My wife and I have just returned from our first stay at Christofis studios which I would recommend to anyone, the owners George and Pauline gave us the warmest of welcomes and could not do enough for us during our entire stay with them, even meeting us at the airport on our arrival and taking us back on our departure it was a pleasure in its self staying with them.
Having just returned a week ago from our first stay at the Christofis studio`s I can not recommend them enough. The owners George & Pauline were the perfect host`s and could not do enough for us they even met us at the airport on arrival and took us back on our departure day.
We have been visiting Roda for more than twenty years and have stayed in most studio`s and a few hotels, but Christofis is one of the best offering one of the warmest of welcomes to all.
The location of the studio`s right on the main road is perfect for all that Roda has to offer, so yes it can be a bit noisy as you would expect, but we knew this and it did not bother us.
We enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked our return visit in September and look forward to many more return visits in the years to come.
A very big thank you to George and Pauline
just like to say i stayed at the christofis studio apartments in august 2009 and plan to return this summer there. we had the most amazing time there the atmosphere and hospitality of george & pauline was excellent they made our holiday complete. i would not look to stay any where else but there and will recommend these apartments to anyone else wanting a lovely welcoming holiday. my children loved it so much that they beg us not to go any where else but there. every thing is in close proximity its perfect the pool opposite is perfect and really friendly which we used daily and the beach bars restaurants are a stones throw away with two small children and a pregnant wife this was perfect and no need for car hire. would like to say a very big thank you to george and pauline for everything and cant wait to see you this summer. x
i never read the comments that emma wrote, but when i stayed at the christofis studios there was a dirty mattress left outside the door form the day we arrived untill the day we left (14 nights)even though i had asked for it to be removed. one night when we came in a rat was hidden behind it. when we complained the owner told us that it had came from the vines.
We stayed here september 2002 and found pauline and george very helpful and friendly, The apartments are in a good location if you like being near all the bars etc but it is not that noisey as others on this site have stated.
Roda is for me the best place on Corfu, people like pauline and george make it even better, try it you never know you may well like it!!!!!
Re: Emma Marston's comments on Christofis appartments
We have used these appartments many times and have always found the owners extremely helpful. A look at the 'visitors book' more than justifies our comments. It seems to us that you have only told part of a very biased side to the story. After 34 visits to Roda we can honestly say that all well behaved guests are very welcome......
Cyril & Anne Blunt
We have visited these apartments on 2 occassions now and we cannot wait to visit again. The welcome by the the lovely couple who own and look after the apartments (Pauline & George) is very welcomed after a normally late flight, arriving early hours of the morning. Nothing is too much trouble for them, on our first time their, they put themselves out for a family in the next room, who needed to get to a Dentist George was there for them and took the lady to the Surgery for the treatment requied, and revisited with them on another occassion, (not many owners would put themselves out) especially for holiday makers.
The cleanliness was far better than was expected with a lady coming in everyday to clean the rooms.
The kitchen equipment ie: Toaster, Electric Kettle ect is a lot better than some apartments, where sausepans for boiling water, and nothing to make toast. We spoke to a number of people who were very surprised that we had these items.
I have recommended 2 couples and a single Mum with 3 boys to the apartments as we were they were very satisfied and will in the future visit Pauline & Geore.
If anybody could paint the picture brighter, it would be us. I would give 100%+
I now hope by you reading this you would use these apartments and come home with the views we have. Two very memorable holiday and cannot wait to continue with another one in the near future, one planned for May 2004, only cant find a company using apartments in Roda.
Having read the comment by Emma Marston I would like to state our side. The lady stayed with her friend in a studio for 2 people and became friendly with a couple in another studio.
Firstly, the main in the other studio was so drunk one night he pissed the bed resulting in us having to replace the mattress.
A friend of the above named person also did the same but we were told she had a problem, this was a day or so before they were due to vacate the apartment. To say 'the man put her on edge' the whole week she was here is utter nonsense - we only really spoke to them when we had a problem with the mattress. The day 'she was reduced to tears' arose because the girls asked to keep their room on until 6pm or to stay in another room so they could shower etc. There were told there would be a charge to cover the cost of hot water, electric and cleaning of the room once they had left. However, on their day of departure they decided to go to the other room (the couple they had met here) and were told they could shower there. This room (as was theirs) is only for two people. They were asked to pay and said that because they had to pay for the cost of a new mattress they had no money so they decided to leave. An hour or so later they were seen going across the road to other apartments because they had befriended a couple staying there and were told by those friends they could shower in their room. FREE OF CHARGE? 'The man' shouted to the girls to leave as they had no business going into another apartment. At the time the owner was away and my husband was keeping an eye on the place.
Would, I ask, these girls or anyone walk into a hotel or whatever in England and expect to have a room, shower etc at no cost to themselves? Why do some people come to Corfu and abuse us? Time and time again we see people come away on holiday having little or no respect for other peoples property. Granted this is only a small minority but it is this minority that makes me ashamed to admit that I am British.
We spend much time, money and effort in maintaining the rooms and have many people wanting to come back again year after year.
The fact they they could not sit on their balcony because the garden was full of mosquitos is beyond our control unfortunately. I am sorry, but wherever you stay the mosis are likely to get you!
With regard to the noisy bar one side we do not dispute this but the Golden Sun brochure states the apartments are on a main road and subject to some noise. I cannot see that the derelict building on the other side affected their holiday because the studio they occupied was at the back and did not look out to the building.
Therefore, I find her comments very unfair indeed.
this apartment was the only reason i have come away from Corfu never wanting to go back.
The apartments themselves are opposite a lovely pool and near the beach. they are clean and practical. However open up the balcony doors and you are hit by a garden full of mostquitos, meaning we could never sit outside without going elsewhere. the apartments themselves are also run by a couple. The lady is very nice but the husband is the rudest man i've ever met and reduced me to tears on the last day. and constantly put me on edge throughout the holiday. Our friends moved due to his rudeness as they had another week. i think if you want an enjoyable stress free holiday Roda is a beautiful friendly place but stay at anywhere but this place.
Aswell as this it is situated next door to a loud bar, so this place is not suitable for families and on the other side there is a derelict building.
my wife and i are spending 2 weeks at the christofis. has anybody got any comments about the apts. where is neerest GOOD pool. best bars, average bars and not so good bars. you get my drift. anybody else from leeds/bradford areas visiting in early september? please give us a shout if anything to report. cheers (yamas)
