These studio apartments were quite spacious (bathroom a little on the small side) and very well located if you want a quiet holiday. The owner was friendly and invited us to join him for a drink in town one evening. If you want a bit of night life you will have quite a walk to get to the livelier bars of the resort (about 20 mins). However, there are a number of very good bars/tavernas within easy walking distance. In particular try Riviera Restaurant just a few mins walk away, here you can sample genuine home-made Greek dishes and homemade wine at amazingly good prices all served on the verandah overlooking the sea. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and his mother does the cooking and his father makes the wine, proper family run business. Also try Taverna Malibu located on the seafront just 2 mins walk from the apartments, great choice of traditional Greek dishes and a good choice of wine to wash them down with. Staff very friendly and welcoming, they have a knack of remembering you if you go back for a 2nd visit which is a nice touch.
The beach is 2 mins from the studios and it is the quiet end of the beach and you will even encounter some of the locals sunbathing and swimming.
One downside to these apartments was the fact that they only change the towels and bedlinen once a week. We spoke to our travel rep about this and she said it seems to be quite common with Greek accommodation. If you are feeling brave and are around when the clean linen/towels are delivered back freshly laundered, then help yourself from the bundle as they just leave them outside until the owner puts them away! The maid did come in and clean twice a week, she told us off for having citronella candles lit to keep the mosquitos away, claimed they were a fire hazard. Mosquitos are a nuisance here so be prepared for them. |
