We drew the short straw and stayed in Apartment 2. Therefore we were unable to use our front balcony as it looks staight out on to the seating area for Makis' cafe. We also had to put up with the noise of his grandchildren. There were a couple of days during our stay when the apartment was not cleaned and the same dead insects were on the shower room window cill at the end of the week as were there at the start of the week. The towels were not changed all week and some of the bed linen was stained. There was no plug on the kitchen sink and the range of equipment was extremely limited. We had to do our washing up in a large cooker pan!
The good points were that Makis himself was friendly, the pool gorgeous and Makis' greek salads were fantastic.
We would thoroughly recommend Smileys as the place to eat in Roda.
As for Libra, when the information on the board says that the collection at the end of the holiday is "over the bridge and to the right", what is actually meant is over the bridge, turn left and walk about 100yards. This really ought to be clarified as we nearly missed our pick up.

Well what can i say Roda is fantastic and just right if you want a nice peaceful, quite, family or romantic holiday it was fabulous. Makis apartments were wonderful we fell in love with it as soon as we got there, its so pretty they have flowers and roses and trees all along the path ways and around the pool, which i have to add is the cleanest i have ever seen. As has been said before the pool is his pride and joy and he does spend ages every night hovering the bottom and cleaning it, there wasn't a day we didn't go in the pool.
The apartments are clean and spacious and if there is anything wrong you only have to say and they will do their best to sort it out for you.
Maki, Maria the rest of the family and not to forget Pam were wonderful and so friendly nothing is too much trouble and they are always smiling and always say hello.
We had a brilliant holiday and made some really good friends, shame we had to leave so soon though before we could have any more all nighters with Jackie and Colin lol.
So if all goes to plan we will be back in august hehehe and next june we will be going out there again to meet up with all the friends we made this year.
So in all we would recomend the Makis apartments to anyone and everyone go there you will love it.

We are going to the Makis apartments for the first time on 8th june and we cant wait, after reading all the reviews we are really excited. Two years ago we went to Malia (crete) we did ask for a reasonably quiet holiday lol. we felt like we stayed in a nightclub for two whole weeks and got no sleep the music was 24 hours.
This year we booked a last minute holiday and after checking all the possible places to go we decided that after all the reviews The Makis was the place for us!!.
Looking forward to meeting any of you staying there while we are, we will be the ones lazing by the pool everyday lol.
Let you all know what we thought when we get back!.

Hi Carrie Makis are ideal for your mam. The shops, tavernas etc are right on your doorstep. The whole resort is great for people who are not able to get around to well. The resort is small enough & it's totally flat, so it should be perfect for you all. I hope you have a great time! I can't wait till I go back again on 11th June. Jackie

We had not been to Corfu before and we picked Roda because it sounded quiet and relaxing, we picked the Makis Apartments because it offered us plenty of space with a pool - all I can say is that we were not disappointed, Corfu and the Makis Apartments.......delivered 100%!
The pool is wonderfully clean and the food is good at the apartments, although there were so many nice places to eat and drink you are spoilt for choice. The beach is wonderfully close and the sea was so clear and warm - fantastic!
We enjoyed ourselves so much I've booked again for the same two weeks next year. Hope we can have Room 4 again, it was spacious and had great views!
Thank you for a wonderful holiday. See you again next year!

Just returned from staying at the Makis apts and have to say was slightly disapointed. We had the ground floor two bedroomed apartment at the front. This was situated right next door to Makis's snack bar so along the front of our balcony was the snack bar tables which prevented us sitting out there. The back of the snack bar was at our front door where we had to listen to Makis's grandchildren scream from ten in the morning until they finally left at midnight. The elders themselves are not particularly quiet either, Which is difficult with a baby and another small child trying to sleep through the day and have an occasional early night. The room itself was basic as is expected for Greece but didnt find it a problem. It was cleaned on a daily basis although bedding and clean towels only provided once a weekT he pool area is gorgeous and the snack bar is lovely with a good selction at reasonable prices. Makis and his family are lovely and will do anything to help you out. The location is perfect with the beach on your front door and an excellent selection of restaurants in Roda.
However don't expect any help from your Libra rep who unfortunatly is incompetent, unhelpful and rude!!
The 1 bedroomed and studio apartments are fine here and i don't think i would have had a proble m had i had one of those.

Arrived back from Makis apartments on Monday, had a great time. First time staying in these apartments, having stayed in many different apartments in Roda, these are definitely one of the best The rooms, although basic, have everything you could possibly need. Makis and his family are lovely, they are always willing to help in any way they can.
Makis rents out fans, safety deposit boxes and has a phone available. There is a snack bar serving a wide selection of food and drink, all very reasonably priced. At the front there is the Makis Fast Food, which is also very good. You can also order food from either the snack bar or fast food for room service.
There is a good sized swimming pool and a small children's pool which is very safe and clean. There are lots of inflatables that you can use in the pool, free of charge, in addition to the free sunbeds and parasols.
The cleaner Pamela is really nice. She's an English lady, who has lived in Corfu for a number of years. She is very nice and will help in any way she can.
I was lucky enough to get room 11, on the first floor. It has great views of the sea across to Albania and also views of the mountains. It was lovely waking up and seeing the sun rise over the mountains.
I would definitely return to these apartments.
