I and 5 friends have just returned from Alexandros apartments 2 weeks ago and we ABSOLUTELY LOVED it, it was perfect for the kind of holiday we were looking for, relaxing in the day, lively at night (but not like Kavos!). Despite being put in the wrong hotel on the first night thanks to First Choice, when we realised we were in the Alex apartments we were so happy! The pool was so lovely we just slept by it all day with the nutters Anna, Angelo and the young Greek pool boys to chat to (girls beware the Greek men!!) and nice food and cocktails bought right to your sunbed! The rooms were simple but clean (The cleaner was lovely as well)and it's in a great position, right next to all the nice restaraunts and bars. Wish I was there now, not stuck in rainy England. Anyone going there-ENJOY
We booked our trip the day before, cost just 26 Euros and apart from the early start was definately worth it. I found the trip very comfortable, not too busy, mini pool on board, good guide and very relaxing to lie on deck watching Greece go by. In Parga it was well worth walking up to the old fortress, only took about 10 minutes and the views were amazing. Shopping in the narrow streets was lovely and although we didn't go to any of the tavernas, we had a very nice take away kebab. Paxos was not as nice, probably only because we spent a while trying to find the small, crowded beach but the whole trip was well worth it and had it not been our last day we probably would have done it again!
Lovely little Island, nice beach, beautiful crystal (but cold!) waters, nice walk over with great views and a nice taverna just round the corner from the beach
We had two lovely meals here, huge bowls of pasta (The nicest, can't remember its name had tomato, aubergine, bacon and greek sausage-mmm)The captain was really friendly and nice, as two 18 year old girls we did get lots of attention from Vassily and Spiros - they did try their hardest! but hey, they gave us lots of free cocktails! Everyone was really friendly and the food was LOVELY
Best Moussaka and veggie Moussaka EVER! Great service and they somehow got my friend and me Greek dancing infront of everyone as we were just about to leave. Had to go back there on our last night for the moussaka, saganaki and of course the Mythos.
flight was fine but the transfer was rubbish, the people at the airport were rude and we got dumped in the wrong hotel by the supposed sup**visor. the tours were excessively expensive but apart from the initial f**k up after we were put in the right apartments everything was fine and the rep malcolm provided much amusement!
Absoluteley loved Roda. Got back 2 weeks ago having been with 5 friends after our A-levels. Alexandros apartments were great, Restaraunts were all lovely, with loads of choice for vegetarians and despite there not being loads of clubs, I thought the nightlife was great, The Drunken Sailor sells the BEST cocktails (Drunken Sailor special) along with DOMUS (Roda and Corfu special)and the people working at both were lovely(Esp Alex in th Drunken Sailor and Angelo and Terry in Domus). We met loads of people our age and everywhere was more than happy to stay open until we wanted to leave (Normally as the sun began to rise!) The best restaraunts were the one next to the Drunken Sailor, The Newport and the one next to Newport. Greek men are hilarious and will say anything to try it on with you- piece of advice NO in Greek is OCHI!!!!! Stayed for two weeks, went on boat trips to Parga and Erikoussa, both very good, went out EVERY night and sunbathed all day, amazing holiday, would love to go back. Aqualand also well worth a visit. Must confess we didn't spend that much time at the beach, the pool was just too nice. Everyone in Roda was so friendly and the whole holiday was great.
