Just came back from Sidari two weeks ago. I can't believe that anyone who has eaten in Venezia could say it was anything other that excellent. The service was first class and the waiters looked like the were competing for the olympics in their effort to get round the large crowds. The pizza from the large stone oven was excellent not dissimilar to pizza I have eaten in Italy and the 4 cheese pasta equally as good. We have toured the entire island over the last 7 years and have not came across a beter place for pizza. Oh and did I forget to say a meal for four for approximately £20.00 pound. SUPERB!
We went on the recommendations from this site and it proves that you do not have to be a guinea pig on holiday as all the comments are true. The portions are large. The fajitas, chilli, mixed bbq platter and nachos are all delicious. And to add something new it is also a nice change to get food that is hot and not just luke warm as often found in the traditional Greek restaurants. TIP: Try the nachos and a pint whilst watching a film at lunch time and avoid the midday burn. Very refreshing.
We ended up here by chance when we requested a move from Katia Beach Apartments in Kassiopi due to the uneven pool area for our kids. (Thank you Airtours for your help.)We were offered a choice of accomodation either poolside or up the hill. Thankfully we chose up the hill as whilst the entertainment team were good the noise for people with toddlers may be a bit much although it doesn't run all that late. The accommodation is excellent. If you have tried Corfu's more traditional accomodation you will breathe a sigh of relief when you open the door. The rooms are bright and airy with some modern furniture and a TV, but after two weeks of news and sport thats not all it first seems. The bathroom is typically greek with a shower tray and a wrap round curtain which can cause a minor flood if you forget the keep the curtain within the tray but apart from that, it is all nice and new. The kitchen is also typically greek with 2 cooker rings and a fridge. The air-con is a welcomed sight in the hotter months and is free if you are all inclusive or 5 euros a night self catering. Dont be put off by the hill up to the apartments as transport is available for the less able and once you have walked it a couple of times it is not that bad. The pool area is first class and is very well maintained. However, some mornings we felt we would have to break the ice to get in the pool as it can be extremely cold even on a 30oC day. We never ate in the restaurant as we were self catering but did manage to have a nosy and according to others the food was fine. Sidari centre is only a 5 min walk but far enough away not to be bothered by the nightlife. Overall, we would have no hesitation in recommending Sidari Village as the best accommodation we have stayed in. I forgot to mention the Kids Club which my 10-year-old son decided was far better than time with his dad.
