We stayed at Spiros No 1 Roda for the first two weeks in June 2007. Its the second year running we have stayed at these apartments and as soon as we arrived back home we booked again for next year in June 2008. Its such a lovely family place and Spiros and his family are so welcoming and can't do enough for you to make your stay such a happy one. We had a brilliant holiday. Spiros's wife and sister do the cooking and food was fab absolutely fantastic cuisine. We would highly recommend the Greek Night its so much fun one not miss you will be up dancing its an abolutely briliant night. Phillip and Thomas (the Boys) are Spiros's Sons they look after the bar and are brilliant and do some george cocktails.
We have now stayed at Spiros No. 1 for the fourth year running. Although it is essentially a family place and we come as a couple we always thoroughly enjoy ourselves. All we need is clean sheets and a shower and so the accomodation is fine. The food is always excellent and the family are happy to make 'adjustments' to our food (we like a bit of ooomph!). The swimming pool is kept in an immaculate condition by Spiros and, although we are not people who need entertainment, the Greek nights are a lot of fun and we have not tired of them.
We have increased our holiday break from one week initially to two weeks and it is the most relaxing holiday we have had. The walk to and from Roda, espcially in the evenings, is wonderful. In the day time the views through the olive groves and across the sea to the mountains of Albania and Greece is spectacular and in the evenings there is the healthy smell from the horse riding school, fireflys, and the load squawking of the frogs in amongst the terrapins in the stream just before the village.
Having just returned, the flights and accommodation are already booked for next year.
we went on holiday here in 2006, for two weeks, Spiros is a friendly greek and is always laughing you can tell his distinctive laugh from a mile away, his family are very warm and welcoming. The apartments are basic but clean, the pool is cleaned every day, and he has greek nights great food, and greek dancing and smashing plates a party atmosphere.
and his bbq nights are great, the bar is open till late, and after 12 we would venture down to rhoda 10 minutes it is a lovely village which comes alive at night, there is a karaoke bar a trendy wine bar type place, which opens till 4 am in the morning, it has a large screen and 1000 s of songs to choose from, a few doors down a nightclub type place we are in our 40s it was more for younger 18 to 20 year olds dance ravey music,Hi my partner and myself have only just returned from corfu yesterday and we had a great two weeks. We stayed at spiros no1 in roda it was our first time there and we really enjoyed it there. Spiros and his family make you very welcome. He has a great sense of humour and had us laughing any time of the day. We would recommend spiros to anyone and we will go back again. It only takes about 5 to 10 mins walking into the town and the beach. He holds bbq nites and greek nites and the food is great. His wife does all the cooking and it is wonderful we enjoyed having our meals there.
A fantastic holiday, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We all loved Spiros and his whole family. Fantastic food. Great pool. Apartments basic but clean and comfortable. Easy walk from Roda and the beach, and at night we were surrounded by fire flies! The Greek night was wonderful and my daughter Rachel couldn't wait for her daily cuddles with Spiros.
I returned yesterday from the most enjoyable weeks holiday I've had in a longtime. I spent a week with my partner with Spiros and the mad greeks.
I stayed here with my sister three years ago. We both lived it. The pool area is lovely. The apartment was very basic but clean, Roda itself is beautiful, very relaxing. Especially eating at a beachside cafe of which there are several.

omg were do i start, spiros no1 is da best holiday we have been ever. we love you spiros and family. you made us feel so welcome, and you know we are you family now, ur english girls from manchester we enjoyed our holiday soooooooo much especially the greek nights they were mint. and we cant wait to come back in 29 days wooo with a bit more of the family haha, were well excited. phillip and thomas get the vodka and cokes ready for when we come back haha. were going back every year so get ready for us loved the greek nights especially when we got all our wine free haha. have so many good memories there spiros and we love you all sooo much. so excited about coming back now, not that long to go. 2 weeks of us girls again spiros "bloody english" haha, we love youuuu. can not wait to come back as i keep saying, the best holiday ive had ever. c you soon and say hi to phillip, thomas, vicky (my chicken haha) maria (my oink oink haha) eonna, matula, christina, haleener and the other cleaner. love you all, my family xxxx
I went to Spiros No 1 last year on three diffrent occasions, this year I stayed in Sidari and the centre of Roda (on my own), but on each occasion I made sure I visited the boys (Thomas and Philip) and Spiros for my pint of Mythos.
Just have to let you know that having stayed in many different Greek appartments this one is "simply the best" Spiros and his family are truly fantastic people they make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. Spiros has a few sayings that you will here many times during your stay "Bloody English, Bloody Greeks & Bloody Gorgeous as well as "its alright init" that along with his laugh he reminds us of Boyce from only fools and horses.Spiros wife does all the cooking and she is a "bloody good cook" and his two sons Phillip and Thomas run the bar from first thing in the morning till your ready to call it a night. The accomodation is great and the swimming pools are always really clean as we see Spiros cleaning them twice a day.Location is also very good as its only about 4 mins from the beach and village but far enough away that you dont get and disturbance. We have never been to the same place twice but will definatley be going to see Spiros and family again.
