I feel like i've just finished a starring role in the second serious of prison break by staying at Dora! The rooms are reminiscent of the hole that marlon brando goes crazy in apocalypse. Its barely possible to fit into the bathroom for a shower and when you do it floods your mini apartment. The greeks love having a number 2 then putting the toilet paper (post wipe) into a bin. Fair enough thats their way, but when the bin provided by Dora is covered by some strange white residue - Its basically not nice!
kavos (also known as chavos) was very lively and not a bad place. your usual foreign
the dora studios is about a 15 minute walk from all the hustle and bustle of the centre. there are no pavements or streetlights on the journey back, and if you’re an all girl party be careful as you get hassled by weirdo’s in cars on the way home.
one night some drunken dude stumbled into the dora grounds by mistake and the owner beat the s**t out of him with a stick whilst his son kicked him on the ground. myself and another guest had to pull them off and restrain them!
the pool was nice, the hotel was quiet. the rooms were like mini prison cells, very hot, ful of bugs. the toilet had a diy light, which we were afraid to turn on for fear of electrocution and as always in
they try and rob you by mentioning tax all the time, its rollocks though.
not recommended, feel like a prisoner there.
Just got back from Corfu 1 week ago having had a great time. Both my girlfriend and I were made to feel really welcome, the BBQ the pool bar were all good. The pool was great, weather was great. Theo and his sister ran the place well and the dad was on hand to make sure the appartments stayed clean and safe for all. Great holiday.
Dora the explorer!!! Had a fab holiday here! the appartments are nothing fancy but have everything you need, the pool and food are excellent and babos and his crew are lovely. Although he does live in a wee caravan next to the appartments but didn't see no axe! Highly recommended especially for groups of young folk but prob not best for families as the beach aint great and kavos is just bars and clubs! A few tips tho! 1. beware of ditches can cause nasty leg breaks. 2. have ketchup and you will be attacked by wasos. 3. take a map with you to corfu town or at least remember where the bus tour dropped you off. 4. never drink with your right hand on a pub crawl 5. have a fish bowl. 6. go to rolling stone and 7. lookout for bod + one!
hi everyone, i really just wanted to let everyone know that was looking at dora appartments NOT to be put off by the couple of bad comments, me and 2 friends stayed this this summer in auguest, we thought it was great, we werent too close to the main kavos strip so we had peaceful nights(mornings really) the walk is a bit of a way 10 mins but you get used to it and its really not that big of a deal. babos and his family are great, the son who runsn the bar area speaks amazing english as does the rest of the family, its very quiet and peaceful throughout the day so if falling asleep on the sun beds is what you want, this is ideal!!
After reading comments about Dora apts, we felt we had to write about our holiday there. I was a bit wary about meeting Babos ( the owner) but when we did i felt relaxed and safe.Babos and his family cannot do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay there. Theo and Vasso (his children) speak very good english and enjoy sitting having a chat with their guests and Dora (his wife) is quiet and doesn't speak a lot of english but she tries and she is very nice.We stayed there for 2 weeks and spent most nights at the complex having balcony parties with all the other guests and Babos would sometimes join us for a beer and Theo would play our cds at bar,the atmosphere was great.Babos also cooks a great bbq, he took my husband to supermarket for food and he did all the cooking.Dora apts are ideal for couples who want a relaxing holiday.Babos and his family are decent hard working people who deserve to be recognised for their efforts to make sure you have a safe and happy holiday. We will definately have another holiday there
dora is f**king right good babos is so funny but he can get a bit ratty if your right noisey at night ive just got back the weather is right hot the town kavos is brilliant dora is about 10 mins away and its really quite in the day but its better because you can sleep without being disturbed if your hungover
the night life is brilliant and if your looking for a good place to drink then you have got to go to try rockys bar, road block, buzz and empire they are right good when thay are full.
HIYA AFTER READING THE COMMENTS ON THIS WEB PAGE I HAD TO WRITE IN. MY FRIEND AND I STAYED AT DORA APARTMENTS AND THOUGHT IT WAS A REALLY NICE PLACE. THE FOOD WAS NICE AND THE APARTMENT WAS CLEAN. IT IS QUITE BASIC ( JUST LIKE MOST OF GREECE) BUT WE MANAGED FINE IT WAS PEACEFUL IN THE DAY AND ONLY A 15 MINUTE WALK TO KAVOS AND 10 MINUTES EACH DIRECTION TO A LOCAL SHOP. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT YOU HAD TO PAY FOR YOUR SUNBEDS BUT THEY ONLY ASKED US ON THE LAST DAY AND WHEN I SAID NO DORA LET US OFF. ONE TIP WE PAYED £315 FOR ONE WEEK AND THE PEOPLE NEXT TO US PAID £220 FOR TWO WEEKS SO MAKE SURE YOU GET A GOOD DEAL!. I DONT THINK THIS IS THE PLACE FOR A BIG GROUP OF 18-30'S BUT FOR QUITE DAYS BY THE POOL AND COOL NIGHTS OUT IN KAVOS THIS SUITED US WELL. BABOS AND HIS FAMILY WERE RELLY NICE AND HIS CHILDREN WERE VERY POLITE AND SPOKE EXCELLENT ENGLISH. BABOS DOES STAY NEAR THE APARTMENTS IN A CARAVAN BUT FOR TWO GIRLS ON THERE OWN THIS MADE US FEEL SAFER. THE ROAD UP TO THE APARTMENT IS QUITE SPOOKY THOUGH SO MAKE SURE WHEN YOU GET A TAXI HOME THEY TAKE YOU TO THE TOP OF THE ROAD. THATS ALL FROM ME. WHEN ME AND MY FRIEND WERE GOING THE STAY HERE WE READ SOME OF THE COMMENTS AND IT PUT US OFF SO I HOPE MY ENTRY EVENS OUT THE BAD.
CLAIRE & GUMMA SEPTEMBER 2003
PS THERE IS LOADS OF WASPS ( NEARLY 10 AROUND YOU AT ONCE)
PPS THE BEST BAR IS ROCKYS BY FAR. (I LOVE NICKOS )
DO NOT GO TO DORA!! The apartments are very basic and do not have cooking utensils even though its meant to be self catering! The bathrooms are a joke with a shower that works when it wants to and a smell which lingers in the air. The main reason why you should not go to Dora is the Owner Babos and his son. They are the rudest people you could ever meet. When you first arrive at Dora they are as nice as pie but then for some reason they change and begin to pick on stupid things. Babos threatend us with our lives and even shown his shotgun to the people staying below us. He tried to charge us for sitting on the chairs in the bar area and was told the bar area is not part of the complex! We were also told to get to our rooms because he doesn't like us! Babos also sleeps where the pool table is so he can spy on everybody coming back from Kavos. If you try and have a conversation with Babos about these things he will get very agressive and start shouting, there is no reasoning with this thing! If you want the worst accommodation you can ever think of and like being spyed on and spoken to like something on the bottom of your shoe then Dora is for you. If not then DO NOT GO TO DORA!! Babos if you are reading this thanks for spoling mine and Katie's holiday, you are worse that the stuff which rolls aroung in your crap toilets.
Hello, my name is Jake and I look like Baron Greenback from DangerMouse. Ha ha ha. On a lighter note, I think Babos is a fat man with a fat son but at least he's better looking than me. Then again, EVERYBODY is. I'm bloody awful.
Good night.
babos the owner is a proper nob head and tried starting fights with everyone. two weeks of him threatning to throw us out was enough for me. what a c**k - dont bother going here cos it will ruin your holiday.
