Rebeccas Villiage - (Accommodation in Sidari)

Just arrived back from Rebeccas Village.  First impressions on arriving was 'this looks good' but a little concerned at how far we seemed to be away from the resort of sidari itself.  Nonetheless, when we were shown to our apartment, we were more than happy with the size and layout.  Everything was very clean, lovely big bathroom complete with bath and shower, kitchen area was adequate although if we had wanted to cook in the apartment we would have had a job as no oven or microwave or toaster, just a two hob burner and a small kettle.

The surroundings were lovely with views of the sea.  The pool area was good although we did find that around the edge of the pool there was very little grip and this made it very slippy, which could be quite dangerous (saw a few children run and fall over during our stay), but otherwise the pool bar was good, although there seemed to be a need to rake in the money wherever possible for eg free sunbeds and umbrellas but if you wanted a cushion for the not so comfy sunbeds you had to pay 1 euro per day.  The tennis courts were something like 5 euro per hour in day and about 10 euro if you wanted to play at night. Also had to lay out a deposit  for the table tennis bats etc which were in need of replacing, although luckily for us we took our own bats and balls.

The bar and dining area were very tidy although there only ever appeared to be one chap managing both in the evening, so we came to expect a delay in being served.  Spiros seemed to be trying to serve drinks then take orders for food, and then serve the food.  A couple of waitresses would have gone down well.

The distance to sidari was about 2 km and you could either walk by the main road which was quite hairy with all the cars speeding by you as you walked, or you could cut down and head for the beach and then make your way into sidari along the beach,(which is what we did).  Not too bad a walk down in the evening but by the time you wanted to come back and stopped at the supermarket to buy your water etc it was a gruelling walk back uphill to the apartment.  There were no lights so we needed to use torches and the road itself was very narrow, so it got a bit scary when the cars passed you by.  You could get taxis from sidari for 5 euros each way, which is what most people opted to do.

So all in all, apartments were good, but distance from town went against them so I am afraid we would not go back to these apartments if we went back to sidari.

Astoria - (Restaurants in Sidari)

Michelle F          8/10

Just back from sidari, ate at Astoria first night and again in the second week.  Food was good, service good, kids happy with choice of meals.

Memories Restaurant - (Restaurants in Sidari)

Not blown away with this restaurant, very hot and muggy and were cramped as ten of us sat round a couple of tables.  Food was OK, nothing to write home about, and service was just OK. Only ate there once and did not go back.

Sea Breeze Restaurant - (Restaurants in Sidari)

Michelle F          7/10

Just got back from sidari, ate at Sea Breeze once during our stay.  Food was OK and service was OK in general.  Watched the greek dancing and plate smashing which went down well with everyone.  Kids were able to have a game of pool in the back room while us adults sat around and chatted.

The Roof Garden - (Restaurants in Sidari)

Michelle F          9/10

Just got back from Sidari, discovered the roof garden and ended up booking to go back a couple of times.  Had to book table as there were ten of us and its not a very big restaurant, however plate sizes are big, and we all struggled to eat everything.  Had to leave room for a desert as never seen deserts like it.  Kids loved the chocolate fudge cake and cheesecake which were served on a plate large enough to eat your main meal off.  Service was excellent, so this was our favourite eating establishment overall.

Olympic Holidays - (Tour Operators on Corfu)

Michelle F

Have to say, this was the worst flight we had been on, the plane was Air Malta, and the cabin staff were totally ignorant and looked like they wished they weren,t there (on the outbound flight), there was no film to watch and no music and we were not given an explanation of why not.  The plane on take off was extremely noisy and did not sound very healthy.  The plane journey home was a little better after a 6 hour delay at Corfu airport because of engine problems!!!! but the cabin crew were british and extremely pleasant even though we had to stop at Venice to refuel, they made the trip home a bit more bearable and we managed to watch a film which kept the kids entertained.

The rep at the resort seemed to be very nervous at times when dealing with people, especially the welcome meeting, as he just seemed to read through his notes as quickly as possible.  When we were picked up to come home in the morning he was as miserable as sin, and hardly said two words to anyone.  He then dropped us at the airport, told us which line to get in roughly and then cleared off.  We then had to wait to hear from someone else about the flight delay, and no one seemed to know exactly what was going on.  Very badly organised!!!!
