The waiters... what can i say :-) Good looking, charming, friendly. Who cares about the food when the service is so good. There was Greek dancing, flames, sparklers, speedy service and did i mention the waiters? I had spaghetti bolognaise on my first visit, not advisable!! Try and stick to the traditional menu... The pizza is amazing as are the salads, and both at very good prices. The desserts are nothing special, except they come out with sparklers in them :-)
We visited Faros Club on our first night. We never returned for the rest of the entire holiday, regardless of the free drinks and 'buy one get one free' offers thrown in our faces everytime we walked past. The Bar staff were rude and the service was slow and the cocktails weren't brilliant. And yes, the place was full of 14yr olds... And yes, the toilets weren't very nice!!
Flights... ok, accomodation... ok, transfers... loooooong and boring coach rides, overall... saw the rep for the introductory meeting and that was it until the day before our flights back home.
Great manager, great bar staff- very friendly and funny, overall a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. The toilets were not nearly as bad as many others i encountered on my visit to Sidari ( and i found their stash of toilet roll in the cupboards underneath the sink ;-) )!! My friends and i visited Shaker's on 5 out of the 6 nights we were there... We didn't like many other places :-)
Overall we were very pleased with are stay at the Christakis as it was clean, the pool was lovely and the location was but a minute away from our fave restaurant and a further minute into town. They did not provide toilet roll... the self catering facilities were good... Although we never had any problems i know that other guests had a problem with their shower and toilet facilities :-S
First visit and i loved it and am hoping to go back out there again in the future, if not Sidari then it's neighbouring resort, Roda. The clubs are very small and not very busy, the pubs were ok- all very 'British', lots of karaoke bars... Most of the shops were either souvenir shops or jewellery shops... DO NOT PAY MORE THAN €19 FOR A FAKE ROLEX WATCH, my friends and i found it highly amusing that some shops were charging as much as €200. Yeah right!! Most local people were friendly, especially if you bothered to attempt to speak using their language... 'Thank you' being, 'Eff Karistow' (spelt phonetically) i think :-S Have a great time, i wish i hadn't come back home :-)
I never bothered because i'm not one for waterparks, but my friends went along... They did have a good day, however they were disappointed on first impressions because it's not as big as they'd hoped. Oh! And when you're told to keep your arms crossed in front of you for certain waterslides- listen because my friend burned her elbows and arms going down one slide because she DID NOT LISTEN AND DO AS SHE WAS TOLD :-) Avoid being hasty and booking up with your rep... you will probably get a cheaper deal :-)
Corfu town did make a change from Sidari for my friends and i, however be warned that though there are more shops and it is much more scenic it is also significantly more expensive. For example, fake Burberry bags were selling for €10 more than in Sidari shops and the same went for souvenirs. There is a much greater variety of clothes shops in Corfu town. The restaurant service is generally poor and much more expensive than other resorts, such as Sidari and Roda. We had a terrible meal... my vegetarian friend asked for the veggie lasagne, but they served her the meat lasagne! Not a pleasnat experience by any means. Just be careful, don't be ripped off!!
