Hi All

Haven't been for a couple of years, but have very fond memories!!! Has the Elizabeth gone independent this year i can't find it on the first choice website??? Would like to book for July next year.

well what can i say even British Airways tried to play a part in not getting us to the wedding (strike no strike),Now switched to easy jet to athens and then a 4 1/2 hour journey by mini bus,have woke up this morning with a sore throat, headache,aches pains, cough,sweating,shivering,in fact the same way i feel every morning when in corfu only this time i think its the flu,still not going to stop me though i will be there with a tear in my eye (ive known this boy since he was 13 and went around roda with a bmx and a water pistol).

Hi all, just came back from Roda,(23.12-06),very quiet,Costa and Helga had us painting the new buildings, it was part of the package,but it filled in the days.The nights were a first for us though:-in bed by ten, won the karaoke and lost the QUIZ!!! A big plus going this time of year is the cockeral is very quiet.

here is my mate terry who comes every year with his family(a nice bunch they are)i only have one thing to say about terrry and i quote "woooooo man i shoulda put the water in the bucket first" top fisherman. 

what a fortnight that was,once again brilliant,all the usal suspects plus more.there were some classy people out there (bev you know how classy you were).a few new attractions including trans gender face painting by the pool (see photo)and blind pool walking at 5-30am featuring cockerel doherty and his partner steve wiessmuller peacock.thank you all once again ,helen dimitri costa olga and my mummy elizebeth.

yet again another great holiday so sad had to leave   but only 51 weeks till we are back again xxx

hi everyone at the elizabeth apartments. the holiday was fantastic this year it get more and more amazing and each year it get harder to say goodbye to you all realy miss ya alll cant wait to see ya all this year.

Costa and Helen, We have booked to stay at the Elizabeth Apartments from Mon 14th August. However, one of our party, Sarah needs to keep HER pARTICULAR room on through the day on Mon 28th Aug as she is disabled. Would this be possible?

It is a shame that we won't be joining our friends at the Elizabeth this year, although there are some rough old sorts coming out on Friday so it might not be a bad thing I guess. Do not let Susana Curtis drink white wine under any circumstances and beware, holidaymakers, if Paul Curtis starts singing 'Two little boys'. Sofia's alright though and generally takes care of her wayward parents.

just got back from our second visit to the elizabeth and already looking for prices for next year!!!!!!!!! dan had a "smashing" time too!!!!!!!! the whole family make everyone feel really welcome. the food at the bar is brilliant, the sunday lunch is better than some we have had at home!!!!!! hope to try and stay in the new apartments next year. can't wait already.

we have stayed a few times and hope to do so in again in 2007 each time has been fantastic.

as promised costa, excellent, excellent, excellent, 5 star and i mean it.  we have had a fantastic two weeks with you celebrating olivia and james's honeymoon and mothers 60th birthday.  what a place to have spent it!!! this is how we are all feeling now  . hopefully we will see you in september, trying to arrange things but there will only be 3-4 of us this time round.  it was lovely to see you all again and to meet niko, who we had heard so much about from mum and dad, and of course olga, my mate, can't wait to see you and to see how the plans for the wedding are going.  it was a shame not to see helen, you were missed, hope pops is progressing. thomas sends big hugs to you all and what a place to have started to swim than in the pool at the elizabeth. see you all soon and take care.

Have just returned from another fabulous 2 weeks at the Elizabeth. Nikos is still there in the evenings and Costas has recruited another member of staff in his lovely fiance Olga.

you get a small 2 ring hob to cook on, tea and coffee making facilities,there are plate,bowls and cups etc in your apartment,But Helen and team are excellent and I'm sure you will spend more time at the bar/restaurant than in your apartment

No don't worry about the noise.  All of the apartments are on the other side of the pool from the bar so there is no noise at all.  Plus its not really a noisy place as such.  By that i mean the guests don't stay up dancing and raving through the night.  Myself and my wife are going to the Elizabeth on 5th June to celebrate out 1st wedding anniversary.  We went there last year for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time.

my wife and i visited the elizebeth apartments early season on a last minute break and enjoyed every minute of our stay,the family were extremley freindly (weather you were spending money or not)ok the apartments were not exatly the ritz ,but neither was the price.and we are hoping to return early next year.any one thinking of going don't be put off by negative comments you be shown a warm welcome,and have a good time.