We loved Spiros No. 1 the first time, went again last year and can't wait to go again on Monday! Wish we could afford to buy the place! Bloody GREAT GREEKS! Bloody EXCELLENT FOOD beautifully clean pool, excellent accomodation.
Thank to all the spiros family for making our holiday the best. the bbq, greek night and roast dinner was excellent. the rooms are kept clean by the best cleaner i ever had. the pool is great but a little deep but it has a fenched off pool for the kids.the whole holiday is great value for money and would love to visit again. thats all right init!!!!!!
Spiros No1 is a fabulous place to spend your holiday in Roda Corfu we have been going for the last 4 years and look so forward to it each time .When we got married last year Philip even put Champagne anf flowers in our room on arrival touches like that are what the place is all about .Spiros ,Vicky Thomas and Philip all make it the best holiday ever and we love the place.18th of June 2007 we are back.
what can i say? it was the most fantastic holiday i've had ever, and il defo be goin bak, i jus came home on monday ther, and im ready to book up agen for next yr, it was "bloody brilliannt"
spiros and his family can't do enuf for u, and his sons are bloody gorgeous, ohh and dnt forget his wifes fantastic cooking. claire, who also works thr now is a brill barmaid, she was a well gid laff, and we had a good nite out, her new pup mollie is soo gorgeous. the apartments didnt appeal to me at first, bt inside, they r jus as clean as anywer else....very spacious aswell, and the pool is superb, spiros cleans it evry day, and he makes sure all his guests are well looked aftr...he even offered to help out my new irish friend kathleen wen her husband adrian was hospitalised. he coodnt gt more generous, and i jus wnt to say thnk you to him, becoz she reely needed sum1, and we had to c*m home. but anyway, if u r thinking bout going ther, it is well worth ur muny, u wont b disappointed! and like spiros says " it's alwite"Got back Wednesday morning from another fantastic holiday in corfu!
we have been there twice looking to go in the summer of 2007 the whole family is excellent nice pool good food make sure to go to the barbecue and the greek night is a must roda is a quiet area ideal for young families and the locals are so nice every one loves children
What can i say! Spiros No 1 is excellent for all ages groups! We returned way back in July and have been going for years but i had to write on the forum just to let you all know how great it is!
Just back from Roda stayed at the Spiro's no 1 apt they are bloody good apt very family atmosphere.the meals are out of this world.the apt are very spacious we stayed in a 2 bedroom which is 2 bedrooms with en suit in both of them which was great for the kids they had they own privacy and we had ours
Spiro's the owner was a right character he was always having fun with all ages his Greek night was very good the resort of Roda is very nice at night for meals or drinks plenty of taverns and restaurants to pick from during the day the beach is quite small but plenty of space for everyoneThis place is great - as u may have gathered from the post before mine. I must agree, thomas (the ninja) and phillip (and i suppose akis if i really have to admit it, but he'll be so pleased with himself that i finally did) are 3 of the hottest greeks. And Spiros has to be one of the funniest people i have met.
Oh My God!!! Just back last night from Spiros' and just had to write to say how wonderful it is there! I don't think that you can go to Spiros' and not have a fantastic time. I did not want to come home! Spiros is completely insane but would do absolutely anything for you, same with his two sons Thomas and Philip and nephew Akis (who by the way are probably the most gorgeous Greeks ever!!) Only a short walk to Roda where there are plenty of places to eat and go out (Drunken Sailor is the best!) Am already planning to go back to Spiros' next year to see everyone again cos it's bloody gorgeous!!
just back from spiros no1, 4 days ago. it was ok though it wasnt clean like every1 else has said, we stayed in room 1 and were disappointed with the accommodation. the room was only cleaned every other day and the linen change was only once a week and it was also in gr8 need of an upgrade everything was so old. spiros and family were really nice. the holiday was fine but i wouldnt go back.
We have just come back from Spiros no 1, Everyone was really freindly,
loved the family, it was the best food in Roda, We stayed in room 4,
saw some baby lizards on the steps they were really cute, Spiros is a
really funny and the maids kept our room really tidy (lucky as were a
bit messy) short walk from the shops and beach, some nice bars too, we
liked the pirates bar and the british bulldog as Linzi likes her soaps,
We are thinking of returning soon cause we are depressed that we are
back in England, Good for all ages!!!! BLOODY GOOD GREEKS
I am going to spiro 1 apartments in roda on the 5 sept can anyone tell me what these apartments are like I read on one web site on reviews that it wasn't nice but on this web site it is a different can anyone tell me what they are like as I am giong with my family of husband,2 kids, 13/15 thanks
Can anyone tell me how deep the pools are especially the kids pool as we are going there in the summer and have a 3 year old who can't swim?
We have just returned today from a fabulous holiday at Spiros Number 1. What can I say he is a class man and as he would say we had a "bloody gorgeous" holiday.
He makes you feel like one of the family and my children, Luke and Amy loved him.
Phillipe and Thomas were really helpful, Vicki is an excellent cook and Siobhan is a great girl and now a good friend of ours.
We will hopefully be at Spiros again next year.
