings at Nino's.
The family were very friendly and the food was good. The only complaints I have is the two days we had by the pool was ruined by the LOUD music in Greek and English, I went to read and have a peaceful time. When a few other guest and myself asked that the music was turned down or off so we could have some quite time,we were told to "go to the Beach" So we did, by the Village. The stench was horrible and the beach was filthy.
The rooms were very nice, only cleaned out the once we were there. Missed a nice soft chair to sit on in the room ( like my home comforts to much) Oh and When we had a 3 days of rain and storms how I missed TV. Films were played downstairs which was a good thing as there is nothing else to do in RODA.
Will I be going back NO we won't.

I would recommend the Roda Beach to anyone and everyone because it has everything. If you want it quiet it can be and if you want action, sport, entertainment etc it's go it.
The complex is very big with three great pools (the only downside formy family and me was that the pools were salt water)and is directly on it's own beach.
Very rarely were we down earlier enough to successfully get a bed by the pool but we never failed at the beach, if you have young children as we do (3yrs & 10yrs) the beach is ideal - sandy and the sea is very shallow.
The whole area is very picturesque with the sea which was like a sheet of glass to the surrounding mountains in the distance......... absolutely stunning.
Daily there are daytime activities such as water polo, beach volley ball, tennis, water aerobics etc and in the night the beach resturant turns into a nightclub which is very very family orientated with dances and music for the children as well as the adults.
Be aware that the bar prices within the hotel are very expensive compared to the town, which incidently could be reached by taxi at E5 or by walking along the beach for about 15mins - one thing to note is that it is pitch black on the return journey at night so I would recommend the taxi or walk along the road which is well lit.
All in all a very clean and friendly complex with something for everyone - we will go back at some point and we would have no reservations in staying at the Roda Beach Village again.
One slight downside was that it caters very much for it's German customers before it's british......my opinion only!!