Hello to everyone at the Elizabeth/Kookaburra and happy Birthday to Costa.

Have been home a week now and really miss you all.  Hope the weather is still really nice there, it has done nothing but rain since we have been back, really wish we were back in Greece!  We had a fantastic time and am glad we came back again.  Have managed to persuade my Mum and Dad to come with us next year and they are really looking forward to it.   

We are going back next year for the third year in a row and I cannot wait!! 

Hello Athina and Costa, It's Tommo, Really lookin' foward to the holiday, I've seen the comments made by some bloke on the comment page and I saw that he thinks the Blue lagoon is better than the Elizabeth aprts. The blue lagoon cannot be compared to the standards of the elizabeth aprts. Obviously his likes the the sort of places that make you sick from the food etc. I read the comments for the blue lagoon, and the things are in another league. When ever i have been to the Elizabeth aprts. the hygeine has been excellent. Looking foward to see you all, only few days now.

I feel sorry for him. Still I'll try and put him right this week.

Mr Bomb, sorry Truth, sorry Clarke. Strange how you seem to defend a number of other places in Roda so fiercely and yet have such a downer on this one. Anyhow, thank you very much for bringing these serious matters to my attention. I intend to speak sternly to Costa and Athina about these issues as soon as possible. In fact I am so cross I am going to take my enture family to the Elizabeth again next week for the umpteenth time to find out personally just what is going on. I will conduct a full investigation, paying particular attention to the bar, pool and sunlounge areas, and report back afterwards. It is clear from the other messages on this site that many many people are being ripped off every year without even realising it, so if I see anybody pretending to enjoy themselves I will put a stop to it immediately.

MESSAGE TO COSTA BOMB  THE RATINGS FOR THE ELIZABETH ARE FROM FIRST CHOICE  AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT RATINGS THE DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM GO THROUGH HERE ETC ETC WHY HAVE YOU TRIED TO REMOVE INFORMATION FROM HERE BECAUSE I CAN'T , SO YOU COMPARE THE BLUE LAGOON WITH THE ELIZABETH SO WE KNOW WHAT RATING YOU ARE AT THE MOMENT BLUE LAGOON IS CLOSED AND THE ELIZABETH IS OPEN ARE RUNNING SMOOTHLY THANKYOU  NEXT TIME DON'T PUT COSTA'S NAME IN YOUR MOUTH  RICHARD THRUTH??????

hello to all at the elizabeth 9-16 may 2005. hi to lauren, mad sarah from bristol, and sian from manchester, (hope you swatted enough to pass your exams girl!). firstly, if you are regulars and havent been yet this year -they've painted the apartments yellow!, see picture. secondly, the showers have new curtains! once again huge thanks to helen, dimitri,costa and nikos for another brilliant holiday, we SO didnt want to go home to wet northampton, hopefully we'll be back again sept/oct for another dose of corfu and another free breakfast when we win quiz night again!!

i am sorry to read that some people do not like the elizabeth, i hope it does not put people of  going to a place that makes you feel like you dont want to go again , but go 3 times a year.or even live there.Helen costa dimitri and of course mr smooth talker himself nikos,maxine and christina say hi to you all .the whole family make you feel so welcome and make it even harder to come home . we have been 3 times and loved every second, we shall be back 24 june the food is wonderful the rooms ARE clean , pool great one word of warning dont ask costa to make your drinks stronger because he does,and you dont remember aking him to do it or even the next day.we have met some lovely people while we have stayed, and seen most again when we have gone back.my daughter,son in law and grandchildren,came with us the second time and thought the same as us and alot of other unsatisfied customers who keep punishing ourselfs and having to go back to the travel agents to see if there are any rooms left praying they say yes and booking again the day after you have just come back.well if this puts people of good because at least there will be room for us that love it.and the hundreds that go back year after year.one last thing dimitri or helen 4 salads 4 beers ready 1-30 dinner time 24 june see you then

