Mimosa Hotel

Accommodation in Sidari

I thought that the hotel Mimosa was excellent. The waiters were great and very friendly and so were the bar staff. The food was also good and it was a great location, near all the pubs and clubs so it was not far to go. The beach was right on the front and they have a great pool. The entertainment was for everyone to enjoy. It was brilliant !!

I didn't stay at Mimosa myself but spent a lot of time there as my mum and sister were staying there and my apartment was a bit far out. I think it is a good hotel .It is claean and staff are friendly and helpful. My mum and sister wanted to change rooms because it was noisy and this was dne as soon as a new room was available. It had 2 big pools both of which were very clean and checked regularly. The drinks were cheap there if you ocmpared them to many of the other bars and the happy hour was a genuine buy one get one free. People moaned about the food but you got a choice of 3 plus a kids menu each day. What more can you expect for £500 a week. The ritz? You did have to pay for air conditioning but at least it was available. They did turn the water off in the day which wasn't the best and made the communal toilets disgusting but that was really the only problem apart from the fact that many of the guests seemed to love moaning!!! I would recommend it.

we went for a week on the understanding with thompsons holidays that kids were catered for . it was not until we got we found out them pool is excellent for kids safe clean thats about it the kids menu is poor theres no entertainment for the kids no games room .the entertainment on a night is adult based ideal for older familys our kids are 2 / 6 not suited . they turned the water of during the day not good they said there was a drout . no other hotels was off .the food is not good. we read this site before we went an thought it cant be that bad . but i assure you some off it is. most of the rooms have mozzy nests in them .the air conditioning isnt free its 25 quid a week disguisting .theres 2 bars the one on the front is dearer then the one at the back. the compear on a night is likean 80s blackpool hotel owner . dont let the brochure kid you about the english manager .hes a miserble tighta**e ... if you havent booked dont .we had a great holiday tho honest the greek staff are great 10 out of 10 to them we didnt let it spoil our holiday .me and a few other couples ther are going to ring lunn poly on monday to complain about this been advertised as the perfect family hotel. perfect for oaps . im sorry if uve booked an your reading this i wish i would off took more notice of this site cause i wouldnt of spent a listing to people talking about getting bit in the night during breakfast which consisted of spoonfull of beans ,cocktail sausage ,rubber egg, mini fried toast. im gutted . altho greece is a lovely place go greek .

My mum and sister are there at the moment and really like the hotel. They said the choice of food is good and it is nice. Their room is a bit noisy as it is above the bar area but it is bearable.Location is excellent too.

Due to fly out to Corfu on sunday evening to Mimosa, has anyone just come back, if so how is the hotel?!! i've been reading both good and bad things about the hotel!

Lee W

Just got back from Corfu and we stayed in Mimosa Hotel. Thought it was a great holiday, and the location of the hotel helped that-only 2mins away from the beach and all the pubs and clubs. Good food and friendly staff.

Kelly G

we have stayed at the mimosa twice and find it excellent . the owners and staff are great . we shall be going back there later this year.we wish Pat Mike and staff all the best!see you all soon! from Pat and Mike Stuart cardiff Wales

Kelly G

The hotel Mimosa was a very clean and tidy place. The owmers Mike and Pat were very friendly. It is a footstep away from the beach, and on the main road where all the pubs, bars and shops are,so it is very convienent. The bar staff are really friendly and down to earth, especially Leo.Whoever are going to this hotel want be disappointed, i can assure you.

Laura G

i am dreadin goin now after that comment is it really that bad? we are going in july

Tommy H

We have just returned from 2 weeks staying at the Mimosa, what a nightmare! The food is inedible and during the first week there I guess that 90% of the guests were complaining. Breakfast consisted of Concrete toast and Fried bread, rubber eggs, greasy streaky bacon, no cereal, no fruit. The dinner gave a few choices for each course, e.g. dishwater soup, crabless salad for starter, Potatoes/Chips with some sort of meat, (I'm told the spaghetti and the chicken were ok)no vegetables ever.To cap it all they advertise a different menu for people to come in off the street (with vegetables!), but guests are not allowed this menu unless they pay for it. The sweets were ok although they were always the same. There is a limited kids menu, but again this never changes. My wife had the misfortune to order the Curried Beef which was black inside on our fourth night there, we never ate in the hotel again after that. My 11 year old daughter never ate in the hotel at all!
We had a family room with a pool/sea view, what we didn't know was that we were directly above the entertainment room where the entertainment (Bingo, Karaoke, hypnotist, singer, then the same again the next 4 nights and so on) went on until 1am and then people congregated on the patio outside until 2-3am. We don't have a problem with people enjoying themselves but surely family rooms shouldn't be located here. To cap it all the cleaners start banging round from 7:30am so 5 hours sleep was the maximum you could possibly get.
Mike the manager seemed a nice guy and the staff are absolutely superb, but they need to sort the food and the rooms out. I can't understand how the snack menus were so varied and the food excellent, but the half board meals were so bad.
This was our umpteenth visit to Greece and was by far the most disappointing, sort it out Thomsons, you are better than this.

