Best Time to Visit

Just back from sidari with large group of friends ages 4-50 + Fabulous week. Weather HOT all week. Would not return to angelina.s apartments but no more complaints. Canal d amour village fantastic. Spiros at bar very friendly and helpful. Victim of own success meant shortage of ingredients for 'special breakfast' but made up with extras. Nice pool with free sunbeds, not too busy ,near to shops .Sister bar nearer to street with Christos very friendly and hospitable .Tips were refused. ! Bar not to miss is one for the road .Napoleon very generous with alcohol until late (early!)and not pricey but paid for next day! Beaches small but lovely. Sea beautiful ,shallow for long way but wavy. Further out though strong current when wind gets up-bewar! Lots bars ,cheap restaurants. Tap water nasty. Shame about mozzies. Top spot . :-)

We visited sidari from 7-14 September and much prefer this time of year, weather was much more pleasant - not the stifling heat you get in june/july - cooler in the evenings but still pleasant enough to sit outside with a light jacket on.  We didn't encounter as many mossies either which was a first - but plenty of wasps!!!!!!!!! although if you don't bother them and are happy to share your lager with the family of wasps you'll do just fine  The nightlife was quieter but still had a buzz about it.  The rooms were kept lovely and cool so you had a good night's sleep as opposed to june/july when I'm usually sliding around on the tiled floors for some coolness  Also the wonderful lighting storms that occur in the September month are quite spectacular - we encountered a wonderful lightning display whilst eating at Sea Breeze truly spectacular.  Also the sea is at it's best for swimming wonderfully warm and calm.  A delightful month to visit the island in my view - and honestly think I will leave the searing temperatures of June/July/August in future

Just returned from last two weeks of September in Corfu.  First 11 cloudless and warm (average 28 degrees), penultimate 2 sunshine and rain , and last day gloriously hot.  Must be a fab place to see in the spring, but green enough with lots of flora around.   Few kids (which is why we went) and a real nice mixture of teens / 20s & 30s / and retired couples, all of whom mixed well.

We have been there with terrific thunderstorms, floods etc and also been there when the weather has been fantastic. It's pot luck as to when the 'rains' start. Its this that makes the island so green so we have to accept it

We were there from 22/09/06-30/09/06.  First 3 days were really nice, but a bit cold at night.  On the Tuesday night it started raining and there was thunder and lightning.  I didn't stop for the next 3 days.  The worst of it was on the Wednesday, it didn't stop.  The streets were flooded, there wasn't enough drains!!  There were people going down the street on lilos.  We got stranded at the opposite end of the strip from where we were staying, had to walk through all that rain, and god knows what else to get back to our appartments, Yuck!!  We had a really nice last day though.

We went on the 15th september till the 23rd.

although we got there one day late due to flight delays the weather on the 16th was okay although i dont no what it was like in the day time. Sunday`s weather was terrible. we went to the shop down the road, it started raining (fine rain) then it started getting heavier and heavier. The road was flooded and the water started coming into the shop. We were stood there for nearly half an hour and the rain still did not stop. The road was like a river! We couldnt be bothered to wait any longer for the rain to stop so we waded on up the road the water was ankle deep. It was just thundering and lighting most of that day.
The rest of the week wasnt too bad. Not alot of sun for sunbathing on the beach most days. It was still warm in the evenings going cooler as the night went on.
I guess its just pot luck when you decide to go. Oh and for people who hate wasps be aware as it was wasp season when we went something about the grapes? they just sting anyone because they are dying out towards the end of the months.

Ive been to Corfu in September many times and ive had bad and good weather, i have also been in July and it rained loads so i think it is pot luck, They seam to still be having very good weather at the minute though.

Went to sidari last two weeks in september.  Had twelve good days of sunshine out of fourteen, as it can be very changable at this time of year.  We had two thunderstorms with torrential downpours during our stay, but cannot complain as it beats the UK.

We have been to Sidari for about 9 years on and off and it is still the best resort in our eyes anyway.
You can stay on canal da mor which is the quiet area then if you want nightlife its about a ten minute walk into the town.
We used to start off in the town then make our way back to the 'quiet' for the last couple of drinks and supper.

Great resort for couples, families and those who like to rave.

Its got everything.
what more can I say. in fact we are going 29th August so might see you there

Oh yes and the greek people just love the English and cant do enough for you

Hope this helps.

Stayed in margarita appartments in ipsos from 20th sept - 4th October. Appartments were fine. It had a good sized pool with plenty of loungers by the pool and a good bar/restaurant where the owner Chris made you feel very welcome. Everybody in ipsos were so friendly and we met lots of lovely people. Hello to viki and paul (tornados) lynn and paul (boyo) laura and Mark (combine harvester) and sandra and pat and co. The complex we stayed in was very relaxing and peaceful and was about 20 mins into main resort. At that time of year the resort itself was dead but we made the most of it at out own complex. I reccommend trying big mamas for chicken fajitas as the plate is massive.

We went in September from 13.09 - 28.09. The weather was great but it did get a bit chilly in the evening, especially just after the HUGE storm on the Sunday 26th. Apart from that clear skies, and some days were too hot for me and we had to go in to a beach bar, Poor me. Sep suited me cos I took my 6 yr old daughter and it was mainly families and couples, no groups of drunken lads and lasses!!

Friends out there have said it is all still open but would like to hear from someone elso too. Also are there far less people there than in the earlier months?
