A really nice place, visited in July 2004, and returning in September 2005 by car, Via Rotterdam, Germany,Austria,Italy and then the car ferry from Brindisi to Corfu. Cant say enough about the staff, clean, friendly, and reasonably priced
For the benefit of Alison, the surrounding area is very hilly, however, there is a couple of buses each day, and taxis are reasonable, but it is not a big resort, the walk to the beach could be a problem as it is down very steep steps and paths, don!t go in July or August as the heat will sap your strength when walking. (this is why I!m taking the car)
These apartments are the pits, 10 rooms, ours and downstairs was
occupied the rest were empty even in the middle of July, Cats were
having kittens in mop buckets outside the room, never ever saw any
staff, heat retention was unbearable, sign on the door, said don`t feed
the cats, because it attracts the snakes,(meditranian viper) however
never saw any. But don`t be put off with the resort if you like quite
friendly holiday its the place to be, plenty of restraunts, varied
food, supermarket that stocks everything, just don`t go to these
appartments. We are going again in September 2005 and staying at the
Aphrodite the staff (owners) cant do enough, freshley squeezeed OJ in
the morning, Plenty of toys in the pool, just a big kid at heart,. 25
Euros for a taxi into Corfu town. Love the place, but just stay away
from this accomadation
After Checking in at the Natasa Spiros apartments( total darkness, nobody about) we needed urgent liquid refreshment, IE Water lots of it and then the silly stuff. Bearing in mind it was 1am and the whole place was void of people, but we found a kind chap from the North East called Ian( who was slightly the worse for wear and was known locally as Yannis) He`s not a local he just goes twice a year, he took us to Jimmy`s Bar, Laid Back bit noisy, but ok for our needs at that time. Might see what its like in September
If anybody is going in September including Alison, we will be there from 5/9/05 till about 13/14/9/05, any questions I will be glad to help, EMAIL me on buster527@hotmail.com Any contributions for our journey home will be gladly excepted, ONLY JOKING, Yammas
Can only say what has been said before, really good cannot be any better, made really welcome. you get what you pay for and that extra touch, lovely people and thats why we will be back
we are a party of four adults who booked through libra holidays for a cheap seven day break. i'm disabled with walking difficulties. we all had a great time, i was thankful that everthing was within easy reach, and it being flat i was able enjoy most things but not much has been built with a disabled person in mind. . target studio apps. are very basic, there wasn't much room in the one room and my husband and i had to keep dodging each other, the beds took up most of any space. the only place to sit was on the beds, or on a small verranda, which faced the owners bungalow, complete with grandma's large underwear which was always hanging out to dry. the bathroom was miniscule and i had to put one foot in the shower base to sit on the toilet.the seat also had a large crack in it ,but with a large notice on the wall to say all breakages had to be paid for, i was very careful not to sit on the seat! having been to other greek islands we were prepared for the basic plumbing and always take scented nappy sacks for the soiled paper.the owners were friendly and we can recommend the breakfast and the cool beer, the pool was kept spotless, the rooms and toilet not so clean and did smell at times! their daughter who helped in the summer said that tourists were not visiting so much ,but when i pointed out that the smell of stagnant water in the ditches, along the roadside, which never dried up would certainly put people off, when there are plenty of other islands that we can now choose to stay at, she seemed amazed that stinking water would put us off at all ! the ferral dogs who roam about are quite scary, and when a young b***h came on heat they all fought each other for a piece of the action, on the beach ,which scared me and others rigid!i have never seen dogs roaming about on any other greek island. if like us you enjoy trad.greek food then choose zante or crete because everything in sidari came with chips we even arranged with the cook to have greek roast pots. on sunday, and they came cunningly disguised as chips!we sent them back and had to settle for some quickly boiled pots with a sprinkle of dried oregano.we chuckled all the way home. we took advice from this site and booked a trip from the booking office near shakers for 6e and had a wonderful day trip, the" rep" quoted 38e, shop around! all in all a very pleasent seven days, sidari is like a small blackpool, and the beach was nice if you are downwind of the outlet pipes, we were pleased to return home and won't go back again ,unless the town cleans up its act. ,
