please someone tell me that roda isn't all english bars, quiz nights and karaoke. all the comments that recommend the place just rave about these elements. We're going for a week in July- will we really have to take some"chav" repellant?

We have just spent one week at Robertos 2 app- not brilliant but that's to be expected from booking with manos I guess.Roda itself was pleasant enough but very empty, it seemed as if there are too many bars/restaurants and not enough tourists to fill them so they are trying desperately to get custom by having quizzes, bingo,Elvis impersonators and drag queens - not what I go to Greece for but popular with some.There are some quieter bars but they are a bit too quiet(no pleasing some is there!)
Highly recommend Nikos' family restaurant great service and authentic greek food - try the prawn saganaki

Lovely! friendly service, excellent food ate there 6 out of 7 nights every meal a gem whether traditional greek or pizza. Particular praise for prawn saganaki/cheese saganaki/swordfish and of course the mythos!! Yamass
