The Sunrise Apartments is not for families. The apartments are situated in St. Peters, which after searching the net is not as suggested a quiet fishing village, we walked for miles and could not find a fishing boat in site only the port, which was not picturesque at all. There is no nice walks to go on, which as a family we like to explore the local countryside. The only thing to do in the day was the pool. The pool was lovely with a pool bar that sold snacks to a good standard and reasonably priced, the beach is grotty with lots of sea weed, the best place is in front of Cavo Bianco where you can hire pedalos and jet skis etc., A torch IS REQUIRED in the evening as the road to walk into St. Peters is awful, very very busy with cars and scooters (young lads hire the scooters and hurtle up and down all day, they can hire them without a driving licence just hand in their passports, we saw some with nasty injuries where they had come off the bikes, not recommended as the roads are bad, no helments etc.,) There are only a few restaurants, I wont say Tavernas as they are not. There are a few bars where they play films or tv programmes. A few have free pool, which is the only way to keep the kids occupied. The Socraties is worth a visit as they have a Greek night on Wednesday and Saturdays and is right next to the beach, the food is not up to much though. The best places to eat are the Chicken and Steak Restaurant or House of Eden both good value for money with nice staff.
The complex: It should stipulate in the brochure that it is a singles complex or families and couples only. The first week of our holiday we ruined by a group of 10 lads who became friends with 4 other lads who would all meet in block 7. They made noise from 3.30 through to 7 - 9 am, they set off fire extinguishes, shouted foul and abusive language from their balcony at any female that passed by and rode their scooters up and down the complex from 6 am in the morning drunk, it was a living hell. Even when they were threated with being kicked off the complex this didnt deter them it was not just our holiday that was ruined but other peolple inthe complex. We know people like to party but theres a time and place. The noise continued even after the rep (kate) was informed but we were moved a week later initially we were place in block (block 7 &8 are the party blocks so we found out later) we were unable to get off the complex to new accomodation unless we hired a jeep and found somewhere ourselves according to Des (stand in rep when kate was ill).
Cleanliness: this depended on which block you were situated in block 7 was dirty with an inch layer of dust under the bed with no brush or mop in the room to clean up yourself. Block 3 was far better. The cleaners do not come in everyday even just to empty the bins.
Kavos: it is a dirty, grotty place there were leaflets thrown on the floor that became part of the road, I have never been to such a dirty place, Blackpool is very clean compared to this place.
Excursions: The choice of excursions is limited for families to around 4, which was a beach bbq, (a good day out) Aqualand, which the kids really enjoyed, a trip to Albania (the idea didnt appeal to us) or a trip to Paxos and Antipaxos,(we believe was a good day out). The rest of the excursions were for adults only i.e. bar crawls, which had watered down shots and an evening with Eric, which the reps had changed to make it unsuitable for children etc.,
All in all a very memorable holiday unfortunlatey for the wrong reasons, if we were not placed in the party block it would have been more enjoyable but very limited on what you can do both in the day and night. That was according to other guests and people that stayed in the St. Peters and Kavos area not just me having a good old moan.
Went to Sunrise a few years back on a late deal in Oct for £139
Becuase of cheap price we really couldn't complain however rooms are 'basic' with very limited equipment so best to take some utensils and bottle opener if you want to do any cooking. Some blocks are better than others the one nearest the road was the newest (and bits of it didn't look finished when we were there!) Towels are small so take your own and sheets were damp but it had been rainy before we got there.
Location is out of town, about 1.5 miles but seemed a lot longer to walk as hot, dusty road with no pavement so take a torch if you want to walk back at night.
Supermarket about 5 mins down road towards town and restaurants of Agios Petros (St Peters) about 10 mins - very nice Pizza place.
Pool area nice and leads directly onto the beach which is not so nice - you can walk towards town along the beach but takes a lot longer. Pool bar OK prices for drinks but best to go to the supermarket and stock up fridge !

veiw sun rise apartments
sunrise is a nice and friendly resort....costus is a moody git and if he smiled his face would crack prob didnt help to much that i refused to pay for my sun lounger!! (paid for the bloody holiday) taxis cos about 6euros into kavos just be sure when you get into taxi you say "sunrise apts for 6 yeah??" all in all though sunrise is a nice place look out for dave and matt the jmc reps that are there!
I'm going to Kavos in July, Could someone give me an idea on prices of Taxi's from the town centre to the sunrise apartments as I've been warned that some taxi drivers try to rip you off?! And if possible nice places to eat out?
Although it was a 20/30 minute walk into Kavos we didnt mind this as being a family we prefered to stay slightly out of the main town.Appartment was basic but clean and pool was exellent.Although the food is of good quality at the surise bar,Kostus the owner of the bar will lead you to believe that eating there is better value for money than in town, dont believe this try the prices and value of money down town.
We expected it to be really awful but when we arrived we were nicely suprised. We had friends staying in other appartments and ours was the nicest. The appartment was very big and spacious and the pool was really nice. The appartment was quite clean but not imaculate! It is a five minute taxi journey from the centre which is a bit annoying because walking would be a lot easier but its a bit too far to walk (about 30-45mins).