Laura G

i havent been there yet me and mypartner are going in july can you give me sum info , what is a typical meal?

Susan B

We loved the Hotel Mimosa. It is a typical Greek hotel. Basic rooms with good clean furniture and a bathroom. It did have a shower curtain though, but no hook for the shower head. The meals were typically Greek, a one course breakfast every morning from a choice of 5 breakfast and a three course evening meal from a choice of 5 of each course. Remember you did do not get veg in Greece. It is too hot to grow it, but choose a salad as a starter. The staff were wonderful. Mike the owner and his son are always at hand from early morning to late evening. We chose a room in the annex and got it.

Stayed at the Mimosa in May 2002. My mother had been to the hotel several times with my father. He has passed away so I decided to take her there again for a two week break. She cant walk well so we took along a wheel chair. We were given a ground floor room (no problems anyway they have lifts) and access to all parts of the hotel and to the outside was easy. The location was great. Unfortunately the food was not up to much and we had most of our meals out. I would stay there again but for you being tied into the full board situation, this year we are returning to Sidari (it has an adequate gym)this year but to self catering appartments

Just giving some feedback on the ALKYON HOTEL in sidari, we visited the hotel with 2 kids and found the servicewas great and the steff very helpfull. ( my only concern was the speed on vehicles on the main street the swimming pools are only feet away from the street)

Mimose Hotel is one of three hotels i may be going to on friday but I am thankful i found this site to give a bit of hope - other 2 are Alkion in Sidari and San Marina in Kavos - Had nothing but excellent reviews on Alkion but San Marina - bit of both - Hopefully wherever I go i'll have a great time - i'm a little worried though travelling alone with 9yr old daughter so have been scouring all sites to help !!

How someone can say the Mimosa Hotel is not very nice is unbelievable. I stayed there in June 2002 and am going back to the Mimosa in October for a week. I found that it is definately a 3 star hotel. I stayed in the new block at the back and found the room very nice. Bit basic, bathroom floor gets a bit wet because of the Greek showers but otherwise very comfortable. There is also a mosquito net to stop the buggers trying to get in to bite you! I found the breakfast not very nice but the dinner was lovely. There was so much variety and for 2 weeks I didn't get bored with it. I think what made the holiday was the staff. They are so friendly and couldn't do enough for you and are such a laugh. Plus if you get chatting to them they give you a free drink or two! The location is great. Just opposite the beach right near all the bars and shops. If you fancy a nice stroll the Canal D'amour is not too far away and it is lovely getting there to see the sun set. I would definately recomend the Mimosa to anyone who is after an all round excellent holiday. The only downfall is having to come home!

My husband and I travelled with Thomsons in May/June 2002. We stayed in an annexe between the old and new blocks. I think Thomsons have the old block and the annexe. Anyway the room was cleaned every day, the bathroom was tiny but you expect this in Greece. It was adequate. The two pools were both spotless with ample free sunbeds. The breakfasts were not very good - rubber eggs and inedible toast. Lunches, especially the salads were good value. The evening meals had plenty of choice, the greek specialities were nice and you could have rice or a jacket potato, not just chips. The starters were good. The portions however were quite small. Waiters were pleasant and cheerful and dinner was served over about three hours. Drinks were reasonable €2.30 for a draught beer and the same for a martini and lemonade. There was something going on in the hotel every night but you couldn't beat it for location. Opposite was the beach and plenty of shops, tavernas, bars nearby and a bakery next door. Taxis also next door. If eating out try the Margarita steakhouse or the Olympic on Saturdays where the waiters dance and swing from the rafters. Good excursion office opposite Three Brothers Hotel. Plenty to see and do if you can get out and about the local area. Don't bother with the welcome meeting it's just a plug for their trips.
