Katia Beach

Accommodation in Kassiopi

Lynn K

Just had a weeks holiday at Katia Beach. The location is very good 2 minutes from a really nice quiet beach. The pool area is okay but the bar was never open and neither was the reception. The whole place needs a good clean and so do the appartments. Only had our bins emptied once and towels and bed linen changed  once and that was because we asked. Its about a 20 minute walk into Kassiopi which is okay. Will return to Kassiopi but not to Katia unless the standars improve.

Which travel agents sell Katia Beach Kassiopi Corfu Holidays in 2005?

hi we are just back from kassiopi. stayed at katia beach. really quiet but kids loved it, even my 15yr old. staff really friendly. apt typically Greek basic but clean. The pebble beach was secluded and really clean and safe, a real bonus on your doorstep. The walk into kassiopi great to work off all the lovely food. Food at pool bar expensive and not great but loads to choose from just up the road.We are going back next year had such a great time!!

On arrival the locks were broken off two of the doors and could not be locked - not repaired until four days later. Live wires in childrens bedroom - not repaired until five days later. Air conditioning was regulated to 25 degrees. If you like blaring music until two o'clock in the morning then this is the place for you. No problem with the 10-15 minute walk to Kassiopi town even with two young children. We shall consider returning to Kassiopi but definitely not to Katia Beach.

My wife and I used the appartments as a base and did not use the on-site facilities at all. having said that, the rooms were spacious and clean and there was no problem with noise. the main critisism seems to stem from the trek into the town centre. For the elderly or people with children, it could pose a problem, but for the able-bodied it was a 15min. walk.

We stayed at katia beach from 9th -23rd July. Our room (studio) was a good size, the balcony was facing away from the pool which meant it was a very quiet location. it was also out of the cun all day so it didn't get too hot - but would still recommend getting a fan especially for the nights.
I was worried about the walk to town but in fact it wasn't too bad. In the day it was too hot to walk but if you got up early you could avoid the heat and it wasn't a problem. At night it wasn't a problem. the walk is well lit and takes about 20 minutes-it is along a road but it isn't very busy.
The pool at Katia beach is pretty basic. Quite strict on what you are allowed to do. For the first week we didn't pay for sunbeds but they introduced it in the second week. 2euros per sunbed cover but then you get a free drink at the bar?!You can hear some noise from campsite during day but not really a problem.
All the staff were friendly and nothing was ever a problem.
I personally wouldn't go back there. This is due to the walk as if you wanted to stay out late it seemed along way back!
I went to kassiopi last year and would recommend it to anyone. Have a nice holiday. xxx

Stayed at Katia Beach in Sept 2003, nearly had a heart attack when bus dropped us off down that very steep bank thinking about how we were going to get up it to go into town, but you get used to it and by end of holiday it was no bother, and anyway you need the exercise after eating, drinking & doing nothing all week. Beaches in Kassiopi are not the best but found a lovely beach when you come out of Katia Beach turn left and keep walking there is a lovely beach there with nobody on it, very nice. Absolutely loved Kassiopi, it is the most relaxing and friendly place I have been to. We loved Illusions Bar and the very sexy handsome waiters in Janis Restaurant, any single ladies out there go and have a look you will not be disappointed. My favourite bar was Costa's with the Greek dancing the dancers were brilliant and also very nice!!!. Cant wait to go back next year, dont know if I would stay at Katia Beach as it is a little far out of town but the pool area was lovely so you never know.

We would return to Kassiopi but not Katia Beach. The complex and staff are nice but the location was the bad thing about it for us. Once you get on to the main road the walk was long but ok to the village. It was walking back at night in pitch black with young children along the single track road with the blind bends that was dangerous. I would advise anyone to hire a car as this makes life much easier.
You do get charged for the sunbeds but in return you get free drinks equivalent to the price paid. The prices at the pool bar were more expensive than the village and service was slow as the barman serves drinks and also cooks the food!
Katia would be seen occasionally but usually she was telling people off. Things like no splashing in the pool (the water is expensive!), only 2 lilos in the pool at one time and not to wear Tshirts in the pool.
We made a lot of friends at the complex and after heading out for tea we would meet back at the pool bar for drinks. They will stay open as long as you want although one night we got back about 10pm and it was all shut and in pitch black.
The nearby local beach is made up of very large pebbles and was not suitable for young children to enter the water. We went on a beach BBQ boat trip and was horrified to realise we were heading for another pebbly beach. In the end we hired a car to go to Sidari to enjoy a sandy beach. Water there is very shallow and safe for kids.
Hi to everyone we met and those of you who got our Email address is should be ntlworld.com (not co.uk) Hope to hear from you

Stayed at Katia 1st 2 weeks of Sept. It is quite a walk into Kassiopi but it is a quiet location. The 2 bar staff, Alex & Alexis were excellent, nothing was ever to much trouble. We would recommend the apartments to anyone. The only fault was with other holiday makers putting towels on the sun beds at 8am in the morning, it was worst than Germans !!!!

