I want to book to stay at the Aphroditi apartments. They sound just what we're looking for. My only concern is the hilly surroundings. I'm not completely disabled but have health problems that make me tired suddenly. Usually I like a good hilly walk but are there buses up and down the main road to the beaches / tavernas if I got stuck. How much are taxis? Thanks.
A really nice place, visited in July 2004, and returning in September 2005 by car, Via Rotterdam, Germany,Austria,Italy and then the car ferry from Brindisi to Corfu. Cant say enough about the staff, clean, friendly, and reasonably priced
We are going to Paleo to Aphrodite apartments in May and wondered if anybody had any completely up to date info from this year? It all looks really good so far...
We stayed here 17th-31st August 2004 with our "children" aged 13,17 and 22 (yes he actually wanted to come with us this year). For various reasons we all needed a quiet relaxing break and that's exactly what we enjoyed. Magda and Elizabeth are fantastic. To sum up how welcome we were made to feel, when one night we decided to eat at the Golden Stars taverna, which is 2 miles straight up a mountain in the dark, Adonis took us in his car and arranged for us to be brought back by the owners of the restaurant. If you enjoy scuba diving or snorkelling, the seas are crystal clear with an abundant variety of fish (and octopii!). Suggest you hire a car from the owners, their rates are half the price of the locals and the vehicles are fine.
The apartments are basic but clean, with a great view of the surrounding countryside/mountains. The pool is great and the current picture in the Olympic brochure does not do justice to the place itself - even the Olympic rep agreed with that!
Buses are regular with the stop just outside (last bus back from Corfu is around 18:00PM).
Restaurants are plentiful and we didn't find one we didn't like.
All in all, Paleo is a magical place and the Aphroditi Apts are a superb place to base yourself. If you go, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Visited the Aphrodite Apartments in May this year. Have already booked to go back next year. We had a fantastic time. All the staff, especially Magda and Elizabeth made us feel really at home. The apartments are spotless as is the pool and bar area. The bar food is tasty and good value for money. Paleo is a bit spread out so not suitable for the less mobile. Lots of good places to eat, our favourite was Miltiadis Corner - just across the road from the apartments. Would highly recommend the Aphrodite.
We´ve bin in Aphroditi in spring 99. It was er very pleasant appartment. It is very quiet and the surrounding nature is magnificant. We have very good memories about this holiday.Unfortunately there is no Dutch tour operator which has Aphroditi in its program.
The people in Paleokastritsia are friendly and most of the restaurants are owned by locals.
Nearby was the Acapulco bar where Spiros was the owner. At that holiday we rent a motorboat from Spiros brother Thomas. With that motorboat you can go to beaches that only are accesabel by boat and so you have your own beach.
Can anyone tell me if Sprios is still the owner.
The Aphroditi apartments are fantastic. I've never been anywhere so friendly before. Magda, Elizabeth, Stathy and Antonis do everything they can to make your holiday really enjoyable. The apartments are spotless. The pool bar serves snacks during the day which are really good value for money and really nice. The Olympic rep Rebecca is also fantastic. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Aphroditi apartments to anyone - my husband and I will definitely be back next year.
Going to Aphrodite Apartments in June/July 2004. Have 2 children aged 13 and 11. Been to Corfu before year ago. Would like to know what Aphrodite Apartments are like i.e. cooking facilities, cooking utensils, etc. Are there good restaurants around and about. What are the prices like.
Planning to go to Aphrodite Apartments at end of June. Can anyone tell me if we have steep hills to climb and are there any good restaurants, tavernas close by and is the food good at the apartments. I also need to know what cooking facilities are available as sometimes we cook in do we have a kettle, toaster etc. Been to greece loads of times but never Corfu.
My partner and I never actually stayed at the Aphrodite , but we visited regulary for quite drinks and freindly atmosphere, which we are planning a return visit this year with our little girl , Ashleigh. Bring on the RAKKE!!
We will be back!!
The Aphroditi ppol bar is not the only one in it's area, in fact there are at least four open to the public within four min. walk
Th Aphroditi is named after the owners daughter, who we believe is now stufying at Thessolonika Uni.
Very friedly, very clean and very nice. It is a 30 minute walk from the main beach however, bu the pool are and bar are quite nice. It's the only pool/bar in its area - so it is used by the onther 4 complexes nearby. This means you get to meet different people and not see the same old faces! This does not mean it is overcrowded as people are always off doing excursions as well. Highly recommended.
any info comments on aphrodite studios paleo?
