Im flying out to Kavos with my mate Wayne this Monday 23/08/04 for two weeks, staying in ocean beach club. Will be going out clubbing every night so email us if your their the same time.
Email Jamescwebber@hotmail.com if your going to Kavos week 23/08/04 - 06/08/2004
All accomodation in Kavos is very basic, The Oasis is near the barn, which is a good place to start drinking. From the Oasis you can sit in your room and hear the sound of about 4 songs being played at the same time, all full blast, I have never heard such a racket! If you plan to have one quite night in, it would be impossible as you get such a head ache until you go out and get into one of the bars/clubs.
After parting till about 7.30am, you get home-crash on the bed and start to have a really nice well earned relexed sleep, until 9.am when you start to hear the reps and a Scottish P.R trying to be 'cool' and act like D.J's, they play music full blast at 9am when you need to rest. You may wake up and relax to one chilled out tune, then suddenly you find the next tune is hardcore german house at about 9.30 in the morning full blast from the tinny speakers. Later you find they start to play some cool hip-hop, but they try to do scratching and it sounds so awfull, like some one crushing a cornflakes bag. I have never experianced such terrible d.j's untill I heard this pair of wannabe d.j's. After the first morning at the pool, I never went to our pool again as I couldnt listen to that crap music that played in poor quality and too loud. If the music was more chilled we would have spent most days at that pool and loads of money at that bar.
We spent most days at the pool next door to where futures night club is, not the packed one thats painted yellow with the volley ball net, but the one next door painted red that has an excellent view of the beach. It has one pool table and is run by Nikos and George the mafia twins, watch those two they are professional pool hustlers and comedians. Well worth a visit to their pool and bar.
The only night we went to Limelights is when Tim Westwood was d.j, he was awsome, doing lots of short, rough mixes. So solid were ensuring they where their as it was the place to be that night. The club is circular and pretty good, allthough it was well crowded that night. Limelights has a pool outside with outside d.j's and bars.
Above the club is a circular gym, I went their once it has a good view of the beach and pool and old basic weights aswell as a kickbag. They play rocky music while you train. One of the owners of limelights was sparring their with the boss of k.f.c who is a pretty good fighter. I did a bit of sparring with him and then loads of sparring on the bag. It is bloody hot in their. 4 euros a visit, check it out.
We went to this bar every night, it was so good!, the bast bar in Kavos. You can more or less do what you want, the staff are really friendly and dont hassel you, I dont remember much about the music but we kept coming back to this bar. Its in the center of the strip and poles to spin around on and a massive rolling stone spinning concrete wheel outside, drunk people try to perform tricks on this spinning wheel but it is very dangerous and painfull, I was lucky and only grazed my arm but I was told that some people fell on it and had their ball bags split open, ouch!
I definately remember dancing to the minder theme tune though.
We went here the night C.K.P and E.Z were due to arrive, Excellent night with a dance contest/burn between the two baddest dancers in Kavos, I personally think the one with the kickboxing pants who taught me a really cool hand shake should have one, but the winner who works in the barn is a fu@king excellent dancer to. C.K.P was brilliant and kept the crowd entertained but E.Z never even turned up, I still had a blinding night and I think no one was really bothered about E.Z not being their as C.K.P was good. But still at 20 euro's a ticket you expect him to turn up.
Above Futures is an excellent place to eat called the Roof Top, they make some of the best food in Kavos. The P.R from Roof Top Natalie, blonde lady is so nice, excellent personality, good looking and fun. Natalie is fit, if you read this Natalie then give me an email as I said we could meet up again when I go snowboarding at Milton Keynes Snowdome - jamescwebber@hotmail.com
I allways wanted to avoid this bar, but the P.R's didnt hassel you and we seemed to keep going back, the staff were good, it must have been great or we wouldnt have gone back so much. On one of our last nights they had a wet t-shirt shirt competition, it was funny the girls where just getting it on, an loving showing off.
Worth a visit while passing down the strip, small bar with 2 poles and a talanted m.c who works well with the d.j, plenty of fit birds.
Good bar opposite roadblock, quite small but plays drum and base, worth going to before roadblock but only when its busy.
This was the turf/hang out for the so solid, we went the first night and loved it, it is good and they m.c to get the crowd involved, we had a few drinks with Noel one of the twins who drinks j.d shots hes cool and spoke with easy C, I was impressed to see youth developing their rapping career with skip. Derek was down to earth. We watched the Imran Khann fight on the wide screen whilst so solid were entertaining the crowd.
This place is cool but not the best place to meet the ladies.
We found that Snobs was good good place to go to when you want to get away from cheesy music or annoying p.r's and their p.r was so annoying he just wouldnt take no for an answer, if he chilled out a bit we would have went in more.
This is one of the best places to eat in Kavos, the food was delicious and goes down really well with their sangeria, well woth a visit.
If this was desperadoes, then it is highly reccomended and does have steaks available. The staff were friendly and the P.R was lovely.
Dont go their, go across the road straight opposite mc d's to the small cafe, and ask for protein, they will sell you fresh chicken and mayonaise baguettes for about 2.5 euros thay are delicious and really filling. I miss them as they were so good.
