ive been going to the hawaii restaurant , amadeus pool and bar for years and i know all of the waiters , waitresses barstaff supermarket workers shopowners and apartment owners there all of which are really cool people ive also stayed at the mykios apartments which were great and know a guy who who works for the maria apartments who is going out with a friend of mine and its a great place to go and eat and drink and theres nothing wrong with the food at all and i'd definetly reccomend it as a place to go visit| kristin marriott (Wednesday, May 23, 2007) | 1 post by kristin marriott | |

Weve been back to Sidari about six times ! Me and my family been once,for a meal and then for a drink to Hawaii restaurant...and Amandeus Bar... The food there was CRAP!!!The portion was very small,and the tasty was not good at all.The waiter and the owner Alexia was really rude with us because i complained about the time i was waiting for the meal ...ONE HOUR AND FOURTY MINUTES JUST FOR THE STARTERS!!!!!! Thats why the prices on the boards outside of the restaurant are so cheap,because is so simple....you DON'T EAT!!!WE PAID AND GO AWAY!!! The following day i heard "THE SAME STORY"from many others around the pool.Loads of people say that Hawaii restaurant MUST CALLED "HELL RESTAURANT" THANK YOU | ||||||||||

| I have been to Sidari four years running. We stayed in the Mykios apartments just up the road from Hawaii the first time we went, and got the name for Hawaii whilst we were there and every year since we stay in Hawaii apartments. For our 2004 holiday we booked the day after we returned last year but unfortunately Sunset did not renew the contract with the apartments and so we had to go and stay in different apartments. This year we stayed in Maria Apartments just up the lane at the side of the Co-Op it is owned bu the same family that own the Hawaii apartments and they are a lot nicer than Hawaii very modern. Sidari itself is a lovely resort very quiet, and peaceful. The beaches at Canal D'Amour are lovely and the sea is very clean. For food you can't go wrong with the sea Breeze restaurant in town therre set meals are excellent value at about four euros for a three course meal, the stifado and the grilled fish are excellent by far the best available. I also love the astoria restaurant which is down the side of the dive shop just passed the three brothers hotel in town. The service is amazing. You should also try Churchills just down from the apartments the fish and chips are huge about eight euros but really worth it you will never have had fish like it in your life it is huge and the chips are homemade. I dare you to finish it. Travelling to Corfu town you are best to book with Vlasseros travel in town just past the San Remo restaurant (kebab shop) Marguerite is really friendly she is from England but lives over in Sidari. Four euros for the return in to Corfu town on an air conditioned coach, you can't go wrong with them for any excursions. | ||||||||||

| well we are back,the weather was 30 deg's every day,instaed the estimated 22.the apartments were clean,bit of a mess up when we got there with which room we were in but eventually we got sorted,the airprt really did put a downer on it for us tho,both going and coming back,utter chaos.we found the hawaii restaurant quite expensive,but found angelina's €2 for kids meals(under 12's) and if you had the daily special it was €4.60,we got a free bottle of house wine every time we went,they were excellent with the kids,and acknowledged us as "nice family".we did go on one excusion with the company a beach bbq which ended up costing €105.50,which we had gone into town it would have been half the cost.went horse riding through s.b travel just over the bridge.very good.also went on the green bus twice to corfu town and once to kassiopi.on time every time and a damn site cheaper.didnt like kassiopi nothing there really.corfu town reminded me of Yorks the shambles.kids had a great time got great tans and enjoyed playing on sidari beach.the building works on started on the day we were leavingif you stand at the front gate the are just behind and to the left of the restaurant.say hi to michelle the rep from the varleys please. hope you have a great time when you go,we wont be having another holiday till 2005 now got to save up best of luck mel | ||||||||||

| HI MEL. FOR SUMMER 2004 WE BOOKED THROUGH OUR LOCAL CO OP TRAVEL AGENT WHICH GOES BY THE NAME OF "TRAVELCARE" THE COST FOR 2 ADULTS ANS 2 KIDS (WELL DELINQUENT 15 YEAR OLDS!!!) IS £1642 BUT THAT IS BECAUSE WE ARE TRAVELLING PEAK PERIOD - WE GO OUT ON THE 30th JULY. I AM SURE THE BUILDING WORK WONT SPOIL YOUR HOLS AT ALL. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT IF YOU ENJOY IT THIS YEAR AND WANT TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR, YOU HOT FOOT IT DOWN TO THE TRAVEL AGENTS AS SOON AS YOU RETURN BECAUSE THEY GET BOOKED UP VERY QUICKLY - MY FRIEND TRIED 2 DAYS AFTER ME FOR A 2 BED APARTMENT THE SAME TIME AS US NEXT YEAR AND COULDNT GET ONE. HAVE A GREAT TIME AND I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU ON YOUR RETURN. P.S. THE BUILDING WORK GOING ON MIGHT BE YANNIS AND SPIRO AS THEY WERE PLANNING TO BUILD THEIR OWN APARTMENTS SOMEWHERE ALONG THAT ROAD BECAUSE ITS NEAR TO WHERE THEY ALL LIVE, AND IF ITS JUST 100M FROM THE HWAWAII IT COULD BE THEM. | thank you gill,we go on monday and i have just recieved a call from the travel agents to say that 100m away there is building works going on,hope it wont spoil the hols,glad you had a good time.will post a message when we get back on the 19th may.could i ask you roughly the cost of your hols as we cant get hold of next years brochure many thanks mel | ||||||||||

