2weeks in kavos in august weather very hot over 130 nearly everyday drank all nite and recovered by the beach, got burnt take lots of suntan lotion with u, sea worm as well
We have just got back from Kavos and the weather in august is really hot! dont think any of us stopped sweating for the whole week we were there!! so if you wanna nice tan and can stick the heat go in August!
We visited Kassiopi 18 to 25 August, weather was fantastic, very warm but with a breeze that made it bearable. Yes there was as many Italian tourists as British but we love that diversity, thats why we go abroad surely. I met a British woman who runs the Corfu Animal Rescue Centre which was fasinating, the main contributors to the organisation being Germans and Italians (come on you British nation of animal lovers dont just feed the mosquitoes)
Went to Sidari for a week from 11th - 19th August, the weather was scorching and not a rain drop in sight. Temperatures were up in the 100's, had to keep taking dips in the pool every 10 minutes. had a fab holiday though.
We were at the Blue Bay Escape resort from July 1-8th and had a great time. The apartments are lovely, with air con and very clean, ours had a great view of the mountains. The staff were very friendly and I think I put on about a stone eating all the all-inclusive food! I'm hoping to go back next year, if its popularity doesn't price it out of my range!!
Just arrived back today from Blue Bay Escape Hotel - staying 1 week. Have kids aged 11 and 14 - they have had a fab time - we have not seen them all week, loads to do for them. Hotel rooms first class, very clean maids wonderful! Food excellent - especially if your kids are not fussy eaters! Scenery beautiful, weather very hot 95+, thank goodness for excellent aircon system. Staff friendly enough, some more than others! Entertainment not much but animation do their best! not their faults - but they do need couple of professional shows per week. Pool very busy not enough parasols - apparently they are on their way! Surrounding areas ie Kassiopi worth a visit, traditional greek fishing village. Hotel very safe for kids as long as they are good swimmers. Overall we had a fantastic week just a few teething problems as you would expect in a hotel that has literally just opened up. There is a problem with the bottom of pool in that tiles already coming loose and people cutting feet and having stitches - will be emptying pool in the near future to repair, they did not say when, so check with your travel agent if they have heard anything. The hotel is having a total refurbishment in October when it is closed for the season. They are building an additional pool bar (which they definitely need!!) as service at pool bar very slow. Animation team were all very helpful and funny especially Jay and Chris! Word of advice - if you are not all inclusive then good idea to upgrade as prices for eating at hotel very very expensive. You can eat in tavernas in surrounding areas but gates to hotel close at 8.30 pm and if you have young children there is quite a long walk around to front of hotel. In a year's time when they have overcome problems this hotel should be excellent. They want to upgrade hotel to a 5 star but personally they have got a lot of work to achieve this. Not enough staff in general at hotel - toilets at pool area always blocked. DO NOT PUT TOILET PAPER DOWN LOO'S!!!! big problem with sewer system - but by the end of your stay you are used to it! If you are going to Blue Bay Escape have a great time - you will enjoy it - but as we always say "a holiday is what you make it!!!" what does surprise me though is how many British People go on holiday just to complain all the time!!! Have a great time.
Just returned from Blue Bay Resort, St Spiridon, Corfu. A great two weeks. The hotel is beautiful with lovely views over the sea across to Albania. The rooms were good and kept really clean. The staff were mostly helpful - the waiters in the dinning room were extremely friendly. The queues for drinks at the pool bar were a bit long and they could do with getting extra staff! The facilities were good and the animation team did a good job - they were relentless - although they did leave you alone if you wanted peace and quiet. The kids clubs were ok but not brilliant. There was plenty for children to do around the pool etc anyway. I got the impression that if I'd had teenagers they would have been bored. There were quite a few hanging around who seemed like they didn't have too much to do. The management were nice and friendly and helpful. Got honest answers to any questions we had etc.
The surrounding area was lovely - Kassiopi was the best place - unspoilt - Acharavi was more busy but nice -the lemon grove cafe is worth a visit!
All in all a great time - would go back again but not for a few years.
I had a fantastic holiday at the San Georges hotel, just opened in May this year and situated just outside Sadari (10min walk) heading for Sunset beach . A family run hotel, they cater for all your needs. The hotel manager Achilles had a 'nothing is a problem' attitude and we were entertained nightly by the friendly barman called Tamasin (Sam)We shall be going back early next season to see our extended family after they return from their well earned break. I have looked for the San Georges on many webpages but as yet have found nothing, so if this is the first, then I highly recommend it. And remember a holiday is what you make it Regards Jimmy
Just got back tonight from Sidari - it's been raining on and off for the last week which is apparently unheard of! Even though at times it was torrential, when it stopped (sometimes not for 3-4 hours) it was usually warm. The last few days have been cloudy and overcast but we still had a great holiday and the kids still went in the pool - they were getting wet anyway!
Great weather. Hot days and warm nights. Tons to do. Good mixture of different people around.
I just got back yesterday aswell. I thought it was fantastic!!! The food, the people, the place. It's great. Go on the boat trips and stuff! The weather is 10/10! I didn't stop in the centre of kavos, I satyed just on the outskirts.. I'm definatley going again!!!
