I live in Sidari, but wanted a little trip out so me and 3 friends went here. And it was Fab, the food was great. The best Carbonara i have ever tasted. Its situated on the beach front which is nice esp. if the sun was setting or something could be quite romantic. Would defiently go here again if i had another road trip!!!!!
Stayed at the Beach Star Hotel in may. Our rep Greame was a great guy. Really friendly and helpful. Had no problems at all with where we were satying or the transfer. Although we found our excursion was quite boring...But overall everything was fab.
tut tut! im very disappointed in you son! swearing like that!
hana babe, your the best. going to miss you and bev like mad. had the best summer this year. thanks for making it so great and don't worry i'll come to the reunion in notthinham!
its located on the beach road. When you get to the crossroads (where mcdonalds is) you turn left and follow the road down, its about a 5ish minute walk from there. With the pool across the road on the beach bit. Its really nice though and the staff there are really friendly and the owner is great. I'm sure you will enjoy your holiday there. You can't hear any noise from the main street and its a pretty little walk to the town centre.
Sidari is fantastic, i love the place so much so that i have worked the summer. And could i just add that i also have tattoos, but my head is full of hair and i don't actually like larger. So there you go.
Sorry didn't get a photo of you matty, but heres one of me and you other 3
hi mam (emma) how you doing?)
hope to see you back there next year, i need my mam back. take careIt was a really good Restaurant. Nice atmosphire with firendly staff. I had the carbonara which was fantastic. At the end of our meal they gave us a really minging shot of something much to my partners amusment. Had Rose wine and it was lovely too.
Vivky pollards in bikIns? ermm spent the season there and just have to say never saw a single girl in bikinis PRing on the main strip.
used to come to corfu town once a fornight with my boyfriend. Used to havea drink at Liston and the rock/stone cafe (can't remember the right name). Sometimes though felt out of place and that i was the only english person around for miles. So i found it abit lonely esp if any of my b/f friends were there. but other than that i was all good. Once ended up here too when me and a couple of friends tried to get to Kassiopi
I lived here for a bit at the end of the season and it was lovely. I got my sheets done, toliet roll, my room tidied and everything. It was really cheap too, real value for money. Kosta is a lovely man, and he really helped me out when i needed it. My auntie and uncle have been firends of his for years and hes so helpful. The big screen comes in handy for those who miss there soaps etc. Top bar it really is.
Second what alison said. (part from 5 year bit. only 2 for me) But i walked home alone at 4 in the morning and never encountered any trouble. I walked up a dirt track that was really dark and never had any trouble. Its a really safe place. You don't have any worries about that.
Carla sweetheart...would you like another plate.
Thought it was really good here. the staff were lovely and polite. Food...well waht can you say. Im very picky when it comes to food, and its great if you miss good old english food. Bangers and mash was nice, and so were the home made pies. Top quality. My friend had fish and chips, it was more like whale and chips the fish was so big. Homemade chip too. Good value, you might have to wait a little for your meal but thats because its always busy. Well worth it though. Highly recommended.
Worked here for a bit over the summer. and have to say sometimes the serive wasn't the best. But Milan and Dimiti were sweet guys. But i do have to say they do the best curry here i have ever tasted. There vindaloo was fabulous, never tasted andything so nice in all my life. Thing from the new chinese and indian menu could be abit preicey though. and when it was busy (ie thursday nights) it could be abit of a disaster. But the staff are lovely.
OMG! Romanos was the place to go, if ever there were any little parties among the workers it was here and if ever we fancied a little snack we would get it here. It was fantastic, the staff were tops, depending on how busy it was would depend on how long it took for your meal. But its soo worth the weight. Its well priced for the quiality of the food.
And i back everything you said Amanda! spent 5 months over there and couldn't get enough of the place. they even delievered.I though this resturant was really nice. I eat here a couple of time when my parents came out ot see me. They thought it was fab, they ate here 99% of the week they were there. Never a problem with the meals at all, carbanara was lovely, the staff were pleasant and friendly esp the guy who worked on the door (can't remember his name) they don't perster you to go in. And young Skais who worked there. My cow...
Pedalos...are pretty safe if your carefull on them, coz they are peddle powered they only go as fast as you can peddle. Water wise its pretty shallow most of the way out, so again if your carefull then you shouldn't encounter any trouble.
the dirt track takes about 5 mins to get up. there are a hotel at the bottom, and a large hotel half way up so there is plenty of light. I lived opposite the Theodosia for the summer and you get used to it.
Sorry just have put my oar in here, Effie and Takis's english my be limited but effies is alot better than some people on the island. But on thing they are certainly not stubborn. They are lovely people and would go out off your way to help you. If there is any problems at with the Linen then go to the bar and ask me or Effie to get you some fresh towels. And i must say you were told at the welcome meeting about the linen changes, greece esp Corfu is not Spain.
And as for the showers it is a hand held shower as is the case with alot of places in Greece.
I'm really sorry to be doing this in an open forum, but i presonally felt the need to defend Effie and Takis as they are so lovely and welcoming. And i didn't see your comment about them being stubborn justified. I know everyone is entitled to there own opinions, the rooms may be basic but that is the same case in alot of hotels. Just beacuse you saw 2 that were different or in some cases better it doesn't mean they all are. Infact alot of places don't have Air conndioning unless its a newer complex. And it costs alot of money to get things like the installed in the rooms (approx 1500 euros per unit). If the heat was a problem you can hire a fan from many places on the main street. at possibley a fraction of what you would pay for air con anyway.
hi bev,
i'm glad you enjoyed your holiday with us. you were fantastic. you really lightened up that fornight for me. wish i had been there that night you went to the wrong room. and its far too quiet without ryan and kevin there. miss those 2 loads.
our takis is only with direct holidays, the olympic one is somewhere completely different.
i hope you can come out in sept. give the boys my love and i hope your parents are well.
take care xx
In order to request a room you need to go into the travel agents and ask them. as for rooms over looking the pool only 4 of the studios do the rest of the balconys are facing outwards rather then inwards.
Thats great news. You and your mam will be able to stare at Alex (the horseman) all day long without the men complaining!!! LOL!
Hi neil,
Oh and HIYA ADAM AND ANJIE!!!
I stayed here last year and the Beach Star is still the Beach star, it was the apartments that changed its name to Orestis Apartments. When came out with them its was with Thomas Cook not Thomson. Think its Sunset or something the brochur was called.
Hiya,
Hiya Russ! So i see you got home ok then. Hows your head? Been than the otherday after you drank nearly 1 and a half of Effies home made wine!!! lol!
It was a pleasure to entertain the kids, i'm not sure who had the most fun, them or me when it came to the pool. I got my own back on them though, they tired alot easier than me! and i even got you in the pool.
Maybe if we get Julia back you will return...Give my love to Kim and the kids.
Take care x
Hi, i worked for Effie and Takis this summer and unfort they don't have an email. Effie speaks english very well but doesn't read or write English. Unfortuntely i have left my charger in corfu for my greek phone and can't get access to the number as silly me stored in on the phone.
Hiya, the takis apartments with Direct holidays are, if you are at the t-junction (were the 3 pigs are) and head away from the main strip walk for about 5 mins and there are just outside of Sidari in Peroulades (on the way to Sunset beach) and you will find them on the right hand side of the road. Directly across from the Sunny Corfu apartments
Hi nick,
