I must say, I've been going to corfu with my family since I was 7 or 8, we have always stayed at the Marina Apartments, and I have never witnessed any behaviour to suggest that Vasilios is at all a violent man. He, and his family, have always been charming to us and other guests, no matter who they are. Anyone slandering this brilliant hotel is obviously a complete moron who doesn't deserve to stay in places like the Marina.
I've just returned from a 17 day stay and I am looking forward to next year already!

| After reading Mr & Mrs Peters comment i felt the need to send a reply....
Our family have been going to Arillas and stayed at the Marina Hotel for over 20 years (and no its not because we like the loud music and wanna fall out the bar and stroll 5 meters down the road)
Our family's age range's from 8 months to 75 years old, and each of us go back year after year. If Vasilis and his hotel was as bad as Mr & Mrs Peters say do you think we would return??
The reason we return to the Marina Hotel is because of great hospitality. We even recommend it to others which again return again.
After returning from the bar to the hotel we often sit on the balcony for a night cap and have never once found the music a problem even my nan at the age of 75 has never found it a problem.
Once the double glazed doors are shut you do not even hear the music.
Vasilis and his family are one of the kindest people we have ever met
The Hotels restaurant is one of the best in Arillas.
I can't see why Mr & Mrs Peters would write a comment like they did as you can see from all other guests comments they do not have 1 bad word to say about the Marina Hotel.

I was really sad to hear that someone could post such rubbish about the marina hotel and staff. 
I have been going to corfu and staying at the marina hotel for 5 years now, and LOVE it.
I can honestly say there is no where I would rather go, it feels like a second home.
The hotel is family run. They are wonderful people, I cant speak highly enough of them!
Anyone who knows the family will agree.
If you have been considering staying here then you really should, you wont find anywhere better! |

We have visited the Hotel Marina many times over the last 10 years, taking with us over the years, in total, 14 friends and family, all of which have returned for a repeat visits. The Hotel, it's family and staff make you feel very welcome and can't do enough for you.
This year is my 25th Wedding Anniversary. I was going to to take my wife to Las Vegas, Sharm el Sheikh or the Maldives to make it really special. After offering these locations and all persuasive tactics the only place she wanted to go was back to Arillas and the Marina. What more can I say!
We love this Hotel and village and would recommend it to anyone.

Having read the comments posted by the Peters, I am compelled to record my comments about the Hotel, but more importantly about the alleged "incident"
I witnessed the incident from the second floor balcony, at the carpark end of the Hotel, I was directly above and could see and hear all that took place. I concur with Dorothy & James Morrow, their statement is an accurate reflection of my recollection of events.
Vasillis did not threaten or use violence at any time, he was less than happy, but so would I be if I was subjected to the same foul abuse he received from the Peters, whose behaviour can only be described as shocking and disgraceful.
I have been visiting Arillas every year for the last 10 years often twice a year and have stayed at the Hotel Marina on many occasions. The service, cleanliness and quality of the rooms are exceptional, Vasillis and his charming wife are the perfect hosts, they are warm genuine people of the utmost integrity.
It is disappointing that such inaccurate and slanderous drivel has been posted by the Peters.
Thankfully the truth will be obvious by the numbers of sincere comments made by past guests!

| I've just read A review on this website about the fabulous Marina Hotel and cannot believe what I've read. I feel the need to tell everyone just how fabulous it is. I have been visiting Arillas since 2000. During that time I have got married and taken my husband there, my parents and later some friends as well. Everyone I've introduced to Vasilis and his family have always felt so welcome and they have truely been made to feel like we've just got home. Vasilis at the Marina Hotel is a true legend and we love staying there. He is so funny and Anita (his wife) is so kind and caring, his family are amazing, we love them all. Who could ask for a better location? Waking up to the view over the beach, popping into the fabulous restaurant for lunch and a glass of wine or dinner in the evening while watching the sunset. Going to the restaurant for the infamous Greek Dancing is always a fab night! The hotel and apartments are clean, well looked after, with everything in them you could possibly need - the apartments even have mugs so you can have a proper cup of tea! They had a great pool put in last year, with sunken sunbeds and a swim up bar. Really, we love this place. Go and see for yourself how amazing Vasilis, Anita and Arillas is. You wont regret it and you will understand that the comment below is a load of rubbish! (Also the bar this guy moans about is great too! The people that run it are lovely and its a great night out). My love to everyone at the the hotel :) |

We have been coming to the Marina Hotel Arilas for many years the service from Vasilis Anita, Dida and Family has always been excellent, always helpful and kind, this is why we return, we've got to know the locals who work very hard in the bars and tavernas nearby and would like to think they are our friends.
The hotel is small clean and with all the neccesary amenities, the resturant is excellent very relaxed and efficiently run, all things required to make it ideal for a chilling holiday 
We're very upset to hear what's happened, they do not deserve this.
Our love and best wishes we send to them all, and wish them a happy and prosperus season.

| : Hello, just need to add my comments, for the record, and also to put the record straight. I have just read, with disbelief, comments made regarding the Marina Hotel and staff.
My family and I have been returning to Arillas and the Marina's accommodation for 7 years now, many more have been returning for much, much longer than that. If suggestions made were correct I very much doubt that the Marina would continue to have the high number of returning guests that it clearly has !
I have to say that when we came upon Arillas and the Marina seven years ago it was very much by chance, having returned year after year with our family we would not wish to stay anywhere else in Corfu.
The staff of the Marina are friendly, courteous and helpful and always have been. The resort caters for all, with a little of everything for everyone and it does it very well (how else would you explain our young daughters wishing to return there year after year).
We have always received the very best of service from the owners and staff of the Marina and the apartments.
The hotel, the resort, the shops, the bars, the beach, the restaurants, the wonderful location and views all add up to a perfect family holiday in a place that still has that small Greek fishing village feel about it.
It has everything me and my family need from a Holiday, a wonderful place with wonderful people.

