Paleokastritsa - (Resorts on Corfu)

A beautiful picturesque resort with crystal clear waters (though rather cold considering the air temperature around you), rugged hillsides and lots of fruit trees, wildlife etc. The people are friendly and the usual laid back Greek ambience affects you the minute you arrive.

However, Paleokastritsa does have a down side. The resort is long and straggly, and so it takes nearly an hour to walk the full length of the resort - as you can imagine in the heat of the day this means you work up rather a sweat. The beaches are also crowded and quite shingly - definitely not suitable for a non-swimmer like one member of our party.

Despite this we've had a wonderful holiday there, and were happy to mostly just relax by the pool. I would recommend a hire car for those brave folk who want to explore more.

Marilena Apartments - (Accommodation in Paleokastritsa)

Thoroughly agree with everything that's been said so far. The apartments are beautiful and clean, with everything you need to enjoy your holiday (and more considering more basic Greek accommodation that I've experienced in the past).

The family are friendly and helpful and only want to make sure your comfortable. There is an excellent taverna over the road, a supermarket just beyond it and a great pool bar - with the largest swimming pool in Paleokastritsa - right next door.

The only down side is it's right on the edge of the resort and so a bit of a walk to explore Paleokastritsa in full.

I would definitely go back to the Marilena again, and recommend it. Just a shame I wouldn't hurry back to Paleokastritsa.

Mermaid Bar - (Bars in Paleokastritsa)

Fabulous swimming pool, friendly bar staff, good food and drink, what more could you ask for. We got quite used to the place as it was right next to our hotel, and the waiter there appreciated our attempts at some Greek

Oasis Taverna - (Restaurants in Paleokastritsa)

Could not speak more highly of the Oasis. Friendly staff, good food, great value. Impromptu entertainment. Efficient service. Everyone else we spoke to there said the same thing, and many parties, including us, went back on a regular basis. Definitely give it a go!!
