Our rep informed us of the seaweed but May is seaweed season and there were mounds of it on the beach and floating on the sea! The hotels did come out and rake it up but it still wasnt very pleasant! If you need a beach though, go on the Blue Lagoon Boat Trip and do the champagne diving!
Great day out and the sea and beaches are gorgeous!
Not even worth a look, i'm afraid. Unfortunately, we had to trawl across it to get to the jetty to go to Greece. Nasty stuff. Covered in 'orrible seaweed all across the shore. BIG MOUNDS OF SEAWEED
Dirty and horrible
Not a nice beach. Didn't go swimming as was put off by the empty bottles and rubbish. If you have already booked your holiday then i would advise you do what we did and hire a car to see some of the other beaches in corfu. They are stunning particularly Pelekas.
I went wih my boyfriend and his friends last year....it was the worst holiday ever!!!! The compnay was great but the resort was crap.....I woudl not recommend it to anyone
the sand is dirty and is littered from debris from the night before, the water sports are good an there is decent totty, so overall not ot bad, just dirrrty
The beach was ok. There was a lot of seaweed around and a few glass bottles in the water so be careful. But because the water is clear then it is possible for u to avoid them. There are many activities to do on the beach such as paragliding and watersports. You pay 2 euros for a sun lounger and an additional 2 euros for a sun umbrella. Overall its a good beach but i have seen better.
Staying at Kavos Beach Club, anyone been there? been to Greece b4(Laganas,Zante twice) will b going on 22nd August '03....not too worried as long as there is a bed and it is clean to b honest(hoping 4 Greece i know!) If I had a good time as I did in Laganas, who cares! will b pissed as a fart anyway, with my m8 Jamie
we thought it was ok, the main thing was that there was loads of honeys to check out there. There was alot of seaweed but it was not the end of the world.
I WAS ON KAVOS BEACH JUST CHILLING NEAR HEAVEN ON THE SUNBEDS WHICH U HAVE 2 PAY 2 EURO'S FOR BUT ITS WORTH IT.ITS GOT RINGO'S IN THE WATER WHICH GET PULLED BY A BOAT,PEDLOWS AND LITTLE PLACE 2 PLAY FOOTBALL.PLUSS A BAR.I WAS ON THE BEACH EVERYDAY I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD CHILL OUT LISTENING 2 MUSIC,BUT SUM PEOPLE THINK ITS A DUMP.
the beach is ok-apart from the fact that I burnt my feet on the boilin hot sand-so stay in the shade!!the sea woz quite clean-but u have 2 walk in2 the sea for quite a while b4 the water becomes deep enough 2 swim in!I didnt find the donut fella 2 pesterin, infact he woz quite pleasant & made us laugh coz all he shouts is 'sexy donuts!'
I went to kavos last august and in all honesty the beach was not nice, there was a lot of seaweed and the sand wasn't very nice either. If you go on a peddalo the water is nice once you've got past all the seaweed and litter. we ended up walking about 30 mins towards st peters as the beach was a lot nicer than in kavos. peddalos can be quite expensive too.
It's an odd beach alright. We saw no litter or vomit the whole time we was there but it's more of a foreshore than a beach. Just don't expect too much. It's not half as bad as made out.
The beach was poor. You could not get to the water because there was a 3 foot pile of seaweed along the shoreline in places. But this did not stop beach BBQ revellers jumping off Kavos Pier, and they looked like they were having fun! Did manage to find a good launching spot for a pedaloe trip, which was one of the funniest experiences of my life!
i thought the beach was really nice and clean where i was staying, only problem i had with it was that the sand was 2 hot.its fine 4 kids if they want 2 make sandcastles and go swimming.i love kavos and wont say bad word against it.
Hi, I have booked up to go to Kavos (Sunrise 4 Apt.) in May with my partner and daughter. I have never been before and after reading the comments about the beach, I don't know what to expect.
Please supply any info on apartments, distance from beach and time from airport to destination.
Thanks and Best Regards, Donna
RIGHT LETS BE HONEST HERE GUYZ, KAVOS IS A GREAT PLACE WITH COOL BARS, RESTAURANTS, AND PEOPLE ETC, BUT PLEASE KAVOS BEACH?!
IT WAS SO SH*T, I'D RATHER SIT IN A PIT FULL OF FAG ASH!!
The sea was very calm but the beach was really quite discustin loads of washed up seaweed everywhere not too mention the litter full of PR s all day trying to get you to their bars restraunts and clubs also the most annoying do nut seller who would pester you if you said no!!
The beaches in Kavos were good but as you got up to St.Peters there was alot of dried sea weed spreaded in places.I would say it was quite safe for kids as there was no visible jelly fish, and there were some good activities like peddle boats with slides to go in to the sea. There were good activities for adults like jet skies and boats.
The beach had days when it had litter, not as bad as a syringe or nothing when I was there but it did have ice cream wrappers and crisp packets. KAvos beach is more 18-30 than 3-8.... alot of younger people there. If your lookin 4 some where like Aiya Napa but a little cheaper, then Corfu is the place!
im sorry but whoever wrote the report below must have been a another resort or using drugs heavily. the beach had litter on it, by this i mean empty bottles, ice cream wrappers, boxer shorts floating in the sea - the usual. talking to a lad there he said he'd been walking up the beach and nearly stepped on a syringe!!! - after this he had taken to wearing trainers for the rest of the holiday. they should change this resorts name to s**tholos.
The beach always looked very clean and was made up of sand, unlike a lot of the pebbled Corfu beaches. It's very cosy for your average 18-30 old but it might not be your scene if you're with family or looking for a peaceful beach.
