Kosmas Apartments - (Accommodation in Roda)

Claire R

We stayed in the 2 bedroom appartments, which were wonderful - spacious (even had a "living room"!), clean, and pretty mosquito free compared to many places in Corfu I have stayed. The pool area is immaculate and the pool is a decent size - and lilo's are allowed which are perfect for lounging in the sun on.
The family that own the complex take great pride in making sure the guests have the perfect holiday.
The weekly Greek night they put on actually has some of Corfu's best musicians, and on other nights you can choose from watching a current film, shooting some pool, or wandering into the town (which is about a 15 minute walk). The food (available from the pool bar) is tasty, resonably priced and freshly prepared. There is a daily special, which the family matriarch makes in the afternoon, which is traditional Greek cuisine (and for the veggies out there, if you ask very nicely before she starts cooking, you can get a veggie variant).
Altogether a great place to stay.
(I liked it so much the first time I went, I went back within 6 weeks!)

Horizon Hotel - (Accommodation in Arillas)

Claire R

Brand new for 2002! By Greek standards, this is 5* accomodation - the beds are king size, all the rooms have balcony's and sea views (amazing sunsets every night in the summer over the cape of Agios Giorgos). Some rooms even have an additional off-shoot room with a sofa bed for lounging on, or putting an extra person up... The "kitchenette" is superb (in fact, I wouldn't mind the same thing in my kitchen back home!) - all mod cons.

The hotel is only 2 storeys high, and has both spacious lift and stair options, and is good for disabled access. Only foreseeable problem for wheelchair users could be that the initial ramp up to the bar area is a bit steep, although I'm sure the staff would happily provide a tow. :o)

You can literally fall out of the hotel and onto the beach, unless you choose to fall into the pool which is right on the doorstep! The bar and restaurant are based outside, although there is an inside option too, should you get cold (in Corfu? Yeah righty!).

Although the bar stays open til the last person leaves, it's not noisy, as the vibe at night is more jazz than dance. The town centre is about a 5-10 minute walk away and the noise from there doesn't travel.

Next door (about a 10 metre walk) is the supermarket - selling everything you could possibly need from food through to souvenirs(although lacking in bottle openers the week we were there!).

The food is great, the staff are friendly, and the showers are power!

What more could you want!