We're back! After our first visit to Kassipoi and we've booked for next year!! It was outstanding. Katia beach is fine. Very basic but has a nice pool. There is no charge for the sunloungers as was previously thought. The walk can be a bit of a drag but if you're lying by the pool or beach most of the time there is no harm in a little exercise. The temperature was in the 40's almost every day but we coped! Suggest you hire fans the first day. 2 euros per day per fan but well worth it. We did hear the campsite occassionally but not so that it disturbed us. There are nicer apartments in Kassiopi but you'd be hard pushed to find a nicer pool/area. Plus I think they are reasonably priced. Because there are not many rooms you get to know everyone. We met some really nice people and had some great nights in the bar at night. It would certainly be no hardship to return to Katia Beach

Hi, We have just returned from Katia Beach and really enjoyed it. Points though, there are very few taxi's in Kassiopi so getting one is near impossible, the walk into the village is fine at night but NOT during the day, the heat is too much (we hired a moped after the first day so we did not have to walk it again in the sun!!!) There is a children's camp site next door which kept us awake to the early hours, so try and get your appartment to the left habd side. There is no air-conditioning but yes you can hire fans from reception. Kassiopi is stunning and the people are beautiful, so much so we are returning in 3 weeks. Have a great time.

We have stayed at Katia Beach twice before(we have two kids aged 10 and 15) and never found the walk to be a problem. We liked Kassiopi so much we are going back this year to the Nancy Apartments for a change.

Hi all,
I can't wait to hear from anyone who is just back from the Katia Beach this year. I'm concerned about the walk - is it too far to expect a nine year old to go every evening? How much is it in a taxi to and from the town? I've read so much about Illusions Bar - will they let us in with the kids (9 & 15)? Lastley, do the rooms have fans or air-con, or can you hire fans at the Apts + how much? Thanks a lot

WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME AT KATIA BEACH IN JUNE 2002....LOVELY STAFF, GREAT SERVICE, QUIET COMPLEX...FABULOUS POOL, FOOD NOT EXCELLENT. DAILY PAYMENT OF 2EUROS FOR SUN LOUNGERS NOT GREAT....SHOULD BE IN WITH PRICE.
THE WALK ISN'T THAT BAD, YOU GET USED TO IT. BEST PLACE TO EAT IS THE TEX MEX PLACE ON THE MAIN STREET IN TOWN.......CHEAP BUT FANTASTIC.THE YANIS IS GREAT FOR A TREAT....A REALLY SPECIAL EXPERIENCE.
ALSO RECOMMEND THAT YOU TURN LEFT AT THE KATIA BEACH GATE AND WALK FOR ABOUT 15 MINS...YOU WILL FIND BEAUTIFUL TAVERNA'S, QUIET BEACH AND SOLACE!
HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY!!!!

Sandra Y

We are staying here in June - good to read Helen's comments. Have convinced myself that the walk to and from town will be good exercise if I sit around and eat and drink for the rest of the time. Probably won't notice or care about the walk home after a night at Illusions!

I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE AT KATIA, SOME THINK THAT THE WALK 2 THE HEART OF KASSIOPI IS TOO FAR BUT I HAD SOME GOOD TIMES. HOPEFULLY SEE SOME OF YOU OUR THERE THIS YEAR, I AM STAYING HERE... ARE YOU READY 4 THE TIA TORNADO????!!! HAVE A BLAST!

Helen K

oh and kassiopi has to be the best holiday i have ever had i have been going there for the last 5 years

Helen K

oh and i forgot to say the beaches are not that great the best beach is a boat ride away if you get the chance go hear or you can get there by car it is in kalamacki about 5-10 minutes drive you cant beat it. if you are looking for somewhere quiet then katia is the place to go. but you do get a lot of familys there.

Helen K

i stayed at katia beach last summer. It is quite a walk away from the main village it took us 20-30 minutes each way but you can order a taxi from the complex, the complex it self is very friendly the bar has a range of snacks and drinks the pool is nice but be careful it slopes very quickly and goes very deep. The room itself are nice they are clean. There is also a laundry service at a small cost. there is a small type of village 5 minutes walk away which has a few resturants and bars but recomend the star for a meal you cant beat it and if you are looking for the best bar it has to be illusions which is near to the harbour.
