Sidari - (Resorts on Corfu)

There were 10 of us staying at the Dionyssos Pension in Sidari for the first week in May. The location of this accomodation is excellent and some rooms face the main street, others face the beach. We had a wonderful sea view. although it was cool during most the day (which we liked). The rooms facing the main street were basking in sunshine constantly which was hard when it was warm, although the rooms do have air conditioning systems in them which are quite good. TV leaves a lot to be desired, but we never bother much with it on hols anyway, but there weren't any decent channels, and we had problems trying to get a decent picture. The rooms are a good size, especially if you get a sea view. If you are a family of 4 or more I would specifically ask for room 11 - it's like a mini apartment with 2 beds, 2 bathrooms, good sized kitchen and good storage space - and 2 balconies (i think) overlooking the beach. The breakfast downstairs in the Dioyssos Restaurant is okay - it sets you up for the day. We eat most nights at The Sea Breeze - good food, good prices and not too bad service for Greece. We also visited the Hotel across the road (you can use their pool too) as their entertainment was pretty good, Greek Dancing, Karaoke etc, but beware the drinks prices, especially if you drink cocktails! Best to have a few elsewhere at half the price first. The accomodation was okay and we would go back, because of it's location. Sidari itself was lovely, and we all had a great holiday. The only drawback was that the Kosmar Rep took us on a detour via Ipsos & Dassia before taking us to Sidari, which was a journey of two and a half hours (although when we got on the bus, she said it would only be 50 mins!) It was the very same on return. Pleased to see a MacDonalds has opened which is great for kids. In May there wasn't much to keep kids entertained, but the swimming pool helps out there. Would recommend it, but do check all bills (especially in Corfu Town) as on a few occasions we had an extra 3/4 Euros each added after the usual cover charge! (VERY unusual in Greece, and a bit disappointing!) Still love the Greek people though, and you do feel as if you've had a rest - not like Spain at all!

Dionyssos Pension - (Accommodation in Sidari)

We really enjoyed staying here. It was the first week in May, so it was relatively quieter than it would be at the height of the season. The location must have been one of the best in the resort. It was very central, which we like, and right on the beach & main street too. We used the Mimosa swimming pool across the road which serves great (& cheap) food all day and the staff were friendly. The breakfast in the Dionyssos Taverna down stairs was good, and was a full english breakfast. The staff were nice too. The rooms are basic but clean, and the sea view makes up for that anyway. Next time we go back we will definitely stay here again. Only one draw back - when people are coming in and going out you can hear everything echo in the hallway, but it's still worth booking this accomodation.
