does anyone know where i can get sum pics of roda online. Im going there on the 15th sept 2 days! and i havent been to greece b4 so i just want to have a look at what roda looks like, lots of people i know said they have been or visited and it was a really nice place.
ive just read the weather report for corfu for the next 10 days and its t storms and rain!!!! ahhhh
Corfu town is excellent. There are many many shops and cafes and bars. Lots of photos to take.
It is best if you go on a coach which costs you 8 euros there and back. The coach picks you up at 10am (roda time) and takes you back at 4pm(on the dot). I would recommened the coach best because if you get the local bus there are only two that run each day. So if you miss the one coming back it will cost you alot in taxi fares.
And also you wouldnt like to go in a hire car or scooter (it is not safe) the traffic is just mad to watch. everyone just going anyway they please.you have a policeman trying to control the traffic but all he gets is angry people shouting at him. And they like to bump each others cars so you are safer in a coach.
The harbour is wonderful with the view of the mountains(hills) and the big blue sea. The streets go everyway you can imagine in corfu town. There are shops and cafes in every street you walk down. Although it is best to walk up and down the streets as you may get lost turning all directions. But beaware that the odd scooter likes to charge through the narrow streets and the odd nutter in there car so if you have children keep an eye on them.
The prices are reasonable but if you shop around you may find that some shops are cheaper than others that sell exactly the same things. so you could be in for a bargain.
There is a fantastic bakery we found although i couldnt tell you where to find it again. It`s pasties are wonderful and cheap.
On the front (main road) you get pestered by the big resturants. So its best to keep walking (politeness does not work)
There is a park near the harbour which has a huge fountain and palm trees. So its a good place to sit when you are done shopping and to get a tan. Im not sure if there was a beach in corfu town i only saw a harbour.
corfu town gets a 10/10 from me and my mum. i would recommened this trip to anyone.
Me and my mum went on the boat trip and beach BBQ. The only thing i didnt like was the coach trip. it took over an hour to get to the harbour and i cant even remember where we were lol. (I had too many drinks the night before so i wasnt feeling to well.)~
We went on the 15th september till the 23rd.
Roda is a wonderful place.me and my mum came here for a week holiday. It was our first time in corfu and we stayed in the silver beach hotel. which i must warn people about- do NOT stay in this hotel. If you look at the photos on the internet by some companys you will see beautiful rooms. This is a lie. If you do stay at the hotel get a top floor room as that is were the new rooms are. If you are on the 2nd or bottom floor then you are not in for a very nice stay! the money we payed wasnt for a buget holiday, if we had payed cheap then we would have thought okay this is what you get on buget holidays but we payed full price and expected more. The rooms are bedsits. Nothing nice or clean about them. lets just say we slept with the light on!! we had to ask for hot water numerous times. The staff are also unpleasent. We did find a good bar which kept us out late so we didnt have to go back to the room of horrors. The mistral. They have excellent music and karoke. The staff are mad and you can just have a laugh all night. There are quizzes, bingo. I would come back here again it is a lovely place.
we had breakfast at roda park and it was lovely. we only found this restaurant at the near end of our holiday so we didnt have chance to eat their in the evening. But i would say go and try