Have visited Elizabeth Apaprtments on 6 occasions now & on each time have had a superb holiday, and made many new friends.  Looking forward to our return on May 20th for 2 weeks & can only hope the food, hospitality & weather are as excellent as usual.  Just wondering if any faces from last year would again be visiting at this time  ie Paul & Tracey from Newport (if you have any money left over from the wedding!!) and Colin & Julie.  Looking forward to seeing Costas, Helen , Dimitri & Family again.   Dave, Kerry, Harry & Molly  xxx

BE THERE TWO TIMES NOW, AND BOTH TIMES HAD A VERY GOOD TIME. PEOPLE THERE WERE GREAT AS ALWAYS. AND GOING BACK AGAIN.

Having stayed at the Elizabeth for many years we felt so at home in Roda we moved here. The family are always very helpful and made us feel so at home (just like real family) we now look forward to seeing more of them in the Summer months and when they visit our home again.

Everyone is entitled to express their opinion on this website and not have it torn to pieces. People have different expectations of their holidays and no one has the right to have a go at anyone for expressing their opinion, whether they disagree with it or not.

I visited the Elizabeth apartments with my husband in the summer of 2004 and found the grounds and the pool to be one of the best we saw in Roda. However, our apartment was a different matter. We had been warned to expect basic and basic was exactly what we got. What we did not expect was a completely filthy toilet bowl – totally black, with what I hope was lime scale and not anything else – that had not seen a good clean for many a year. And before the Elizabeth fans leap in with their defence, no, this is not typical of Greek toilets, as none of the other toilets we used on Corfu were dirty. They were all clean and free from lime scale, as one would expect of “basic” cleanliness.

Another problem was the hot water system. While I applaud the use of such eco-friendly systems as solar power, there was clearly nowhere near enough hot water to service the amount of people staying at the Elizabeth when we were there. And basically we begrudged having to plan our days around getting back to the apartment before 5pm, (sometimes 4pm) to have a decent shower. Any time after that and you were lucky to get a cold dribble from our shower. Hot water is surely a “basic” facility?

We were unlucky enough to experience some heavy rain during our stay and found our room to have the unique feature of a leaky roof. To be kept dry in your holiday room is surely a “basic” facility?

With regard to the staff, yes they were great and friendly as long as we were spending our money at the bar. The fans who are part of the Elizabeth “family” are very lucky, because if you are a couple who do not spend every waking, money-spending moment at the Elizabeth, it is very difficult to penetrate the family “clique”.

I admire all of your loyalties to the Elizabeth and it’s staff and may you enjoy many more “family” holidays there. OUR opinion of the Elizabeth is that parts of it could do with some attention, i.e. ceiling repairs, water system, toilet cleaning etc and an attitude adjustment towards those holidaymakers who want to go out and see some of Corfu while they are there and not spend all of their time (or money) at the complex.

No one likes criticism, but without it improvements cannot be made. So next time you feel offended by someone’s opinion of the Elizabeth apartments, just remember that any negative comments made on this website could result in improvements, which will only add to the enjoyment of your future holidays.

Hi,myself and my husband Mick have been going to the Elizabeth since 1996.
WE LOVE IT! They definitely make you feel like part of the family. Can't believe some of the adverse comments, you obviously weren't on the same planet!!!
The brochure clearly states how often the bedding is changed!If that's not up to your standards then don't go there.
Have always had to buy toilet rolls whether staying in Spain, Portugal etc.
Greek accomadation is always basic but clean, have stayed on all the Greek Islands and the standard is the same everywhere.
What Greece is about is the people. You won't find a nicer family than those at Elizabeth.
They have played a HUGE part in our decision to buy a place there.

