Boat trip and beach BBQ

BOAT TRIPS WITH CAPTAIN HOMER ARE THE BEST IN IPSOS.  THE EVENING TRIP TO CORFU TOWN IS A MUST AND ALL OF HIS OTHER TRIPS ARE NOT TO BE MISSED.  YOU CAN BOOK UP WITH SOFIA HIS WIFE AT  HER OFFICE ON THE FRONT OPPOSITE THE TEMPLE BAR.  WHAT A WONDERFUL TEAM.

Best day of our holiday! Sit at the front of the boat and dangle your legs in the surf! Beach was lovely, peeps were moaning they had to pay 3 Euros for sun beds, the BBQ was the most delicious thing I had ever tasted, mind you it was 2.00pm by the time we had eaten and I had no brekkie! Roast chicken, salad, tzaziki and bread and loads of cheap plonk!

This is a must trip, me and my mates went with the 18-30 reps and we had such a good time! We went on the trip the day before we went home and it was such a good day to end a brill holiday on. The reps made the trip though, they were such a good group. The BBQ on the beach is so nice, def have the chicken!!

it was so good. had the worse hang over of my life as soon as we got to the island jumped in the water and i was cured. the bbq omg i still talk about it now, i dunno if it was because it was the first thing that i had eaten that day but the chicken i had was soooooooooooooo lovely. cant wait to go again this year. i went on the banana boat that was cool a bit scared got kicked up the a**e as i flew off the banana boat quite funny . wen we went to that little laguna thing after the bbq and that and we got to jump off the boat that was cool. the belly flop comp owww. wkd. if u haven't been i def recommend that u go.   ps bring drinks or money for drinks thats one thing i didn't do.

I was in Ipsos in June and September last year and I agree, captain Homer is a star.We went on the trip to Kassiopi and had a great time,
B B Q was really good and the swim stops great.(I did dive in from the top of the boat).

Go on both the trips to the north and south if you can, food is lovely and the swimming stops are great, dive off the top of the boat if you dare!!!.

Theo is a star, as his son and brother Alex. I would defintiely go on this one, it's one of Thomson's excursions and again it shows the high standard that Thomson set. Every holiday I've been on is Thomson and I would never change it.

haha went to corfu in july 2004 and theos was the BEST part of our holiday, the BBQ was great, the entertainment was tops and the blue lagoon was the most beautiful place i've ever been to in my life. well worth every penny and the memories will stick with me forever. recommended to anyone. i'm definitely going to go back as soon as possible.

I worked as a childrens rep and guided theos boat trip every week i loved it as you are traveling over to the main land greece on the boat theres lots of fun to be had with music playing and lots of fun surprises from theo and his gang always be on the look out for dolphins as many of times they hear the music from the boat and come to swim around the boat. once on the beach you get chance to swim and sunbathe then thoe cooks up the best bbq you have ever eaten. the boat then sails to a beautiful blue lagoon where you can dive for champagne or just swim in the clear water take your snorkle kit. then its off to a cave theo backs his boat into the cave watch out for bats all in all a wonderful day out it will be a boat trip to remember. yasoo theo and alex i love your boat trip xxx ps dont be fooled girls every girl is there beautiful babies.

just come back from corfu 29/10/2004 the first trip we went on was theos he is soooo mad but so much fun .would tell everyone who goes to corfu to go on his boat trip the children enjoyed as well as adults

We did Theo's trip, he's absolutely MAD, we enjoyed it so much, everybody had a good laugh (and of course, a fair share of shaving foam and water!). Watch out for that sexy-mama (and the melons).

went on beach bbq arranged by value plus in sidari - coach trip to harbour in paleo and then boat to secluded beach - only accesible by baot! Fabulous trip and great food, good value for money, can recommend, very good value!!!

I came home from two weeks in Corfu and I have told everyone what a laugh I had on Theo's boat bbq I loved it Theo was an entertainer to all!The day was fun packed and the action didnt stop I cant say much for the food because I was to busy being paranoid about the wasps around me but my family say it was good!I'd go back again because I has such a good time. It was our last day on the island and when we played loud music and we were just leaning off the side of the boat singing it really wound the holiday down and I remember seeing the water go past sun shining!Highly recommended

well what can i say myself and 4 friends went on Theo's BBQ boat and we had an excellent day it was the best day of our holiday. to Theo and his brother Alex us 4 were called their beautiful babies. to start of the trip we got covered in shaving foam and lots of water. the food was excellent. we cant wait to go again. i cant say to much or it will not be fun when you go. go on have a go enjoy the day out.

well what can i say Theo's BBQ boat was excellent myself and 3 friends went on the trip and Theo and his brother Alex called use their beautiful babies we all had a great day from the moment we stepped on the boat. he started by covering all 4 of us in shaving foam needless to say we got our own back. we then had the BBQ and the food was wounderful, everyone enjoyed the next bit getting wet during the water fight with another boat. this day trip was the best day of our 2week holiday and we cant wait to go again. Theo is so entertaining and mad it is hard to beleive it. i shall say no more i will give it all away go and sample it for yourselves it is a great day out.

