My fiance and I have just returned from a week at Sebastian Studios in Ag Gordios and have nothing but priase for Ag Gordios, the accommodation, and the owners, Theresa and Sebastian.
We were lucky enough to get the 2 bedroom family apartment between the 2 of us - which is decorated beautifully and has everything you need (no need for travel kettles or your own bottle openers!) - definitely a home from home. The beach (sand) is a few minutes straight ahead - but Sebastian guests do have access to a pool in neighbouring accommodation - although we didn't use this facility as preferred the sand, sea and waves! The apartment boasts a lovely balcony with fab sea views - which is situated just above the restaurant. However, the grapevines mean you can enjoy the live Greek Bouzouki players that play in the restaurant twop evenings a week in total privacy - and the restaurant noise at others times was minimal and never bothered us.
Sebastians Taverna serves a lovely menu with lots of traditional Greek fare - and make sure you try Theresa's cheesecake - its divine! However, there are lots of other nice restaurants to choose from - we particularly like the atomosphere in The Lemon Tree about 2 minutes down the road on the right. For trendier souls - there are what seem to be lots of new, stylish tavernas and bars on the seafront - we particulary enjoyed the food at Zeffyros (lovely stonebaked break and pizza's!) - and for those looking for a game of pool - Ark - a couple of doors down - has a table for 2 Euros a game in very pleasant surroundings.
This resort is marketed at couples and families - and this is exactly who it suits. It doesn't have bundles of nightlife - but it does have a few options for those wanting to carry on till the wee hours. However, for those looking for a more traditional Greek atmosphere it has lots of cosy taverna's with friendly locals -and I even have to admit the Greek red wine had grown on us by the end of the holiday!
