Is there anybody going to Acharavi in July 2015? My partner and I would love to meet up with some couples,  few drinks, chit chat etc. Feel free to get on touch.

Ross.

Hi

We have booked for a 2 week holiday to Acharavi end of June begining of July.  We have never been to Corfu before and I am looking for suggestions of places to visit, eat etc.  Also does anyone know of any nice bars with free internet access so we can skype home.  We are travelling with a 13 year old boy so any places to take him or to avoid would be great.
thanks for any advice or suggestions.

I've been at Acharavi for 2 years in a row now and going again on July 4th. I've lived in Lena Mare before, but since I've become such a good friends with the co-owner/bartender of Panda Bar, Kosta, I'm going to stay on his studio at the beach this year. Hardly can wait to be there again.

Acharavi ain't the neon light hell with the big bass boom (except 2009 there still was a nightclub called Versus), but I prefer more peaceful evenings anyway (mostly at Panda Bar of course). You can find Panda when you head to so called old town from the Pump, abt 100m and it's on left hand side, can't miss it. Very friendly staff, wide variety of drinks and a speciality, BIG beer (check out the pic).

There's plenty to see in the Corfu island, so I suggest you all to rent some kinda vehicle, car, scooter, buggy, anything to get around the island. Last summer I spent few days with the car and visited tons of beautiful places, it's worth every euro I tell you that for nothing!

My partner and myself have just returned home to wet, windy and very cold Manchester, after a week of utter bliss. we stayed at the Tassos Apartments and Jon and Romeo made us very welcome and helped us find a great motorbike hire place. we were both out on bikes and fun buggies and horse ridding so we didn't stay round the bar very offten but when we did it was a fun place. if your going you need to go and have a drink with Dave at the Vertigo bar, top man great atmosphere in the place. My partner and I have always said the the world is a massiv place and that we would not got to one place more that once that was until we went to Acharavi. top place had a ball we will be going back there.

Just returned from 2 weeks in August and will definitely be returning to Acharavi.

The best thing is the people - nowhere have we found the locals more friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Tassos, which was fantastic and ideally positioned for easy access to the beach and main road for shops & restaurants etc.  We never had a bad meal anywhere, but Faros on the beach was our favourite. Pumphouse also good.  The beach is pebbly, which did disappoint me, but once you get over the stones on the initial bit into the sea, it's soft sand and shallow, safe water. Kids loved jumping the waves!

We walked into Roda one day, which was nice, but we were glad we were staying in Acharavi!
Close enough to places like Kassiopi, and Sidari for days/ evenings out. (try Mythos Travel straight opposite you when you come to the main rd.)

We can't wait to come back!

Acharavi is a quiet resort with a variety of restaurants and tavernas not the place to go if you are looking for a wild time (did'nt stop some of us on Greek night though ) The resort is ideal for families as it is central if you want to access other areas such as Roda Sidari and Kassiopi. Waterparks are a short journey away, plenty of watersports and excursions available. Definately worth a visit.

I went to Acharavi 3 years ago, it was the best holiday I've ever had. I went with a group of well behaved 19/20 yr olds and we had a blast. Acharavi its self is the perfect base for a holiday, we went on loads of brilliant excursions (you have to go on a beach BBQ!) Aqualand is close by and great day out. Twenty minute walk along the beach into Rhoda (stopping at the occasional beach bar on the way) for a more lively night out, but returning to Acharavi were you can get a goodnights sleep. One of the best things about this place is the people they are so friendly, the food is brilliant and the servings are triple english size, I didn't finish a meal, not once. If you go you have to visit HARRYS BAR it is excellent and stays open as long as you want to drink, all the bars give you rounds of free drinks. Brilliant place can't say enough good things about it! I'm going again this June!!!! Can't wait!

We Have just arrived back in the UK after a wonderful week in Acharavi staying at the Chrisa Hotel. If anyone is thinking of going to Corfu out of season than we wholeheartedly recommend doing so. The Chrisa Hotel was warm and comfortable and we were ably looked after by the hosts Jim and Sue who went out of there way to ensure that we had an enjoyable time. It was nice to meet the Greek people out of season before the hustle and bustle of summer, every one was so helpful and generous with their time. The Flights from Manchester via Athens while awkward timewise posed no problems. Indeed travelling by scheduled flights is far more comfortable than the cattle truck experience of summer charter flights. Acharavi is fast becoming known as the capital of the North and many of the shops and quite a few tavernas remain open all year.A great big thankyou to everyone we met.
