I returned from the Monika aparts on the 07/07/2004. we had only paid £250 for the holiday each so i wasn't really expecting the ritz. When we got there i was pleasantly suprised. The rooms were clean and smelt fresh. The kitchen and bathroom areas were clean and tidy. I found our beds were very comfortable and we both had many a good nights sleep in them, although there did seem to be a problem for couples who wanted double beds. i dont think they exist there. The pool was fabulous, really clean and plenty of loungers. The staff were quite friendly and there were a few more English speaking people working there which helped. Our towels were changed only once during our stay of a week which could be improved upon, but they did give us 4 towels two of a good size. The location was fab, it was really nice to be next to the river and the beach and also to be able to hear the crickets as you went to bed. The food was good, and the drinks well priced. we stayed self catering and having the fridge was excellent, altough if a family was staying i think they would find it hard to cook. we had 2 balconies and left towels and clothes out everyday and nothing was taken, which was nice to know. The only slight niggle I could find would be to say that the toilets could maybe do with a clean a few times during the week as they smelt a bit of wee. i had a brilliant holiday there and would definately stay again. there are also a lot of quiet pools and bars close by, perros pool had a really good atmosphere staff were excellent, especially one gentleman who took very good care of us.
I have just returned from sidari and spent a few nights and days at Peros. The pool was lovely and clean in the day and at night, illuminated it looked brilliant. Peros is more of a familyplace to go, and me and my friend went on our quite nights out. we played pool, which needs a token i accidently put a Euro in before i knew and without mentioning it at all the man working came up and asked if i put money in and gave me a free game.he also gave us 10% off of his bosses gold shop which altough worked for him was a nice gesture. The food wasnt always great and did take a while sometimes but we really felt looked after. the had films on in the day which we watched and we also played bingo. overall a real good atmosphere which the staff made.
i though this was an excellent restaurant, the staff were very helpful and their service was good. There menu was outstanding, they had something for absolutely everyone. i tried octopus for the first time and it was delicious. the prices were good we had a excellent meal 2 courses including fillet steak, octopus, king prawns and drinks 2 each for 35 euros which works out at about £24 which is excellent for what we had.the restaurant was very popular and the greek night looked good. i would recommend this as a must do.
forgot to rate it properly below!!! Must do!!
the Flight was excellent, we werent expecting food and got given a lovely meal. we flew with Monarch airlines. we had been travelling all night and then had to wait 1 hour and a half for our baggage at the airport, which isnt their fault. we then had a 2 and a half hour transfer to Sidari as we were the last stop. the only complaint about that was we saw our accommodation 30 minutes before and then drove around for another 30 minutes for some reason. once we got there we were booted out and just given a room number and were just left to it. if we'd have had any problems we wouldnt have known what to do. we attended the welcome meeting where our rep kevin tried to get us to buy trips. we said yes to the bbq but later found it for half the price and changed our mind, which he got really pissed off about. he was around at the times stated but when there i didnt feel that we could approach him or that he wanted to help us. on our last day which was the friday we werent due to leave until 1.20 am saturday morning but still had to be out of our room at 12 noon on the friday. we approached him about this matter as we had therefore only had 6 nights sat-thursday night. he didnt even check this out and just told us to arrange a late check out with kate who worked there. when she cam to do it she set it all up and then at the end informed us we would have to pay 20 euros which he had not even mentioned. Overall everything was ok except out rep who was most unhelpful.
i thought sidari was fab i got back on the 07/07/2004 and had a brilliant time. it is a perfect resort for anyone. there is plenty to do for families, young and old. most of the people are very friendly and want to help as much as possible. The beach was good and there were many water activities to do. there are many shops and restaurants and somegood bars and clubs. In some pools/bars english sport/ tv programmes are sometimes shown. the greek night at the three little pigs looked amazing, definatelyworth a visit. the food and menu at El Greco was fantastic. the most annoying thing was theone or two flower ladies which were very pushy, but can be escaped. There are plenty of daytrips within easy reach and are cheap to do, (warning do not do them through your tour rep) go to the high street. the country side around is lush and green and easily accessible. if you hire transport the main road is excellent and is well signposted. if you decide to venture on your own, we hired a moped and drove to Paleokastritsa which was a stunning drive through very hilly terrain. the weather was perfect it can be scorching by the pool but the beach provides a cooling breeze constantly. it was never unbearably hot. this is a perfect destination which was extremely tidy and well kept. 10/10