Excellent
hi, ive been to roda 3 years in a row, its great for all ages. Stayed at the Spiros No1 3rd year only which was unfortunate cos its the best. All the family make you welcome. im still in touch with them actually. Phillippe's well fit but keep your eyes and paws off cos hes mine. will be returning in sept this year. cant wait.
p.s go to the drunken sailor near-by cos its class.
Hi, just thought i'd let you folks know about their website that i found at
http://www.spiros-no1.com/
It has booking forms, e mail forms and phone numbers so u can now contact Spiros direct.
By the way its a great place to be, just a few mins from the beach and shops & bars and plenty to do on the apartment complex, as others have said the food is great, the rooms are clean and the family are the friendliest around, a really great holiday venue, see u there in 2004
I have stayed at Spiros twice this year once in May and once in September. Once i went with a friend and once with my boyfriend and all of us loved it. The whole family are really lovely and friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you have a great holiday. It is just a 5 minute walk to the town but you are far enough away not to hear any noise it is totally secluded. The food was tasty and good prices - cheaper than town so i reccomend you eat there. Also Greek night and the BBQ are both excellent value for money. The apartments were spotless.
I will definatley go back again.
We too stayed in apartment 14 & had greek honeymooners at it till 6 in the morning, from next door, this is no fun when you have children with you!!
Beware of appartment No14 because the noise from the next door honeymooners!!!! can be extremely loud and at times may last up to 4 hours. There appears to be numerous brides visiting at various times of the day and night, one can only assume this is a Mormon marriage.
because someone was asking for spiro's web site and prices i would like to inform you that the web site is under costruction and the adress is:
www.spirosno1.com
e-mail: spirosno1@hotmail.com
tel: 26630 63429
Does anyone know how much Spiros charges for a weeks accomodation, he told us it would be cheaper to do this with him & then get flights but we never thought to ask him how much. Also how much is it for a taxi from the airport, we are thinking of booking again for Spiros1 but this time to cut out the tour operators
Just returned from Spiros1. We had the best holiday ever, I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. The only problem we encountered was that spiros the owner, decided to put a greek honeymoon couple next to our apartments!! it was not funny being woken up at 3 in the morning to grunts & groans (that lasted 2!! hours!!) when you have 2 children.
I have just returned from a weeks holiday there, it was fab. Only 1 club but plenty of bars. The beaches are nice especially paradise beach.
I really need to find out the web site for spiros no1 and would be very grateful if anybody knew what it was.
For all those of you asking for the telephone number of Spiros 1 here it is 0663 63429 fax 63429-94262
can anyone give me contact details for Spiros No 1 and Spiros No 2 Apartments. we have stayed at both in the past and are after emails addresses or telephone numbers for both. Anyone?
We are going on holiday in 3 weeks to the spiros1 We normally go to Lanzarote or crete so I would really appreciate some info on the resort & apts please. We like plenty of restaurants & bars but no clubs & yobs etc (we have 2 daughters age 12 & 8 you see!) also are the apartments clean & close to the beach & shops.
many thanks for any info at all.
Hiya I am after a contact number for the Spiros apartments in Roda, failing this a fax number or e-mail address would be luverly.
Thanks muchly
Hi,
My husband and I are going to Roda next week (23rd June) and would like the e-mail address or telephone number of Spiros Apartments to see if we could stay there.
Cheers for any info.
Brilliant place, good for teens and kids, suitable for older folks and adults.........its a place for everyone............Thomas and Nikos were FAB....esp. for the girls (*nudge* *nudge* *wink*) Spiros was a darling
I have just come back from a week's holiday in Roda, Corfu. We were switched to the Spiros Apts, due to problems with our original booking and we were extremely happy. The apartments are very clean and spacious, the facilities are excellent and most of all Spiros and his family are the friendliest people I've ever met.
It is an excellent place to stay, especially if you have children, or are a couple looking for a relaxing break. A word of warning though, don't miss Spiros' Greek Night as he gets a bit tetchy and the BBQ that he does Wed/Sat is well worth the money!!!
Im planing on booking a holiday for me and 3 other 18 yr old girls. I would just like to know if there is perhaps a town near by for us to spend the evenings in? and how close is the nearest beach? Any answer to my questions will be greatly appreciated! Cheers
I have been to Spiros apartments in june 2000 and had a really good time. can any one give me a telephone number or address so i can contact spiros himself
can you tell me what these apartments are like, and are they within easy reach of the resort. Also is it suitable for teenagers 2 fifteen and 2 seventeen year olds?
thank you
the reason its booked up is because Manos has had a fall out with the owners, next year - try Golden Sun brochure - the apartments should be in the brochure.
I have been to Spiros Appartment every year for the last 4 years and every year has been brilliant. If you dont get on with Spiros and his 2 son Phillip and Thomas then you would not get on with anybody. They are so helpful and friendly and bend over backwards to help you.Their resturant is good and their pool is lovely and you will see Spiros cleaning it every morning at the crack of dawn and in the evening. All the people in Roda are very friendly and i would strongly recommend these appartment to anybody. If any body visits say hello to them all for me. They know me as Sue.
