I have been visiting faros taverna since 1984,it has changed over the years,in the eighties it was a amazing taverna with yiannis and his father and mother which drew us back year after year and the best waiter in paleo,Mikey! a family member,somebody who you will never forget in paleo,the family are the nicest people you could ever wish to meet,paleo is the most beautiful place in europe i have ever been and the most lovely people you could ever wish to meet, people say to me why have you not wanted to visit anywhere else europe and i can tell them because it is sooo beautiful and the most special people you could ever wish to meet,also you must go and say hi to mikey,the best waiter in paleo and try the lovely meals in smurfs taverna on the left of the main beach.

This is truly a family run business, run by Yiannis and his wife Katerina as well as his father Spiro and Mum Maria (who are both excellent cooks).
This must be the best pool bar in Paleo. During the day you can just relax by the pool (loads of beds and umbrellas), nip to the bar for refreshments, or go and sit down and have a light lunch. You must try Yianni’s Dads mousaka with a few chips, absolutely fantastic.
In the evening Yianni is the entertainer, what a comedian. On a Saturday night it’s Bar-B-Q time, again the food prepared by Spiro. Yianni, his sister and Katerina get up and do the Greek dancing (watch out for the fire dance).
I have been here many times over the past 5 years since it was changed from a taverna. Once you get to know Yiannis and his family, you will become friends for life. I highly recommend it.
- GB The Jewel in the Crown of Paleo. Situated in the mid section of Paleo and run by a fine family this taverna has slightly altered from my first visit about 11 years ago. It was a resteraunt then with all that you would associate with a local taverna, ie. Greek Dancing Excellent food and service.