Hi All ,
Like many others its time to prepair for another 2 weeks of quality time in the the place which I like to call my 2nd home Arillas.
B4 I wrote this I like to read what people have said about the Marina and cant belive some of the s**t that people have wrote about the Hotel and the staff.
It amazes me sometimes what people write considering how I have seen people treat some of the staff and locals out there. I have lost count how many times I have been to Arillas and feel that my Greek friends out there are infact my family because they will always be there if you need any sort of infomation and especially any kind of help.
I was 26 in April and like I said I have lost count the amount of years I have been going there , some people may think why aint a bloke in his 20's clubbing it up in Ibiza or Aiya Nappa , the reason apart from some of the best food , quality drinks and beautiful location is basically the PEOPLE of Arillas itself.(which my other half Sarah agree's 100%)
Hotel -100% People / Staff -100% Location - 100%
Vasilis and Anita + the babies me and Sarah will see you soon cant wait

We are the guests, staying at the Marina hotel, who witnessed the incident as described by Vasilis. We saw Vasilis move his car to block some departing guests, he communicated with them briefly and then simply walked away to continue his work at the hotel pool bar. At no time did we witness any physical violence and we felt that at all times he behaved in a very civil and controlled manner. He did not return to the cars until the police arrived and, after a short discussion, he simply moved his car.
We had a wonderful holiday at the Marina, did not experience any problem with noise - the balcony doors are double glazed - ( and our balcony was the closest to the bar ) and we like early nights and also have our bus pass! The whole family were delightful, always kind and helpful and many of their guests had been there many times.
The Marina offers excellent value for money. The rooms are spotless, have TV, telephone, mini fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and air con. All this with a glorious sea view - try getting that in the UK - at even twice the price!!
The Corfu season is a short one and the Greek people have to work very hard for small profit margins. They really can not afford to turn down bookings for rooms and then have them left empty by departing guests.
We are returning to the Marina this year and our son and family are also coming with us. We highly reccommend it for a simply wonderful holiday.

After beeing notified by guests of the hotel marina about the malicious report on our hotel and me (the hotel manager) personally, I feel the need to reply, not to justify myself to the people writing the report, but for all our guests who come and keep coming to our hotel and restaurant for years.
Mr. and Mrs. Peters booked a week in our hotel in august 08 and asked for a quiet room. We specifically pointed out in our emails that with our location and it beeing high season there might be noise.They accepted, booked it, payed a deposit of 70 pounds sterling ( almost the rental of two nights) and came. After staying their first night, (they never complained about the noise), they came and asked back for their passport, saying that they would feel safer if they kept it. trusting people as I am, I gave it back to them.
The next day , they had allready decided to leave (we later found out that they had allready got accommodation somewhere else) and told us by the way that they went because of the noise of the bar. Just to let you all know, that they were they only people out of 32 guests that complained. And I also have to make it clear, that the buiding of the nearby bar belongs to my family, but it's beeing rented and run by someone who has nothing to do with our family.
We kindly explained them that if they wish to leave, according to the greek law, they would have to pay half of the agreed ammount. They refused and not only that, but started to become aggressive and insulting about us greeks beeing greedy. It was not a matter of money, but merely a matter of principal. Thus I blocked their car in our parking area and waited for the police to come, which they called. The police came and asked me kindly to let it go and if I wished I could press charges against them according to the law. The ammount of money was not worth it and seeing that these people had no decency ( they were swearing on top of their voice, disturbing other guests, who witnessed the whole scene and all told me later how embarrased and ashamed they felt about the abuse towards me and my family!) I let them go. They left swearing and threatening, that they would get revenge and they obviously think they did, with their slandering report to this website.
And to proove how malicious this couple was, a day after their first comment, they sent another comment themselves under the name of a supposed guest of ours . but we never had anyone staying with us under that name. And the simplest proove is to check the IP numbers of those two comments. they are identical!!! this means both comments have been sent from the same computer. (you can see the IP adress if you register to send a comment).
Now, to cut a long story short, the facts of the guests returning year after year to our family hotel says it all. If I would treat people like they said I did, or if our restaurant would be as bad as they describe, we would be out of business a long time ago.
I would like to thank you for beeing patient reading all this.
I had to reply and let our guests know what really happened.
And for those who don't know me and my family's business, the comments of our satisfied guests proove Mr. and Mrs. Peters wrong.

 Preparing for my yearly trips to Marina Hotel , I decided to survey the websites and was absolutely horrified to read some of the comments made.
To me this Hotel and surrounding area are my heaven on earth, people who indulge in the making of detrimental comments are very foolish and blinkered, perhaps if they wish to cause mischief regarding peoples business they should stay at home.
I trust that all the visitors who know Vasillis,Anita,Dida and family will all thank them for providing a great holiday in a secure and extremely happy enviroment.

Thank you very much for your comments. We were just about to book 2 weeks at the Marina for next summer and will now look for somewhere else. We had a similar experience a couple of years ago at the Casa Delfino in San Stefanos when the owner became very rude to me even though he was at fault and had messed up our booking. So avoid this one too if you are looking for polite friendly hotel owners. I am sure other people will sing these hotel's parises however once bitten twice shy! |

| Hi,We stayed at the hotel Marina earlier this year,found it noisy at night,we were told by the owners that the loud music opposite was a problem and that they had complained and tried to get it stopped.Interesting that we read from K.Peters that the bar is owned by the hotel!!! There are plenty of hotels so will find somewhere quiet next time. Dan and Marge..London
