i went with 8 other girls and stayed in mythos annexe for a week from 5th - 12th july 2004. the people that owned it were lovely. the apartment was basic and the balcony was good size. although there was a pack of ants that overtook our kitchen sink and all in one bedroom. we managed to get rid of the ones in teh sink with washing up liquid!
some of the bed sheets were a bit dirty, their was no washing up cloths, washing up liquid, few cooking pans that were filthy and we had to buy toilet roll ourselves. we were caught in the middle of a heatwave when we went and the max temp was 42 degrees C! VERY VERY hot! we had fans in our room for the first night and were told if we wanted fans for the whole holiday we'd have to pay 10 euros for each fan! the rooms were "cleaned" daily, but this consisted of emptying bins and washing the floor.
i probably wouldnt stay in this place again but i suppose it should he been expected for the number of stars it has. but apart from these, it was in a good location. 5mins from the beach, telephones just outside the apartment and a local shop short walk up the road. the main stretch was about 2mins walk. very quiet at night considering how close we were to it. everybody was really friendly and the pubs/bars/clubs were good...although beware as each place has at least 2 hot people outside that put their arm around you and try to get you into their bar and they offer you loads of deals! very competitive!
would recomment rolling stones...had many a night in there! and also opne with a buffalo that you can ride in another place! that was cool and the bloke who works there called glen was lovely to all me and my mates! also watch out for random people during the day who tend to try to sell watersports packages and stuff! be warned - the travel agencies offer these trips and tend to be VERY expensive! some of the random people deals are good! we got a day out on a boat trip where we had a 45minute boat trip to the greek mainland on a beautiful beach, followed by a crap bbq (bring own food and plenty of water to drink), then games, offered watersports (go on the banana boat ride - its excellent!), then we sailed to a part where water reallly clear and jump off boat to swim...and have champagne diving games! very good trip...only cost us about 20-25euros (travel agent cost between 30-40euros for same thing!)
anyway apart from poor accomodation, trip was brilliant but very very hot! overwhelming at times! next time will go out there earlier or later to avoid extreme heat! |