ELIZABETH APARTMENTS,DON'T BOTHER,We have been twice and it is not getting better.I agree with others that adverse reports are being removed from this site,that must tell you something,and as for a comment about "wanting 12 star service but not wanting to pay for it",the person who made that comment wants to get a life. We and many more pay good money for our holidays and having a high standard of personnel hygiene and expect far better conditions than the Elizabeth can offer, even in Greece. Unfortunately many people do not read the Holiday reports before booking. We spend at least 4 weeks a year in Corfu,2 of those in Roda,and have done so for many years,it is a great but quite area compared with other places,and has good accomadation,its just a case of choosing the right one!!!!!!. First Choice should relist Elizabeth as 2 star its all its worth,and what ever you do,make certain that you pay for food and drinks as you have them!!!!,its cheaper to eat out anyway. At the end of the day it depends who you are and what standard of holiday you will accept,not forgetting that some locations will add their own fictitious reports on these sites. GOOD HOLIDAY.

please be aware that posts do get removed from here i have left numerous comments about the quality of this place which have suddenly dissapeared
i visted in may place was nice food ok costa wants ya cash helen is brill but a bit stroppy at times
some apartments are damp in the early part of the season so dont be afraid to ask for a different room
all in all though was nice place but you really need the weather to be on your side as well
avoide first weeks in may as you get no entertainment except football

Just been into the travel agents with my daughter and we have booked the Elizabeth for next year's holiday (can't wait). Hope Nikos, Costos and Dimitri can cope with my little brood!! so the secret is out the family at elizebeth are members of some kind of mooney cult that brainwash its clients and force them to display good coments on this website.good work kayley bradshaw now that you pointed out the truth we might be able to get booked in next year because according to unijet its fully booked,also congrats on being able to type in the style of a greek trying to type english its authentic.i have been going to roda for 17 years and know nearly every apartment and owners there and you wont get better than the elizebeth.so KAYLEY lets us know when you,ll be there so i can book me spanish holiday.p.s.i like mick murphy feel like one of the family so i guess you missed the point!!

It was our first time at the Elizabeth Apartments and it certainly won't be the last!! We stayed last week in September and first week in October 04. First three days we had tropical storms which were amazing to watch but a bit worrying with torrential rain!! However we were not bored and found plenty to occupy us (dodging in and out of the rain). Nikos, Costas and Dimitri were very helpful and made us both feel very welcome! Helen was very nice and the accommodation was comfortable! We loved the pool (even though it was freezing when I first went in) and we found everyone very friendly! Quite a few of the people we spoke to had been before! One gentleman had been going for fifteen years and felt very much part of the family! Nikos works particularly hard but nothing was a problem for him (was stung by a wasp and he immediately gave me some cream to ease the pain). Costas was a terrible gossip (think he realised that I too liked to people watch). Particularly enjoyed the Greek night!! My husband has forgiven them for nearly setting fire to his feet tee, hee!! As it is very family orientated we would love to go back with our family who I know would enjoy the experience! By the way the capachino's are wonderful!! Well recommended!! Further more! Made lots of new friends - if you are reading this Tam and Steve or Betty and Gordon thanks for the company hope you had a safe journey home! Chris and Barry xx

You are right. The whole place is rubbish and the dozens and dozens of people who have entered comments on this site are all liars. We all go back year after year just to punish ourselves. I knew the truth would come out in the end. You'll probably assume that I am a member of the family who run the Elizabeth Apartments too, and actually that's how I feel. And that is the point. I and many others feel exactly like a member of the family, and that is why we really go back every year. That is also why Helen joins in the banter on this site too. I do agree with you though, that you should go somewhere else next time. I wonder who you really are?

last minute deal to corfu, great choice, great people, met some stars, bill and fran thanks for some great evenings out,to costa, dimitri, helen and nikos thanks for making us so welcome felt like we had known you ages, pool excellent, entertainment good fun, food and DRINK excellent especially the local brew, will be back next year with all the family so watch out roda!!

have just got back from elizabeth apartments on 11/10/04 and have already booked for next may!! its that nice there. our two yr old, katie, has a crush on Nickos! bar, pool, meals all very good as was the apartment, but the beds could do with softer mattresses and thicker pillows for us brits. please ignore the bad comments on this site, the place is great and they are a warm and friendly family. cant wait til may!

