Daskalos Apartments - (Accommodation in Kavos)

Stayed at Daskalos Apartments Aug 08 - apartment (the one on the left in the photo) was right by the pool which was a good size & always had sunbeds (which were free ) vacant. Everywhere at Daskalos was spotlessly clean & it was right on the beach (see photo of bar/restaurant with sea in the background). Temperatures soared to 40 degrees, so the tree overhanging the beach was very useful when the sun got too much.
Lovely quiet location (so you could relax during the day), with the main street about 2 minutes walk away, & the strip (where all the clubs are) about 10 minutes walk away.
Everyone was so friendly - from the old lady (about 80) in the supermarket up the road (Chandris - the biggest & best in Kavos), to the maid who cleaned our apartment every day.
You have to pay 49 Euros per week for air con, but it was WELL worth it because it was so hot when we were there. The safes are by the bar & are free.
Had some lovely Greek meals at Aristos just at the top of the road (good sized portions), & cooked breakfasts at Daskalos (Yannis & Bella are excellent cooks). Don't expect to be able to 'self-cater' - there are no butchers or fishmongers in Kavos, fruit is scarce & salad/veg virtually non-existent.
Yannis, Bella & George (owners) were absolutely wonderful, always smiling & helpful. In fact, a good part of the reason we enjoyed the holiday so much was because of them & their lovely apartments.
I'd certainly recommend them to anyone - just wish I was still there now!

Ate here almost every night in Aug 2011.
Location brilliant - right on the beach. Totally relaxing with soft Greek music in the background. Excellent friendly service & the best food I've tasted in Greece.
I worked my way through all of the Greek dishes on the menu - all were great, but my personal favourite was Kleftiko - chunks of melt-in-the-mouth lamb and potatoes in an unbelievably tasty sauce topped by succulent tomatoes & cheese - heaven in a bowl!
