my wife and i stayed at panos appartments in may 2004 we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday sam and alison were very friendly and helpful the owner was not as personable but was ok in his own way there was talk of extending the appts and building a shop can anyone thats been there since 2004 tell me if that has happened
When we first arraived to the Tassos apartments we thought i dont really like this place it does not look very environmental! Then we found out that it was a wonderful place! its only because we never liked it in the first place is because we arrived there at night. It is a lovley place for families to go. We stayed in a apartment where as you go to your left and walk about 60meters you will find a lovley pool bar where they also serve food! and the pool bar staff are great! anything you want just ask them! and as we walk from our apartment about 100 meters there you will find a lovley sea with golden sand and along the beach is reteurants and bars!the sea is so blue you can see the bottemThere are also plenty of day trips you can go and take your children. Also last of all you are gaurenteen hot weather which is the most important thing!
Please take no notice of the thumbs up or down or location quietness or cleanliness on this or my previous note as we cannot comment for obvious reasons.I just felt that I should warn anyone who has done the same as us and booked and paid up early because you might not get to stay at Panos as well. Good luck any way.
Just to let everyone Know my family and myself booked to stay at Panos apartments back in August 2004 due to the good reviews that we had heard about to stay 01-08-2005/15-08-2005,and we paid the deposit. Today (seven Months on) 08-03-2005 we have received a letter from Libra saying that we can no longer stay at Panos because they have and I quote "That due to contractual difficulties our contract at the Panos Apartments has been cancelled therefore we are unable to provide you with your original accomodation" end quote.Libra are only giving us two options, one is to holiday elswhere on Corfu or refund monies paid As you can imagine we now are having the hardest time ever trying to get our holiday in Acharavi back on track "be warned" and oh yes THANKS LIBRA!! You have really made my families year
we have stayed at the panos twice but always visit every year to see sam and alison. you will probably know by now that libra no longer have the contract for the apartments but if you go to the website www.greece.com/hotels you will find the apartments advertised on there
We have stayed at Panos Apartments twice recently, we are hoping to book again for this year. We have just heard that Panos are no longer with Libra, does anyone know who they are with now.
20th Sept - 27th Sept 2004....This was our first trip to Panos and we loved it! We were droppped off in the middle of the night and not shown to our rooms, which was a bad start, but it just got better from there. If no one meets you, just try to find your room number, as our door just had the key left in the lock - NICE WELCOME! The useless LIBRA reps told us we would be met. The reps were TERRIBLE! The apartments are clean. The shower in our room (number18) did not work very well at all, but this was the only real problem with the room. Safety deposit boxes are available for rent, but we did not bother as the place seemed very "safe" excuse the pun. We read many glowing reviews of the pool bar, which we agree was very pleasant, but Sam and Alison just didn't give us the welcome we were expecting - maybe we were just unlucky, but we spent every meal after our first breakfast dining elsewhere. The pool is a good size and very, very clean but shelves away quite rapidly (be careful with kids!) and it is a sniff under ten feet at the deep end. The gardens are very well kept - VERY GREEN! Ten minutes steep downhill walk gets you into Acharavi centre. The walk back to panos is quite an effort, so if you have trouble walking, this may not be the place for you. It does get easier after four or five trips! Eating out is cheap and very, very good. We recommend Acharavi Park (superb), The Lemon Garden and the Pumphouse and then Yammas Bar for great breakfasts and cocktails. The people at Yammas were superb and made our holiday better than we could've expected. They did the Libra rep's job for them! Don't hire a moped unless you really have to. The libra rep had two holidaymakers killed since she had been there. Car hire is cheap, but read small print. If you want to know anything, drop us a line at joniresonuk@yahoo.co.uk and we'll try to help - Jon and Samantha
this was our first time to anywhere greek and we couldnt have picked a better place to start!!
The apartments, whilst small for 3 of us where spotlessly clean and very well maintained.
The pool area was beautifully kept, lovely lawns, flowers etc.
The bar was the hub of our days and we felt part of the family with sam and alison. Excellent choice of bar food from breakfasts, snack and main meals - well cooked and presented (salads to die for!!)
Nothing was too much trouble for alison or sam.
The ONLY drawback was the hill into town - very steep on the way back up!