Got back on September 28th had a brilliant time, thanks to all the family and Nickos, Really friendly atmosphere (but they do tend to get you drunk a lot lol)
The pool and bar were great, excellent food and service, the room was ok but could have done with more hot water.
Looking forward to next year, so I can beat papa at pool, again, (5-4) ha ha ha.

ave it!the mother of this family saved my life while i was waiting to buy some fags and milk some 15 years ago i am eternally grateful(never got me fags or milk though).costa does his best to kill me with 8,oclock in the morning jaunts to sidari(39 mozzie bites)i now have an extended family including murphys,pycocks,dohertys strange the lot of them.gary next time get some proper straws my brother dave is still picking cotton wool from his teeth.to the greek waltons i love you all and i,ll see you in athens for new year.oh costa by the way i am not the nun i am the bus driver!

We didn't actually stay at the apartments but spent most of our time sunbathing and eating there. They are such friendly people and the service was brilliant. Best wishes to costa and family and a very big THANK YOU to Nikos (have it!!) for all his help and cheer with my Grandfather from sexy tatoo girl donna!!!!

I was at the Elizabeth at the same time as the Curtis family, and I had a high old time, except that some woman who always seemed to have a Smirnoff Ice in her hand kept dragging my present wife away to play pool. Why didn't she just accept that her brother in law Dave was the best at everything and give up? It is always a pleasure to go back to Roda and find that everything is still the same, and that the sea is the sea and always will be. This year was better than ever, and it was a real pleasure to meet Paul and Co. The kids (Sophia, little Tommy, Chelsea and George)are a great credit to them which is amazing really when you consider how the parents behave. I am glad the weather didn't let me down again. Thanks as always to Costa, Nikos, Helen and everyone for giving us all such a good time.

we have been visiting roda for many years. helen, dimitri, costa, niko and not forgetting the rest of the family make you feel so welcome and nothing is ever too much trouble. as a family we aim to return every year - its almost like a second home for us! we have just returned home from a two week stay but it never seems long enough. its all about the other people you meet on holiday. the cockerel that passes wind!!!!!!!!!! just like to say went in may/june 2004 to Elizabeth apartments with my family ...had a wonderful time, the owners/staff were superb ,had rotten weather 3 days rain but movies were played for the kids etc: actual apartments vere very clean pool excellent ,,really could not fault the place.rebooked for next year..
reading some peoples gripes, the most don't seem to concern Elizabeth apartments at all
1 gripe was beach not very good ??? well thats hardly the elizabeths fault? more the local council i guess ,.for a 15 min walk either way you will find quite decent beaches.
as for another gripe no water sports, well the same applies ie: not the apartments fault
i guess also if you book holdays during the football world cup all of europe will be showing this on tv,s /screens some people like to watch it after all if you want other entertainment while this is on look around the resort/area im sure there would be some places doing something else... as for the apartments being basic ...yes they are pretty basic ...but clean with all you would expect for corfu yes corfu as a whole should update the image of rooms just being basic as this image has stuck since 1970's but considering what you pay for your holiday to the holiday company does not all go to the accommodation (you would be suprised how little actually does go to them )the travel co takes most for flight/admin/profit really could not fault Elizabeth Apartments at all it was my first visit there but definelty not my last ....thumbs up for the elizabeth yea! MR QUINN, BUY A TENT AND SLEEP ON THE BEACH NEXT TO THE HARBOUR BAR

Having just returned from another 2 week holiday in Roda (unfortunately we were not staying at the Elizabeth this time) but spent all our time in the accommodation, I would just like to say that the hospitality received by all the family and Nicos made it yet another memorable holiday. We have already booked for next year, in the Elizabeth this time and will be bringing along some of our family.Thank you all again for a great holiday.