The boat Journey to the beach was enjoyable. Altough we had a great time at the beach its only downfall was that it was too stoney to have a leisurely walk along and to walk in the beautiful sea. The barbque was excellent and even catered for three non-fish-eating vegetarians. The water fight was a lot of fun. everyone has the option of whether they want to join in or not, a lot of people did. We enjoyed diving off the boat into the crystal clear refreshing sea, And eating ice-cream whilst soaking up the sun on the journey back to Corfu Town. Overall a great day, defiitely recommended.

barbeque ok, boat ride there was terrible, every single person on the boat was sick!!!!!!!!! and the coach journey from sidari to palicatistra diddn't help either, i'm sorry if other people enjoyed but i (and the rest of the boat) really didn't.

We have just come back from 2 weeks in Corfu, we had an excellent time but the best day we had was Theos BBQ Boat trip. At first i didn't want to go on the boat but i enjoyed it from beggining to end. Me and my mum were dissapointed that they had run out of doughnuts but it was made up for in the end. Theo and his crew made the day 10 times better as well.

We went on Captin Thoe's boat trip from St George South, we were pick up from our apt and driven to Kavos port. As soon as you step on the boat the fun and games started, and the beach BBQ excellent. The fun & games carried on until we docked. This is a family boat trip and graet fun for all ages.

Went through First Choice rep from Kavos. Trip out to the "beutiful" beach on the mainland was OK rest of boat sleeping last nights hangover off. When we landed at the beach very let down. Water was not clean, the kids dug up old chicken bones and plastic forks from the "sand" BBQ very much value chicken. Had to pay extra 3e for sun loungers. Trip back made up a bit with stop off at Blue Lagoon jump off boat etc. Not good value for money, better off hiring car and exploring for yourself, or doing the Blue Lagoon trip.

Benitises with it's lunch, swim stops and a visit to Vidos Island is Wonderful.

Kassiopi (a beautiful, must see place), with BBQ and various stops at gorgeous swimming locations, at one stop you can even swim in a cave! is a bargain at E20. (I went twice)

Night trip to corfu town is a must. It's the best way to see corfu town and shop, when it's not so hot. See the old Fort lit up at night and journey back to Ipsos looking at the stars and lights of Corfu listening to the beautiful Greek Music.

Had three trips with Captain Homer and Crew. Corfu Town trip at night is cooler and return in the darkness is magical.

Day trips with BBQ are really good value as still E20 and swimming stops are out of this world.

Captain Homer Olga and Nico could not be nicer or more helpful and have always gone out of there way to make everything perfect.

Book with Sophia Catains beautiful wife opposite the Temple Bar and if you need any help with any queries Sophia will have the answers for you, if not she knows who can help.

All in all a great time was had by all from truly lovely people.

the s**ts from essex thought that the boat trip was quite s**tty, however, our friend thought that it was great and the best day of her life! even though it rained all day and after tucking into and devouring her bbq feast which she thought was delicious, the best food she's ever had she climbed back onto the boat, snuggled up on the chair and drifted off to sleep for the rest of the trip. even though the trip was s**tty i liked the view of the sexy sexy barman from the jazz bar

Just come home after a second visit to Ipsos, would not hesitate to recommend a boat trip with Captain Homer to anyone.Great value for money, really nice boat fantastic food, and captain Homer and Olga are really nice. Great swim stops in beautiful waters. Don`t book with your rep. see Captain Homer at Pyrgi jetty. same high standards as on our last vist.

Just got back from a holiday in Kavos, and Theos Boat BBQ was definetely the highlight, it was brilliant!!
Theo is a bit of a comedian, he has a brilliant sense of humour and plays lots of practical jokes!! The 1st beach we stopped at was nice and sandy, with clear water and lots of water sports to take part in. We had the BBQ there, which was lovely, I recommend the pork chops. The wine you get with the BBQ is a bit nasty, but it gets you drunk quick.
After the BBQ, its off to the Blue Lagoon, where you can dive off the boat if your brave. I jumped off the top deck a few times, which was really fun, the water was a bit cold and salty (it is only May after all), but it was perfectly clear.
All in all, an excellent day all round and I would highly recommend it.
The trip is exclusive to Thomson though, and there are a few copies which aren't as good being advertised around Kavos.
So if you are with Thomson, definitely give it a go!!

if its the same boat trip us girlies went on then you will have a fab day!!!met loads of hotties and didnt get pushed into doing something we didnt want to.we booked our boat trip through mark??? i think we was walking down the beech it was only 25 euros and had a really good day! xxx

we went on tho's boat bbq and we booked it through the reps it was 72 or 72 euros for both of us and its worth every penny the guy is a total nutter the boat is good with a bar he takes you to a cove with a pebble beach where you can swim or jump of the boat the bbq was good my advice is go for a chop you wont get 1 the second time cuz every 1 wants 1 ill not tell you what goes on on the boat on the way back keepin it a surprise as it was only the second week in may there was only 60 of us on the boat but he says in high season he can use his 2 boats oh the wine you get is horrible but he does have red whte or just coke oh the sun beds a 3 euros each once you get there rember the suncream and camera he says hes got a website now if any1 knows this can they leave a message

Been reading the comments about Theos - and agree it's a fab day out. We did Theo's BBQ last summer - and when we were in Corfu three years ago (with Thomson) and will def do it again this year if we go back. Theo's mad, foods great and whole day was great fun. Not cheap but def worth the money.

