hi peter got phone number for yannis also e-mail phone is0030661093176 e-mail is hyannis@otenet.gr hope this helps bri burgess
Can you help me? I;m trying to get the phone number for the Yiannis hotel in Ispos. I;m hoping to be there in September this year. This will be a return visit as I enjoyed it the frist time around. Heres hoping
Nice place to stay, pool was fantastic rooms ok. we didn't have self catering so maybe we were ok. The view was great from our room looking over Ipsos. Overall not a bad place to stay cheap, cheerfull and clean.
6 girls 2nd july cant wait!
we stayed for 2 weeks in early june , kitchen is a joke!!!, rooms cleaned almost daily with friendly staff , barman george is a funny guy but janice the english women on reception must of had a humour bypass . overall it has a lovely pool area , beautiful views from most rooms albeit basic, the hill is a tough 1 minute struggle thats all and overall it was a pleasant place to stay.
This hotel is actually called YANNIS not Yiannis, and yes its definately the same place, even the rep always wrote Yiannis and ALL the Olympus stuff has the "I" too.
After reading this site, I had my doubts, but there was no need. The hotel is great for self caterers, yes the kitchen is definately a cupboard, an actual wooden cupboard, I thought it would at least be a built in cupboard. I had to take a picture. But if you opt for B+B I advise you to take a kettle at least (for pot noodles or coffee).
The only BAD point was the breakfast on B+B is awful, bread and cheese, with some juice! Don't bother, go for the full English, no faults there.
The pool is lovely, from 0.8m to 3m deep, nice to dive into to cool off. Plenty of sunbeds, friendly atmosphere.
They must have changed the rep that people mention here, because our rep was polite, helpful and happy, and we saw her every day except for 1.
Also the cleaning has improved from what people say. We arrived at 5am Saturday morning and it wasn't cleaned till Monday, but then it was cleaned EVERY day during the week.
THe views from the rooms are stunning. If you want a fancy room, don't go here, but if you want somewhere to change and sleep then definately do!
I didn't think much of the menu options at the hotel, and found a MUCH better selection and cheaper options at a place just down the hill called Calypso, lots of vege dishes too (gf was vege). If you want to continue drinking into the night, B52's was a very friendly place with plenty of atmosphere.
Oh yeh, the hill, not as abd as everyone makes out, can be knackering, but thats as much to do with the heat than the hill.
I have photos if you want them.
We have just come back from the Yiannis hotel in Ipsos Corfu, and we have had an amazing time, it was pretty quiet but most of the bars were up and running, Yiannis hotel bar to start off in is an absolute must as George and Marios are fantastic entertainment, two of the nicest people in Ipsos, and we will be going back just to see them next year! then off to Tiffanys bar, b52 is a must Spirros and Carol are another two lovely people, say hello from us!! shooters is a bar run by Milan a total nutcase very funny! Temple bar had only just opened but should be good in high season, and then there was Hectors nightclub excellent along with eveything else in Ipsos, the hotel rooms are small and basic but you soon forget about that when you venture out onto the streets, towels are changed once every couple of days, and the kitchen is in the wardrobe! ha ha the funniest thing we ever saw! the views from the hotel are amazing, this was our first time in greece and compared to everywhere else we have been it was our best! very friendly people and a lovely atmosphere, you will definatly enjoy your hols here!!

I went august 2003 with as 6 17 year old girls. we had the most fantastic holiday - ever!! the resort was brilliant, bars exceptional, accomodation absolutely fine and the pool exceeded expectations. we loved every minute of it with cheap alcohol and lots of free champagne. the reps and the pr's outside the bars were very enthusastic and made us feel so welcome.
it is the perfect holiday for a group of young people if you do not want the tackiness of a british boozy trip but instead a summer holiday in the sun with friends and loads of people to meet.
a holiday to remember and everyone we met there couldnt agree more!
We stayed in Yiannis apartments from 25th August to 8th September and had a fabulous holiday.
Location: Only 5 minutes walk from the main amenities of Ipsos meant Yiannis apartments were ideally situated for us. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars to be visited along the main street and can honestly say in two weeks did not have a bad meal anywhere. All the staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, especially around the pool area where george made sure you were well looked after!! His cocktails were awesome! The pool itself was an excellent size and there was always plenty sunloungers to go round so there was no need for early wake up calls to get your bed by the pool! The Greek night organised by the hotel was fantastic with the most amazing BBQ and a bit of greek dancing to follow.
Quietness: The hotel was quiet and peaceful when we visited at the end of August.
Cleanliness: We were impressed by the standard of cleanliness. We had our bed sheets and towels changed every other day.
