The Sea View apartments are located opposite Cactus Bar in Paleo, a great location, near to La Grotta Bay, which is an absolutely stunning beauty spot. All the rooms are clan and modern, with air conditioning and televisions. Studios sleep 2, Apartments 4. The rooms are all reached by going down stairs, so unsuitable for those with walking difficulties. Guests have use of the pool at Phivos studios, around 100m away, although there are also pools at Cafe Irene and Valley bar, located on either side of the property.
The Villa Maria Apartments are located on the Lakones road, among lovely, wel kept gardens. The downstairs studios sleep 2 - 3 and the upstairs rooms are apartments which have 3 double or twin bedrooms. They all have air conditioning too. The rooms themselves are quirky and typically Greek, (read: basic) but they have everything you need. The amenities and beaches of Paleokastritsa are around a 15 minute walk from the property and the nearest supermarket is around a 10 minute walk. It closes at 10pm on weekdays and 2pm on Sundays, so if you arrive on a night flight you may need to make some provision in advance. The lovely owner, Spiros, puts a bottle of water in the fridges for the guests on arrival. Guests have use of the pool at Phivos studios which are a 10 - 15 minute walk from the property, although the Acapulco and Aphrodite pools are also close by.
Hi Karen, the Anemona is nowhere near as bad as you would imagine from reading some of the comments on here. There are a couple of things to bear in mind about Greek accommodation in general, which if you have been to Greece before, you will understand. Firstly, Greek accommodation is basic, but the Anemona has everything you need. There are no double beds, shower curtains or air conditioning. The lower floor rooms can be subject to some damp, especially after a heavy downpour and this is because there is no through-ventilation, there are only windows and doors at the front of the studios, and also beacuse the lower rooms are built 'into the ground'. Secondly, Paleokastritsa is a village, and the mentality and the attitude of the locals reflects this. They are hospitable, laid back and take a relaxed approach to most things, which can be equally terrible and wonderful! The owner, Costas is one of the friendliest and loveliest people you could hope to meet, and he is eager for people to feel comfortable at his apartments, although from reading some of these comments you may not think this to be the case, and he is certainly not greedy! I hope you enjoy your stay in Paleokastritsa, and something also tells me you will be allocated a nice room, upstairs at the Anemona...
hi there angel... the mistral bar has recently been taken over by a lovely greek / english couple and therefor under new management. i work in paleo, and have been there a couple of times this summer. great music, brand new sw**ky toilets and the whole place was a clean and shiny as a new pin. paleo is kind of lacking in nightlife, but the mistral does a pub quiz and karaoke every week. it might not be for everyone, but at least it means there's more on offer for those who like a night out.