We booked ours through Michalas travel in Paleokastritsa for 25 euros. We really enjoyed it, our first stop was Paradise Beach and we had a swim and a lie in the sun. After about an hour the boat came back and took us on a trip along the coast and then stopped by some caves where we jumped off the boat and were able to swim into the caves, the water was about 8 metres deep and very clear. My husband was in deep shock that I did this swim as I always chicken out and I am not very keen on swimming in the sea but what the hell it was great. After that we went back to the same beach and had the BBQ. The BBQ was chicken, bread, melon and some salad and the drink ran freely. Well worth it.

Top value for money. works out at just £20, and that includes the blue lagoon trip aswell. The beach was very nice. Was great for playing football and tug of war. A great laugh. Lovely weather helps, which he half got. Water was clean and warm. Great for a swim. BBQ was top notch!! Best barby i've ever had. The pork chops are perfectly juicy. Can't be beaten. A lovely day

This was the best money we spent!
If you are up for anything or just fancy a day out this is worth it!
The boat is lovely, the crew are fantastic and fun!
The beach you stop at is pebbley and be prepared to pay for the sun loungers and take plenty of sun protection but the BBQ is worth it (altough not for veggies!).
Then it is nack on the boat for a wet time (if you want it - if not stay at the back!) and then to a secluded cove for a dive off the boat in to crystal blue waters and back to Kassiopi which is beautiful.
If you do nothing else but this on your holiday it is worth it!

We went on the beach trip with Libra. Stephanos was the skipper. He told bad jokes and sang all the way. Beach was shingle. BBQ was excellent. Ice cream boat called in around 1 o'clock. A chill out day. Sun swimming and eating. wine water and orange juice provided.

We went on Theos Boat Trip on the third day of our holiday and it turned out to be the best day of the holiday. You are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive at the port. Theo takes time to point out landmarks to you making jokes as you go. He is really is great fun. Time for a swim in a lovely spot in the clear see and the deck hands take you through a little cave, then onto a small stoney beach that is so beautiful. The barbeque is delicious and the pork chops look as though they could have come from a dinosaur. Beer, wine and soft drinks for everyone. Great fun on the way back, but won't give too much away as the surprise of it all is half the fun. Theo has been doing this for 23 years and he has got it just right! You don't feel as though you are a tourist being ripped off but more like you are having a day on your friends boat with lots of other friends you've not met yet. Suits all ages and people, unless you have had a sense of humour bypass.
You've got to do this.

May I just say that there are many different Boat BBQs offered around the island and the comments here apply to many different ones so criticism may be infererred for the wrong one! May I also just say that more often than not disappointment is caused on trips sold by reps when either incorrect or insufficient info is given; so people go expecting one thing ( cos they werent told any different!) and get something else , which does not make the trip bad........ just not what you had expected.

Only 20 E for a fantastic Day.
Captain Homer and his staff Olga and Nico cannot do enough to make your trips enjoyable.
The Bar B Q is very good food and wine provided.The bays visited for swimmimg magical.
Booking is easy see Sophia (opposite the Temple Bar) Captain Homer's wife she cannot be more helpful any questions not only about the boat she will try to answer for you.

We went on Theos boat trip (through Thomsons), which although pricey was the best day of our holiday. The boat is superbly equipped and Theo is a nutter, if you enjoy a laugh and ar not easily offended you must go, it's great for all ages. The beach barbecue was excellent and you could go back for seconds, drink as much rough wine as you like and have a relaxing few hours on the beach, with beautifully clean water (not like Sidari beach!. Save some of your bread and you can feed the fish, they will come almost right to your hand.

Rachel, we went with Thomas Cook last year and booked the Boat Trip. It cost us either 30 or 35 euros. I would say whether it was good or bad but we got up late and missed the coach by about 15 minutes. It wasnt our fault - we had jetlag!!!

The trip started well but when we arrived at the boat it was swimming in God knows what, the toilets didn't work which when you have kids is a disaster. There was no beer on the boats for the grown ups except if you were staff or reps yet another disaster for the men. When we arrived at the taverna for the beach BBQ it wasn't exactly the cleanest location in the world and the food was just about edible if you like chicken as there was no other option. When we mentioned this to the reps they were not interested they already had our cash. The icing on the cake however was the 4 days spent in bed with food poisoning and the doctors bill at the end of it. DON'T DO IT.

how much would this set me back? and how long dose it last for? and one final question, what age groups were there? are there a lot of young people or is it more of a family thing?