In general for the price we paid for the holiday we were more than satisfied with the accomadation and service provided by the staff. Would recommend though that you opt for the self catering apartments as the rooms for bed and breakfast had no fridge.
All in all we had an excellent holiday and would definitely return to this hotel.
anyone know the yiannis apart/hotels web site in ipsos
Location: Very well situated in the moderately quiet resort of Ipsos. Plenty of eateries and bars nearby with the nearest being 3 minutes down the hill. The hotel has a wonderful pool with plenty of sun loungers for everybody and it also has an excellent pool bar with average prices (6 euros for a bottle of wine) This includes the ever-helpful George for serving of good cocktails and beers. The hotel does an excellent Greek night on Wednesdays with very fine food and the inevitable greek dancers. The karaoke was a flop (thankfully) and the air con is well worth it at 18 euros for the week. You also get a free safe deposit box at reception and the option to check out at 9.30pm if you have a night flight for only 15 euros.
Quietness: Because it is up a short (but by no means difficult) hill it is away from the scrum that can be Ipsos. That doesn't stop the other residents being noisy of course but that can happen anywhere! Ipsos is a nice resort with plenty of bars and eateries there and at nearby Pyrgi.
Cleanliness: After having read some of the comments on this site I had some concerns however these were unfounded. The maids did their service excellently with clean towels and fresh linen provided at least twice in our week long stay. I have suffered far worse at the hands of other hotels.
Other Comments: The Olympic rep, Karen, spoke as if she wasn't really interested in her job or the people that were there I have to say. That said we weren't going to do many excursions anyway as this is where Olympic will screw you every time. We did however go to Albania (ok visit, but more to say you'd been there than the actual trip) and the water park, AquaLand (left with only minor injuries........seriously).
Also the kitchen in the self catering aparment was indeed in a wardrobe, with a single hot ring to use, again however we weren't going to cook anything while we were there.
The majority of the staff were very helpful, with the exception of the one woman with black hair who worked behind reception and to whom customers seemed an inconvenience or someone to whom she could just be rude.
All that said, if I went again I'd stay there definitely, a great pool, an excellent location and helpful staff.
From Phil and Kerry (a 20-something couple).
If anyone goes to corfu in the next week, do not go to Yiannis Appartments and go to PANORAMA HIDEAWAY IN DASSIA you will absolutely love it!!!!!!It is like heaven on Earth!!!!! It is only 50 euros a night, And the best view of Corfu you'll ever see!!!
stay there at your peril! the hotel is ok, basic but functional, location is ok but if you ever need any help, or expect niceties like hand towels in the hotel loos (without having an argument) then forget it. like most tourist traps thay are happy to accept your money but if you want something doing (a new light bulb, a shower head that washes you and not the wall..that type of thing then forget it.
i have never stayed in a place where there are so many unhappy people.
as for the olympic rep, karen (hard to make out her surname as she scribbled through it on all 7 of the complaint forms to try and protect her annonymity but it is something like rossington), she is a waste of time, space and should be subject to some sort of fine for misrepresenting the word 'representative'. if you have watched any of the 'holiday reps exposed' programs on tv then you can get some idea of the level of service you are not going to get, only what you get from her is worse.
worse still are the solomou apartments that are owned by the hotel yannis but a few hundred metres down a track in the middle of a rural area. this place is a slum and should be redeveloped into a hole in the ground to increase its value. i probably dont have enough space to explain just how awful this place is but all you have to do is imagine your worst nightmare and then multiply it a million times - that might get you some way there. do not go there is my advice - ignore it at your own cost!
if you don't want to take my word for it, here are some of the comments written on the inside of one of the drawers i found
peter groom 2000 'good luck complaining'
dave 2001 'this is the worst place i have ever been'
anon 'after a battle with olympic upgraded to hotel jason, cost me 80 euros plus 30 for air con. best money i ever spent to get out of this s**thole' ...i have a digital image of this message of dispair if anyone wants it!
Yiannis is in an ideal location for every1, only 5 mins if that down the hill to the beach and the strip along the left. It ideal for teenagers such as myself. Staff were extremely friendly and the rooms were simple but clean and we had an excellent view of ipsos bay. Made it a holiday to truely remember. IF your going you'll have 2 say hello to george for me. If you want any pictures get in touch, pazza2k2@hotmail.com
Hi all,
I am staying in these apartments next month and would be grateful if Tessa Marshall or any others could sned me any photographs they have of the apartments and surrounding areas?
Many thanks in advance.
Graeme
I'm going to Corfu next week and I am staying in the Yannis Apartment, but I can't find pics anywhere. If anyone can help, I would be very greatful. Also are the apartments air conditioned and do they have a t.v??