| TO MEL VARLEY. THANX FOR THE INFO - LAST WEEK I BOOKED UP FOR THE HAWAII APARTMENTS FOR SUMMER 2004 - THIS SHOULD GIVE YOU A GOOD IDEA AS TO HOW GOOD THE PLACE REALLY IS. FOOD IN THE HAWAII RESTAURANT STRAIGHT ACROSS THE ROAD FROM YOUR APARTMENT IS EXCELLENT, AND HELEN THE WAITRESS - IF SHE IS STILL THERE - WILL KEEP YOU ALL SMILING. THERE IS ANOTHER LITTLE RESTAURANT JUST DOWN THE STREET NOT FAR FROM THE PLANET BAR, I THINK ITS CALLED ANGELAS AND HER STIFADO IS THE BEST IN TOWN AND VERY VERY REASONABLY PRICED. FOR THE KIDS I ASKED MY DAUGHTER RACHAEL WHICH WAS THE BEST FOOD AND SHE RECKONS HAND DOWN THE HAWAII OR THE AMADEUS (YOUR POOLSIDE BAR/RESTAURANT). LOADS OF PEOPLE SAY THAT DAMIAS YARD IS GOOD FOOD BUT EVERY YEAR I HAVE TRIED IT AND EITHER FELT LIKE OR HAVE ACTUALLY THROWN UP!! THE THREE LITTLE PIGS IS NOT ALL ITS CRACKED UP TO BE EITHER. MARIAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ROAD ON THE LEFT HAD SIDE IS GOOD AND THROWS SOME TERRIFIC TRADITIONAL GREEK NIGHTS BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM YOU MAY ENCOUNTER THERE IS SOMETIMES YOU WAIT AGES FOR YOUR FOOD - ONE YEAR WE ACTUALLY NICKNMAED IT THE "TWO HOUR BAR" IT TOOK THAT LONG!! PAOLO IN THE FACE BAR IS A LOVELY LAD AND MAKES YOU ALL VERY WELCOME. AS FOR THE DAY TO DAY GROCERIES GO AND SEE GEORGE IN THE MELITSA SUPERMARKET VIRTUALLY NEXT DOOR TO THE APARTMENTS HE HAS EVERYTHING THAT YOU COULD POSSIBLY NEED EVEN ENGLISH SAUSAGES AND COWS MILK JUST LIKE AT HOME. THE BAKERY DOWN THE ROAD IS AB FAB BUT YOU DONT EVEN NEED TO GO JUST ASK GEORGE AND HE WILL GET IT IN HIS DELIVERY FRESH EVERY MORNING ABOUT 10am. THE ONE THAT IS LIKE A BIG ROUND CRUSTY COB IS THE BEST OF ALL!! UP AND DOWN THE STREET YOU'LL FIND ALL THE LATEST FILMS ARE SHOWING FOR FREE WITH AGOOD SELECTION FOR EVERYONE. THERE IS A LOVELY LITTLE BEACH IF YOU CROSS THE ROAD FROM GEORGES SUPERMARKET AND WALK UP THERE PAST THE OLIVE GROVE APARTMENTS THERES A DIRT TRACK DOWN TO THE BEACH - A BIT STEEP - BUT ONCE ON THE BEACH ITS SO SMALL THAT YOU'LL NEVER LOOSE YOR OFFSPRING AND THEY'D HAVE TO WADE OUT QUITE FAR BEFORE GETTING OUT OF THEIR DEPTH. BEST OF ALL IT DOESN'T GET OVERCROWDED. SIDARI TOWN IS WORTH GOING TO ONCE (HOLD YOU NOSE AS YOU CROSS THE LITTLE BRIDGE) BUT FOOD IS QUITE A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE DOWN TOWN AND REALLY YOU CAN MOST OF THE THINGS YOU NEED, EVEN SOUVENIRS ON THE DOORSTEPS OF YOUR APARTMENTS. POP INTO THE HUCCI KUCCI BAR JUST DOWN THE ROAD FROM THE APARTMENTS AND SAY HELLO TO YANNIS, SPIRO AND HIS WIFE SUZIE, THEY ARE ALL ABSOLUTELY LOVELY. IF HIS NIECE ELBETHA IS OVER FROM ATHENS SHE WILL KEEP YOU ALL AMUSED ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIKE THE SONG JUST A LITTLE BIT (KNOWN AS SEXY BY ELBETHA) BY LIBERTY X. | in reply to gill we booked through sunset summer sun.which is thomas cook,in this brochure they offer 2 weeks for the price of 1.it cost us 740pounds for a family of 5 in may,this is including transfers and everything,which i think sounds very good.as it is my first holiday abroad im unsure about the quality of accomodation etc,also im trying to budget for food,any ideas on rough prices of food etc? many thanks melanie | ||||||||||
