i would love to know what people think of kavos in general food, beaches etc etc and imperticular pandis studio appartments as im going there in just under 3 weeks
we stayed in kavos but visited benites twice, its a really nice place we wished we could have stayed there as kavos is a s**t hole.
Just got back from kavos yesterday and had our first good night sleep in over a week. we had a good holiday in corfu but only because of the water sports and the day trips that we went on if it had not been for these it would have been terrible. Its true what they say about the smell it does stink but not all of the time you just get the occasional whiff of raw sewedge. Also we'd heard before we went that it was full of mossy's but we only saw one the whole week were guessing the the swarms of wasps must have eaten them all and we did have two inch beetles in the bathroom. We wouldnt go to kavos again infact its put us off going to greece again. If your planning on going the boat trip to paxos is well worth the money and so is a visit to the capital kerkyra (corfu town)We hired a car and scooter and went twice because theres so little to do in kavos. Theres also some nice places on the way to town imperticular benites. The food in corfu was very good but watch out for the stands in the streets selling fast food people are throwing up over them during the day and then eating off of them at night. The jolly chef resturant was excellent and serve excellent saganki chicken. The face bar was excellent and shows new release films all day. We hired a speed boat for an hour which was cool and also went on the jet bikes. The water sports are quite expensive but well worth it. The main let down to the holiday was the return. We had to be out of our apartment at 12.00p. on monday but our flight wasnt until 6.45am tuesday the coach came to pick us up at 4.00am and it took about 50mins to get to the airport. The airport is a nightmare we qued an hour to just get into the airport and then another 20mins to checkin and that was only because we pushed in. finishing on a high note though the weather was fantastic in the high 30's the whole time we were there and the day we went on the boat trip to paxos it was upto 40. so we've come back with lovely tans. If your going soon have a lovely time but make sure you take enough money with you to explore other parts of corfu because staying in kavos is a night mare.
A lovely resturant on the main strip. Eat there early though to avoid the noise of the street. very clean and lovely people well worth a visit
brilliant home made pizzas baked in a stone oven. very clean and the salads are fantasic.
An excellent trip were you can see the caves and dive off the boat into the ionian. Well worth the money paxos itself wasnt brilliant but you only spend two hours there most of the time is spent on the boat the scenery is fantasic.
just got back yesterday. the weather was fantasic we had a great holiday although kavos were we stayed was a s**t hole. if your reading this wondering if you should go to corfu my advice would be to choose some where else we would never go back agin infact its put us off greece completely. if you still want to go benites is a very nice place and so to is kerkyra the capital.
I can answer my own question now!!! Pandis apertments are crap it reminded me of a 1960's council flat nothing like the brochure infact nothing like this century. The maid came once th whole week and we only had hot water about three times We also had a family of black beetles in the room. we couldnt open the door because of all the wasps and the terrible smell. and the balcony was shared with one plastic table for all the apartments in our row. We were overlooking a roof which was covered in empty takeaway containers, fag ends and rubbish. if your going make sure you hire a fan or youll cook like we did. and also take your ear plugs its very loud we didnt get one nights good sleep