We WILL most certainly be back at the Panos - hopefully without the Libra reps who were a disgrace!
This has been the only place EVER that my husband has said he wants to return to next year - praise indeed!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND GIVE OUR LOVE TO SAM AND ALISON!
We had a fabulous two weeks in June at Panos Apartments. Alison and Sam were brilliant hosts. The apartments were spotless. The only problem we had was getting transport back to the airport. Because of the location of the apartments a coach could not get up to pick us up and at one point the Libra rep expected us to walk down into Acharavi with our luggage. Not a short distance! It was sorted eventually but I do think Libra should have organised the transport properly. All in all an excellent holiday and we are going back in September this year.
mywife and myself with our teenage daughter and her freind stayed here from 23rd july until 13th august and it has got to be one of our best holidays ever. alison and sam who work the bar and lots more were fantastic, and sam has the greatest sence of humour, they made our holiday. thanx for a great time you two.
What a lovely place. Much better than we could of hoped for.
The apartments are very clean and the view from the first floor apartments are across the sea.
Rooms were cleaned and the beds were re-made every single day!
The apartments have a pool and bar alongside with Sky TV, snacks and drinks all day. The couple Alison and Sam are very friendly and Sam can knock up a delightful cocktail. (Try the barman special!)
Greek BBQ night at the apartments every Saturday evening which turned out a little dissapointing, the food was plentiful and tasty but not much else happened. Might have had something to do with the Euro 2004 football being shown!
The bar was open till at least 12pm most nights, and they show DVD films from about 10pm, but you rarely hear it late at night and definately not into the early hours!
Would thouroughly recommend the location to anyone who wants something a little quieter, comfortable and very friendly.
Stayed at Panos in July/August 2003. Scenery very good with panoramic views. We were in the old block right at the top - not ideal for little kids. Apartment OK but nothing sparkling. Pool very nice and OK if you like sky television all day until the early hours - not exactly quiet !! Sam and Alison OK but the owner wanders around all day and night and gives you dour looks - not very friendly - gets very tetchy if you go in his swimming pool after 5. 30 pm for a last minute swim !
Be warned - if you go with Libra Holidays and the Rep called Andy drops you off at the Corifo Hotel MAKE HIM WAIT UNTI THE TAXI ARRIVES - ours did not and no-one from Libra even bothered to check we had arrived safely at the apartment. Had to make our own arrangements to get there.
Would not use Libra holiays again and if you do want a quiet location its better down near the sea front. Best bar is called "Captain Aris" - comfortable chairs and very friendly people - especially George, Tammy and Maria.
We have just returned from a fantastic two weeks at the Panos Apartments. The location of the accommodation is fantastic, views over the resort and nighbouring resorts are excellent. Rooms are very spacious and cleaned regularly. Pool and bar area are kept clean. Sam and Allison were fantastic hosts. Sams BBQ on a Saturday night must not be missed!! Food is top quality and very well priced.
Definatley would recommend this accommodation but not to people with walking difficulties as the hill will cause a problem.
10 out of 10!!
Panos is a brill place for a holiday, the location, immediate scenery and view from the balconies is wonderful. Had a brilliant time here and in Acharavi itself. Sam and Alison at the pool bar are wonderful and make everybody welcome and the Libra reps were marvellous. would definately visit again, hopefully soon. Missing it already. If you see Sam tell him the Manchester City fan says "Panathenikos are the best"!
We had a great time at Panos The pool was lovely Sam and Allison were great. Apartments are adequate and clean. Acharavi is a really nice place. Valentines restaurants are great places to eat. Adonis cafe is the best for milkshakes, watching the football, good food, friendly staff and the cleanest toilets on the island!!!
It was an excellent place to stay! The pool way very nice (and clean), the poolside bar made it even better. It was a very seanic location in the hilside. It is quite a long walk down to the main street and can be very exausting walking back in the heat. But a nice place to stay.
Panos Apartments is an Excellent place to stay. The pool is lovely and clean and the pool-bar staff were really friendly. Find photos of it on www.priceright.net/propety/panosstudiosapartments.asp!
I will be staying at the panos apartment block in acharavi corfu could anybody send me comments, photos etc.