Another great fortnight, all the heroes were there. Well Done to all, even the Leeds Mafia seemed to make it more enjoyable and I never thought I would say that.

To all those who read this prior to departure, just relax the place is beautiful, friendly and actually quite eccentric with Nikos now learning dialects.

Safe for the Kids (who are actually treated very well by the staff) wonderfull for the adults.

The reason that there is a charge for things like kettles is that so many used to be nicked the family couldn't keep up. If you found them available elsewhere cheaper why didn't you buy one? Helen surely didn't make you hire one? In any event, I would have thought that if you really do travel to Roda every year, you would have bought your own travel kettle by now, as hardly any apartments there supply them any more, probably for the same reason that Helen doesn't. Otherwise use a saucepan, or perhaps use some of that hot air to just blow on a cup of cold water until it warms up.

we came home from Roda on 28th june 2004 we didint stay at the elizabeth but we wish that we had we spent almost everyday there around the pool. everyone was so friendly and nothing was too much bother!!!My 4 year old daughter Olivia took a real shine to Nikos (well what can i say she has impeciable taste!!!!!!!!!!) we are booking for next year after a fantastic two weeks this year!

we stayed at the leizabeth apts on 5th july 04 demitri was very nice as for helen she was very standoffious if you didnt spend money.
as for charging for a kettle at 10 eurs we could have bought one at 9 euros for to wks or life. hellen we wouldnt mind if u took a daposit for a kettle which we will get the 10 euros back. we r not tight with money but it is the princpel. as for costas hes a flyone watch him. as for nikkos his commets about g*y was very offensious.
remember karoke. we have been to roda for the past 11yrs and never expericed this before. we have stayed many apts in roda and never expericed this before. we will never be back at the elivabeth apts again.

Hello to everyone at the Elizabeth. Have been back nearly two weeks now and miss everyone loads, wish I could be back there now!! Hope everyone is well and Costa had a fab birthday. Had such a fantastic holiday, everyone was so friendly and helpful Zara and I felt like we were part of the family, which was good considering she left me on my own a lot.

Have booked to come back again next year but for two weeks this time, the year cannot not go fast enough, can't believe I am wishing my life away but it will be worth it to see everyone again!!

Nothing but good things to say about helen and her hubby they were great i guess me and costa just didnt get on as we had different ideas about what i had payed for and what i was getting.
The only thing that i didnt agree with is that there was no entertainment at all yet we were paying that same as the people who came the week after. Im sorry but if i wanted to sit and watch football id buy a season ticket to a football club but seeing as im not really into football i dont think so.
The thing that really narked me more than anything was besides the weather was that there was no watersports at all in roda unless i wanted to go on the pedlos if i wanted to go jet ski`ing i had to go to corfu or kavos.
As i said nothing really wrong with the appartments the pool was well looked after and the place was tidy
grandad and helen and hubby were top ppl jsut not the holiday for me ill think ill try somewere with a bit of life next time i like watersports alot and as there was none and no real beach to speak of i guess that was me done for straight away.
by the way Helen i have got a life and im very happy with it and my wife and children

We have going to the Elizabeth Apartments now for 10 years and we have just got back from our 13th visit. I agree with Helen - Ian Skeavington should go and get himself a life and take him and his miserable family to Blackpool every year. Doesn't he have an imagination that can think of something to do in the rain ? Doesn't his family have any legs that can do walking ? Anyway enough about him, his comments about the family especially Costa are pathetic and I don't blame them for not wanting people like him to go back. We love everything about the place and the family and wouldn't go anywhere else !!!