I have just returned from a week in these apartments all on my own. I have to say that i could not fault them at all. They were up a very steep hill but only 5 minutes from the beach and the action. The location meant that you were away from all the noise if you wanted to be but not at all far if you didnt. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was clean,my room was clean and the food was very good too. The only thing that I could fault if anything were the rude, loud, and selfish english teenagers that showed no respect for anyone or anything! But perhaps I was unlucky with the ones that were there, as I am sure that not all young holiday makers behave like this!! If anyone requires any pictures of the rooms, location, etc I have plenty.....
I have just arrived back from a week long holiday at the Yiannis and I have to say I thought for what you pay it was a great place to stay. The hotel is set in nice gardens with a great pool area and good views over Ipsos bay. There is a wide selection of bars and tavernas in Ipsos itself, all of which are pretty reasonably priced. Ipsos wasn't quite as busy as we had imagined it would be, which wasn't such a bad thing. All in all we had a lovely holiday and I would recommend it to anyone.
we went there a few months ago now and it was the worst place to stay, after we all had a shower the whole apartment stunk of sewerage and off eggs! when we informed the assistant he didnt do anything about it i also know that our neighbours there at the time hated it as much as us! other than that ipsos was very nice..
Hi Val. It sounds like they've changed the Olympic rep. We had a man called Niel, he was awful. He would listen to your complaint, promise to sort it out, wait a few days, then ask for more details, then say how sorry he was, then laugh his head off behind your back. In short, he simply ignored the problem. In thew end I complained about him. Maybe it worked, he might have been moved on.
As my husband wrote the hill was steep but not as bad as the Jason. After reading the e-mail from Paul i would have to dissagree with what he said about the rep, we went in may and found the rep to be extremly helpful, even though we did not go on any excursions due to us already knowing Corfu at no point did she ever push us into going on any. If people took the time to get to know the reps and not put them down, they have a job to do and do it well. We have stayed in touch with our rep and r still very good friends !!!! Seascape is the place you want to go to funtastic !!!!
The Yiannis Hotel is on a small hill set back from the main road. It takes no more than five minutes to walk to reception from the road, maybe 200 metres. However, this location means that you will not be disturbed by any noisy sea-front revellers.
Yiannis has an excellent pool, with lots of free sunbeds, and a poolside bar offering really good food at modest prices. The greek salad is best value, but burgers & chips & ice-creams are OK too. Beer is cold, slightly more expensive than the sea-front bars, but it won't break you.
Yiannis has rooms on three floors, in three linked buildings. Because of the hillside location, they are at varying levels, with clean wide stairways and open corridors. Rooms are basic, but quite adequate. Marble floors, white walls, high ceilings, a toilet & shower, a wardrobe, and two beds. Nearly all have a balcony with a sea-view. It is very pretty, with plants growing up the sides, well maintained gardens, and no litter.
Breakfast is a self-service mix of ham & eggs, toast & jams, cereals, tea & coffee. They tend to close promptly at 10am, so pack an alarm clock.
We loved it, and would go again. Staff were great. Only problem is, it's booked to Olympic, and their reps are parasites after your cash. The Olympic trips are a rip-off, over-priced, under-friendly, crowded waste of time. Better to make your own arrangements for all off-site entertainment. Ipsos is full of cheap restaurants, good bars, and helpful hire shops. The watersports are excellent value, all the usual stuff.
the yiannis is a nice hotel we were there may 2003 our room had great views of ipsos and the sea.but people who are not very good walking may find the bank to the yiannis hard goin.also try tiffanys bar great people who soon become frends
are most of yiannis appartments in corfu air conditioned?
We stayed at Yiannis Apartments in may 2001
We thouroughly enjoyed our stay.
The staff were brill especially George the barman! He was a laugh.
The location was superb for the beach, shops bars and even other towns.
We hired mopeds for very little and went roung the whole island
We definatly will be staying here in the near future
Does anyone have any pictures of the rooms and of the main town or beach?
IT was lovely; possibly the best, most attractive appartments in Ipsos. TH e location isperfect; close to everywhere but not in the centre. Staff are freindly and helpful. Not too expensive. Beautiful views. can't fault it.
anyone know what this place is like?
PLEASE CAN YOU TELL ME SOMETHING ABOUT YIANNIS HOTEL WE ARE DUE TO ARRIVE THERE IN THREE WEEKS AND WE CANT FIND ANY INFO ANYWHERE. WHAT IS IT LIKE? ANY PICTURES? WHAT'S THE POOL LIKE? WHAT KIND OF BREAKFAST IS IT?
